  • On February 28th, I caught a total of seven SEPTA trains! I first saw a train meet at Ambler Station, two trains at Church Avenue, and three more trains at Ambler Station. I also included some distant horn clips of the Silverliner V RL K3LA horns. SEPA 403 (S2M). SEPA 283 (S2M). SEPA 735 (RL K3LA). SEPA 341 (Fouled S2M). SEPA 711 (RL K3LA). SEPA 405? (S2M). SEPA 285 (Fouled S2M).

Crossing was very early for the second train.

Yeah, the crossings circuits are set to activate early. Probably a good thing as trains have the probably to overrun the station and into the crossing.

@@sepa2401 You DO realize that there ARE impatient drivers. 30 seconds is understandable, but over 3 minutes is unacceptable. Same with pedestrians.

@@Rlotpir1972 Freight trains take much longer to clear the crossing compared to passenger trains, and they run through here often at night. The approach circuit is necessary.

Pedestrians couldn't wait until the walk signal. And people whine and cry when they are told. Need police cameras on those crossings.

Unfortunately, nothing much really can be done to change behavior at grade crossings without changing the actual infrastructure. That's why SEPTA added PA speakers in the early 2000s to alert people of second trains approaching at the crossings.
