I tried the demo for 2 days and immediately bought it. This not only speeds up my workflow, but enhances it with the quick and easy time stretching. Way better than EXS24.
This sampler is INCREDIBLE when you use it with FL Studio and its piano roll. Actually it is not a sampler, but a kind of an automatic and highly intelligent chopper that divides songs into melodic loops. Never use it as a common sampler, but chop songs with it. For example, I have chopped "Emerald eyes" by Eric Johnson into very tragic hip-hop just in 60 seconds. This Serato Sampler is also great for UK funky house/jacking house, because due to its very intelligent engine you can produce grooves in bunches. And Serato sample suits to FL Studio BPM, so you always get ideal loops - no lags, no fractures, no clicks and cracks. Just ideal seamless loops all the time.
I've been using serato sample since it first came out about a year ago and it's really good. Like he said the time stretching and pitch controls are really good. Serato has been making DJing mixing software for years, that's what they're good at.
I found your channel by accident prior to this video I was using recycle propellerhead to chop my samples but after using this software it's a game changer.
3 years later and still a great plug-in.. I have used Ableton, Logic, Reason, Mashine, MPC and so on. This is so easy to use - especially for musical phrasing. Dope.
I already have this product but I have only been using it to find the key of my samples. Lol. Dope review! Thanks for doing it. Btw, I use Reason and MPC, it works well in both.
Looks Boss (that means great in Scouse). Thanks for video Accurate. Wanted to purchase this for a while. Thanks for code for discount brother. Great video as always dude. Keep up the 'Boss' work
Momentune Beats yeah! As Accurate as me :P I think picking slice points are a big part of the creative process so it’s all very subjective I think. They’re always tightly placed on the transients though if that’s what you’re asking. Thanks for watching!
Hi from Finland... do you prefer serato sample or the maschine sample workflow... I am wondering whether to buy the mk3 or stick with the mikro and serato... or both... also when using maschine and serato, and there are more than 16 chops, can you easily change octaves to be able to trigger the other chops that are out of range of the first 16 pads... the mikro is more complicated when changing the octaves
can you make a video comparing maschine sampling work flow vs serato... Yes i get maschine is hardware at the same time. but i think it will be cool so that people can see side by side which one works best for them as a sampling too based on your piont of view.
hey just wondering, how do you increase the sensitivity so serato sample creates more chops? Please tell me thats doable. Im used to Recycle but i just bought this and thats the thing i cant figure out right now. Thanks a bunch and sorry if i missed it in the video.
Nice review. I always chop sounds by Ableton Push2 and Simpler. When I sit down in front of Push2, its perfect for slicing any sounds. But I use Ableton Live outside without Push2, it sucks. This software might be useful when I only have computer keyboards. I have a question. Can this software copy a sound to another pads? MPC and Ableton can. I often use just one chord sample and copy it to another three or four pads. I change pitch of them and make some chord progressions.
To answer your question: yes. That absolutely works great and because of the awsome time stretching algorithms you’ll end up with great results. Thanks
Is this even worth it for users of Ableton Live? Ableton can do all of this natively pretty easily, which I own (10 Suite). I own a Novation Circuit, so Novation is offering me the LE version of this for free and I can't decide if it's even worth the hard drive space or not. I know for a fact Ableton Live can do everything shown in this video so if someone could explain anything this has on Ableton I'll be grateful and consider downloading.
a little off topic, but how did you get your icons on your desktop so tiny? my desktop is CLUTTERED with icons and folders. harder to juggle the folders and icons than it is some of my old vinyl lol
Serato sample is actually very useful even inside of machine because of timestretch/pitch that are way better than stock maschine. also key detect if you're into that.
Lol.....it tells you the key of the sample, time stretches for you, AND finds samples. There isn’t another software sample that does all three. 100 dollars is cheap for what this does
I second that :) in good DAWs that you know well enough you can get this done relatively easy. I am programmer myself and programmers have to EAT (!) too, but handy tools, even cool like that one, would better be priced at iPhone app level to really get them spread around.
Hi accurate beats. I want to ask you how you made only 16pads to appear in your serato sample plugin. In my serato sample vst i always have 32 pads displayed and i want to make it 16 like yours
