Hey Chris . I found a guy Fawkes yesterday with the same 45 degree rotation error like the bunny 50p. One to keep your eye out for in future . Iv got the Rugby, guy Fawkes and act of union rotations errors now . 😊

On the edge inscriptions I have noticed there are several different lettering styles - you can see at 10:13 there are at least two, maybe three types: taller italic letters like the left hand coin, and shorter squarer letters like nos 2, 3, 4 and 5 from the left, and maybe a thinner variety like number 8. Do these just vary by year or are there differences within years?

Did you stay for Mondays Orwell strike your own? Just got an email from the mint pointing out that some were done with the wrong edge inscription, the definitive £2 one not the one it was meant to have. They very kindly have offered to replace it if I send it back ... I think not!!!!

I only started hunting 50p's this year and have managed to get a couple of £250 bags from the Post Office and a Building Society I'm with.
Sadly today a sub postmaster refused my request, said not if your just going to look through them and then bring them back.
I think if you have a business account at a bank you can order them but you then pay charges.

Not melt them down to just change the portrait - but be cheaper to give Chuck a facelift to look like Liz then no need to change the coins..
But seriously - melting down a bimetallic coin must be quite hard to separate the two types?

Definitely think those bags had been gone through, hence the staples, terrible bad luck.
Why any idiot would want to staple the bags closed is beyond me, unless it's to literally stop the bank itself checking the coins, obviously they'd weigh them.
