The barely growing mustaches are the perfect touch.
Still growing more stache than the guy that walked in 😂
“Show me what you’re doin” exactly what all IT guys say before they help you, just so you know it was 100 your fault 🤣🤣
I work in IT and I usually say it a little different. The usual term is reproducing the error. You need to see the error message etc then do the troubleshooting from there. Most of the time it's Google rabbit trails. For coding I keep notes on specific references and rely on sites like w3schools when I get stuck. The absolutely hard part not to many folks know is both legacy software/equipment or prepiorty software. Legacy means outdated and priority is something produced in house not available to the public so the only way to learn about it is documents from the company or employees.
Been in IT 24 years and I can tell in my early days it was 1000 percent like this
It's so weird watching these in order and seeing technology change
yet the personalities of IT dudes remains the same
Jimmy is so good as this character!!
Raise your hand if you remember real player lol
Precursor to this.. RUclips! And Spotify..
Good ol' Flash and Real player for 90s-early 00s RUclips/Spotify/Apple Music...and the download time is only 1/3 of your day
I've been trying to forg- **BUFFERING**
I'm trying to forget.
Only losers ever used that boomer.
Our company IT guys always have the best humor 😂
Calista Flockhart as a nerd is adorable!
that was Calista Flockhart?????!
Um, no.
adorkable you mean...lol
@@afunnythinghappenedonthewa6622 Um, no what?
@@michaelwilner4756 You are a tasteless fool.
I’m in IT. I have to be nice at my job, but we still make fun when clients aren’t around
I was a stripper and that's what we did too
Don't worry, they probably still make fun of you when you're not around.
We should be nice regardless though. Nick Burns is exactly the opposite of what we should be. The only people we should be making fun of are the arrogant idiots and those that somehow got a position in IT that have no right to even be there. In almost every skit with Nick Burns the users are genuinely pleasant and not acting in an arrogant manner, we should want these as our model user..
"It's those idiots in marketing..." That's right, marketing and marcomm people, we're looking at you. You know who you are...
@@jackkraken3888 Of course, you are right! But it is also funny to remember that this skit originally aired in November of 2000 - so over 21 years ago. Then, personal computers were just taking off, fewer people knew very much about how to use them, and they were a lot less user-friendly than they are today. At that time, tech support was also a new field that could only be provided by a few people (software engineers who knew C/C++ DAS, etc.).
Is that Calista Flockhart hiding behind those cute glasses :D?
Doubt it was intentional, but those last few moments were some of the most honest & tender I've ever seen on SNL.
You’re the definition of gullible.
Lol “I don’t like you guys” love it
0:38 I’m here for the guitar solo…
Its so squelchy
I feel so old to be able to call this a classic
Way to go Nick, you scored
The romance between them would have been in their heads and unspoken.
I'd be that way too if I was the company's computer guy and they all used Apple devices.
Love the multiple pagers!
I actually had TRON on Beta Max 🤣
Its collectable
Was it bundled with frogger?
Was it ever on laser disc?
me too!! Lol
@@yuvgotubekidding if it was then my uncle surely had it
I love all pagers Fallon has.
THESE ARE THE BEST I'M SO GLAD THEY ARE UPLOADING THEM NOW
SNL replies: Oh, by the way - you’re welcome!
Crazy this was 20 years ago
Love Nick!
The irony is their insistence on being smarter than everyone else and not realizing the "tech support" sign is on the wrong side of the door. It should be reversed.
I think we've all dealt with someone like this. lol
IT guys haven’t changed; only the technology has.
You're welcome!
They're a lot richer now.
@@GizmoMaltese Maybe Nick should ridicule me then... since I haven't figured out that part.
:,/
And yet, now they all likely make more $ than you. ;)
mooove!
Why does IT guys have so much power in this office?
Calista Flockhart does a great Nerd! Almost as good as Gilda.
2000. 20 years later, the same people are still too intentionally ignorant to know what a window's menu is. I feel bad for help desk professionals.
Hey that's my mom you are talking about! 🤣
Supreme irony how he has his own crew that gangs up on the "normal" guy.
Look at the size of that laptop!
3 nerds is bad enough, my company has a whole fleet.
Good god.
Good sketch! By the way is that Calista Flockhart?
yes it's her 😂😂
Woah - happened upon this exactly 20 years after it's release on 11/11/00. Loved this character. Crazy how tech has evolved so much just since then. I wonder what the spec comparisons between the latest MacBook Air announced yesterday versus that laptop that Chris Kattan brought in are?
I had a laptop resembling that, but it didn't make it across the 1/1/2000 barrier. It was a Compaq LTE 386SX, if I recall correctly.
American IT crowd
That was dope!
HOLY COW HE'S BACK!
ICONIC!!!!!
These are some good burns
Holy shit, that laptop must weigh like 10kg! (22lb in murican)
In America that's almost 7 hamburgers!
@@dqw4w9wgxcq32 or 10 moving boxes.
Boat Anchor!
22 Freedom Units! thats a mighty heavy laptop!
I think you were thinking of the Imperial system.
The accuracy of the crap on the shelf behind them just shows how great this show was back then.
Moooove!!
“mooooovvve”
Still makes me laugh
Why is "217 Technical Support" printed on the INSIDE of the door?
4:10, PlayStation 2. HAHAHAHAHA
Does anyone have a link to the original early 90's version (when they fix Windows machines)
Should have backed it up on a floppy disk
I know 2 guys who are exactly like this.
That lady at 0:21 pretty much describes my reaction everytime I see Jimmy Falon😍
Total props to Mikey Day's Butt Head, but Chris Parnell has got a pretty good unintentional impression happening!
I like the techs slacks...anybody knows what brand?
Dockers
WoW, an LCD monitor...
Bizarro World...where the uncool are what's cool!😎
He's funny as this character
When you nerds are done with your french horn lessons check out *_The IT Crowd._*
The British version, of course. It’s certainly unparalleled.
Love it! Terrific physical comedy, cast works so well together.
They need to work on the lingo, we dont say 56.6 modem we say 56k modem... Come on guys, geez....
Heh, nice bait man : )
"6.6" just showing their allegiances ...
*nervous laugh*
Fuck. 1998 isn’t THAT long ago, I was a sophomore in high school for Gods sake!

