Why didn't they talk more about bullying? He is like this because of the intense bullying in their society.... not just in schools but also in work environments. This young man has been let down by so many people. The only person who has given him comfort is his mother hence his obsession. Society needs to change... bullying must be stopped. Bullying ruins lives. What a shame, this poor young man has had his youth taken away from him. I hope he gets the help he needs and understands that not all people are like those bullies.
They probably didn't want to make him uncomfortable with what else they learned. They probably got him help after. I wish this show did follow ups with cases like this so we knew how they were doing

Seriously, the last case with the guy who was addicted to water plus coffee and this case... Both stemmed for bullying. This is too much. This culture of bullying and treating it as normal is not okay. I'm so frustrated at how nonchalant everyone on the show is about bullying smh
i was at dark place in my 1st year college, i dont have ANY friend and people look at me like a freak some call me name too.. i used to cry everyday, dreading go to college and whenever possible i try to talk to my friend outside college, i also went to psychologist. being lonely at crowd is so scary, research said that bullied people have the same of trauma as soldier in a war. even tho im not bullied but its enough to change my confidence, etc.
I think Hello counselor should have a psychologist as part of their hosts. Most of the time the advice that they give is very biased and some of these people need to hear advice from a professional point of view.
I don't think you understand the point of the show. It's not really about the concerns. It's entertainment. They put comedians and personalities on to entertain the audience and viewers. If the show got too serious, many people wouldn't watch it. In Korea, while it's strict, people love laughter and funny broadcasts. That's what gets the ratings. Also, the people that come with the concerns get a little fame as well. Like the mother that wore a hijab or the little girl with different colored eyes. Korean TV and American TV are completely different.

he's not a bad guy its just that he needs to become more independent. I don't understand how South Korea even tolerates bullying, I'm lucky that I live in Australia where if someone gets picked on, others speak up to the bullies action or the teachers punish the bully. Physical bullying which I have never seen in Australia in my own experience.

I'm glad you've never experienced bullying in Australia, but it is still a prevalent problem in our society too. I read an article a few weeks back which revealed many Australian workers felt they were the victims of workplace bullying and felt powerless to stop it...

Separation anxiety is a real thing. I had separation anxiety too when I was younger. I hated being apart from my mom too. It basically came from something my aunt said to me when I was 5 years old. So I can definitely understand this young man. I think something more must have happened to him other then having no friends to talk to or lean on while in school. People don't realize the effect words and actions can have on a person.
Trauma really could cause long term anxiety and depression.. low self confidence goes deep :l your mind may acknowledge that you're worth it.. but it could take much effort to truly feel it.. Rooting for u, young man! And may we all be more kind to one another :`)
Honestly it's hard to find a guy who still sticks closely to their mothers at the age of 22. However, I hope this guy gains more confidence and not rely on his mom so often! Also, hes a real sweetheart who deserves to be with someone who truly loves him 😭

I can totally relate to this concern. I am obsessed with my elder sister. But its due to the reason that i lost my mum and my sister took as a role of a mother so i got soooo attached to her that i also go with her whenever we go out. I am just like the boy. I am scared to lose someone again who is sooo dear to me.

I can see that the son loves his mother profoundly. This is totally a bit strange and weird because of his age 22 and still reply on his mother. The son need to work on how to be independent from the rest of his life because I’m telling the truth that when he’s getting older and older, his mother won’t be always on his side. Also, my mom teaches me how to be independent when I was in senior high school and now, I’m third years in college. She always want to make sure if I want her to go with me. I always tell her it’s not necessary because I’ve already know what to do unless in need of help or support from my mom. You know that you still have time to learn how to independent and need to break that bad habit.

I can honestly say that I’m very similar to him, and I’ve been in therapy for years now. It’s an incredibly difficult thing to deal with, and it isn’t strange. It’s incredibly common for people in Korea to experience severe depression and anxiety because of the stigma around mental health and therapy. It isn’t ‘believed in’ for the most part, so his mom is all he’s had to reassure him, and that’s why he has such an attachment; She makes him feel safe. It’s incredibly more complex than what you would suggest.
