@HitNail1 you haven't tried this recently in real hardware isn't it?, nowadays is way more difficult to set this up when this OS doesn't have support, not because java or other things, but because a lot of sites or apps that need internet doesn't work in old OS like these, thats why he doesn't show all the launchers that "could work" but they don't nowadays with XP.
You can stil get windows xp themes on windows 10 and 11. Look up making windows 10 (or 11) look like windows xp and im sure youll find a video. I have windows 10 but styled to look like 7 with aero glass

No, connecting your computer to the network will not put the entire system at risk. It still has the router firewall, which is always up to date if you're using it. And as long as you go to an HTTPS website, and a trusted website, simply connecting to the internet will never put you at risk. I've had numerous XP Laptops and computers and have them connected to the entire internet, nothing. As long as you're visiting RUclips instead of yutub, you're safe.

I recently ran Minecraft 1.16.5 on a ThinkPad t60 running windows xp 32 bit, believe it or not the biggest issue was I only had 1 gb ram but allocating only 512 mb to Minecraft mostly fixed that

It really just depends on the availability of a (recent) version of the Java Runtime Environment. The operating system itself doesn't make that big of a difference, so long as there exists an abstraction layer for it.

Your sister's Dell laptop looks like my last working Windows XP computer its a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 laptop with a Red colored lid I played ROBLOX & Minecraft on back then. The laptop I have is a little smaller than the one in the video plus Dell says that Windows XP, Vista, and 7 are officially compatible with that laptop I have. (I mainly used the old HP tower but Idk if it works but the Sound Blaster sound card is on the top of the pc and its been in the garage since 2016) Lately I have been using the Dell Inspiron Mini computer for Legacy games that doesn't work on Windows 10 or Windows 11 (Even if you have compatibility mode enabled & Even if you are running Windows XP in a Virtual Machine it would just not work for full-screen games). I was gonna say. I remember playing minecraft on Windows XP as well. I don't really remember the specs of my old XP computer but the main part I remember was it having 2gb of ram and vaguely remember it having an ATi graphics card from either '05 or '06 (it was previously owned by my second oldest brother who got the computer around the same time). It had at least 100gb of storage but I could be wrong. The only thing I clearly remember was playing Minecraft version 1.2.5 at low settings with 15-20fps.

As long as the USB is big enough. It sure is for multiple Linux Distros, but Windows ISO's are simply too big if you're using a standard 8GB USB.
You should have installed it and logged in on your Mac and then copy the entire multimc folder to the dell