You're old if you know what they're talking about.

6 year old and only 27 comments!!
Yeah
Remember when everybody had a pager and we used pay phones that cost a dime?
2000 with lcd monitors ?
The first ones were released in the 90's
@@JachAnen Actually they appeared on smaller devices in the 1970's, and on portable computers in the 1980's.

I have hunters laptop and the China ambassador Nicholas Burns in my search history. I guess it pulls up this 8 year old video.
Please add captions to your videos!

SNL was funny back then
Ally McBeal
PlayStation 2? LMFAO
I don't understand one thing thay why do americans give preference to " not to live with your mom" ? I mean why? can someone clear that to me? My father died 2 years ago, my mom is alone and i can"t let her live alone. what's weird in that?
I'm sorry to hear about your dad, my condolances. You're very sweet to support your mom through rough times but you have to, at some point, go on with your own life and make your own little family, if thats what you want ofcourse. Your mom will have too aswell and she's probably a tough cookie so she will be fine, you can always visit but it gives you two a chance to develop again.
@@Romyzingt yeah ... That's not how India works.
Responsibility towards your parents comes first although it's slowly changing but still it is preferred to have a large joint family .
@Norbert Janz First of all, it's better for the relationship (and adiacent relationships) if grown ppl/couples have their own place - more privacy, can do what they want, don't have to please/answer to anybody but themselves etc. Secondly, it's pretty well known that a lot of mothers & their sons have odd relationships stemming from a weird kind of attachment and that can cause problems in a relationship...and unless there are some dire financial problems, if a grown man lives w/ his mother, then it can seem like he hasn't grown up and there's a weird relationship there...and women want a partner in a relationship, not to raise a man.
Even when I was a teenager sometimes my bf's mother frustrated me/us or poked her nose where it was none of her business or embarrassing situations happened b/c the house was too crowded...I can't imagine being a grown person and having to deal w/ all those things if I didn't have to.
It’s a cultural thing, partially due to the fact that a lot of American kids who attend college do so away from their hometown, which necessitates moving out. There’s also a cultural value in being independent. I’m Canadian and it’s pretty common for people to move out here too, well before they start a family of their own. I would say that for any North Americans [obviously not all, there are always exceptions] having your child move out and live successfully away from the family home would be seen as a sign of having been successful parent. That is starting to change though just because it’s really hard to start out now and things are a lot more expensive than they once were, so kids are starting to stay home longer.
@@violeta585 That's a key part of Anglo-American culture, this idea that you shouldn't have to please or answer to anybody but yourself. The rest of the world doesn't work like that.
I don't get the , "Your welcome!" Joke at the end?
@@mr.andmrs.adorable2033 ok, thanks for explaining!
Google "Sylvester Stallone Orange Julius". Back when Pentiums came out.
You know what times have really changed. Guys like that are on a shit load of money.
Speaking as someone who did tech support for decades ... NO, not true at ALL. Salaries for support technicians have dropped for the last 20 years when adjusted for inflation. It became harder and harder to make ends meet in that career, even if you continued getting wider experience and gaining more certifications.
@@richardadams4928 yup. Everything sucks for anyone but management and specialists. The shift towards companies outsourcing lousy call center support and then using contract companies that pay even worse is on the rise. Ironically, companies that full time their internal It staff do a lot better for the whole company. But short term financials look better even though it hurts their security and efficiency.
@@br0k3nman Absolutely. I lived it, brother.
is that Ariana Grande 's grandeMom ? hahaha
Who is this guy with the really old computer? He looks a lot like Shea Whigham.
Chris Kattan
Chris Parnell
Pets.com failed, but Chewy.com succeeded. HMMM
Jimmy Fallon
Renamed : Never Been Kissed 2.0
So this is where Jackie Chan at!
Indiana Jones disliked this video, especially the end scene.
in 2013, this guy should b Indian...
lol
Like what, pagers aren't cool... or what? Geez...
Paperclip into the pinhole for a hard reset fixes alot of laptop issues. Also IT Support is severely underpaid especially in the financial world, without you putting out their fires, those money guys would be lost.
😁
the only tolerable jimmy fallon character
You're more gracious than I am; I say he sucked raw eggs in this as well as every other SNL performance ever. Kattan and Parnell outshined him as usual which isn't hard to do. And they didn't buzz in Fallon's sketch like he does to everybody else. Of course, it wasn't funny, so nothing for them to break character over.
Agreed. He is a New World Order sellout, makes me sick 🤢
the dead silence and fake laughter by paid laughers really sell what its like telling jokes in my head as i troubleshoot peoples devices
The sexyman 48 line read was funny but otherwise meh
Ever notice that when Fallon was the lead in a sketch, he never broke character by laughing? But when he was a side character, he always cracked up (almost ruined the cowbell skit). He always tried to find a way to make it all about him. He’s a narcissist.
nick looks a little greasy...
my least favorite of these