Thank you for the video, Accurate. I am a total newbie, but can you briefly tell me what's the difference between chopping a sample in Serato Sample than it is if you were using an MPC One, Live II, or X? Thank you. Blessings!
Honestly; there isn’t much of a difference when you think about it. Serato sample has a few features like it’s own pitch detection and the powerful time stretching algorithms that the MPC’s do a little bit slower… Other than for stuff like that, many people just prefer to use a hardware device over using a mouse and a keyboard for working with samples. The process just feels different somehow. Basically they’re different tools for the same job. One is not better than the other, different strokes for different folks and all that. Ill get better at replying to comments, thanks for reminding me! I’ll soon have more time on my hands to work on RUclips and paying more attention to the emails, comments and DM’s I get is 100% on the agenda! Love/ Acc
@@AccurateBeats Thank you so much, Accurate. I really appreciate you responding to me. It means a lot. Thank you for all you do and I am glad to see you are doing better. You have made me a subscriber. Blessings to you!
Does anyone know how to change the note velocity when using serato sample?? In simpler I can draw in the note velocity but it does not seem to work in serato sample. everything is at a set volume even if the velocity is drawn in different.
This is pretty neat! I still prefer using newTime in conjunction with SliceX, but this might be a nice alternative should I be on the go and in a time crunch
Obviously, this dude ignores his subscribers and visitors. To answer your question, I found out that the best way to save those chops is to make your chop points. edit them to your preference, and record those chops individually into your DAW sequencer using your keyboard controller. After they are recorded into midi files, you have to then export those midi files into audio files/regions. Lastly, you have to export those audio files/regions out of your DAW into a folder as WAVs/ MP3s/ or whatever you chose as an audio file format. Lot of work. Some say just buy yourself a Roland MV 8800. For example, can easily rip audio from a CD at any start and stop point, then automatically or manually slice them perfectly and allow you to export ALL simultaneously into folders.
I really don't get why you can't play the sample only to the next cue point. Am I the only one who miss this feature every other sampler has? 16 samples is also not that much. Key detection is not very accurate so it become pointless. It has some great features but I struggle to work with it.
You don't know what to compare it with ?!?! hehe MPC on a computer keyboard and NI flow downsized to essential :) Very neat plug and cool review Accurate! .... and the dudes seems targeting new niche of musicians who obsessed with their prod and need to keep playing even at work computer during programming hours :) like prock who cannot decide which MK3 to keep, because either one is still noticeable on the office table...... .... with playing keyboard. when boss walks in, he gets really impressed how passionate and rhythmic my programming truly is LMAO
Hahaha! Well put man! I didn’t even think of that! I could use this at the office with no problems at all! Thanks for watching the video! I appreciate the support!
This is actually quite functional and it looks like a good speedy workflow solution, but yea...$100 is just too steep. Maybe like $30-$50 tops. No way I'm spending $100.
This is a great sampler but its a dam shame it doesn't allow you to preview the sample (in cubase ) before you load it ...that is a major workflow killer
darrell dudley thanks! Well... I’ve been using Logic for years and I really like it a lot! This kind of workflow with Serato Sample is really nice. It’s very different to using Maschine as a sequencer but Logic definitely has its own qualities!
I tried the demo for 2 days and immediately bought it. This not only speeds up my workflow, but enhances it with the quick and easy time stretching. Way better than EXS24.
will it work with my Roland SP-404 MKII?

True!!
Before they made DJ software they made Pitch 'n Time, which is a timestretching and pitch shifting plugin.
Thanks dude, this video made me pull the trigger on getting it! Seems much more straightforward than EXS24
I have used Serato Sample inside Maschine a few times. Great option when you want something different.

Oh really? That’s a really nice function. The pitching sounds very natural as well

can serato sample find the key of acapella tracks?
yup
i was considering getting this but i already have Sampler track in Cubase which is just as good
Nice overview. Very interesting. It's good to have options with how you sample and what you can do with the samples.
Luke Kage absolutely! And Maschine still can’t do real-time time stretching so “Sample” comes in really handy!
i learned something new watching this vid thanks ...
I even use this in maschine sometimes
Me too! I have a beatvideo coming up in a few days where I do just that. It’s a great workaround for Maschines lack of real-time time stretching.
Very good overview...Danke
Is the detection Accurate though?
