I feel like, my biggest advice for anyone who really wants to breast feed id suggest stay away from pumping. It’s quite common that pumping can mess up your supply. It’s always best to establish a feeding schedule exclusively on breast first. I think it’s mostly recommended to start using breast pumps after 6 weeks. I’d also recommend not buying formula (just in case) this puts the temptation to almost give up too soon at the first obstacle you may come across. For example a very common mistake women think when they are BFing their baby is that when they are constantly on you and wanting milk the mum often thinks their supply isn’t there. But a lot of the time this really isnt the case! Your baby is cluster feeding and establishing a supply and this is extremely normal! The first few weeks of breastfeeding is the hardest and once you get past that you usually shouldn’t find any problems. Please note I know Obviously everyone is different, some may disagree, I’m just offering my own personal experience breast fed 2 babies till they were 2 ♥️
Great advice! I didn’t agree with the buying “emergency formula” either as breastfeeding is hard, it’s so easy to cave in but on day 4 your milk isn’t even fully in. I breastfed two babies till nearly 2 years old. It’s just one of those things you just need to perserveer with if you genuinely want to do it ❤
Couldn't disagree more. I liked having an emergency formula in the cupboard because if my milk suddenly dried up at 2am I knew I had a backup. I breastfed for 4 weeks and only used formula once... didn't really feel tempted just gave it to her hoping for extra sleep and it didn't work so didn't bother afterwards. I'm also aware 4 weeks isn't very long and that it takes at least 6 weeks to settle into a BF routine but I had severe mastitis which ended up forcing me to stop breastfeeding. Shame I'd have loved to have done longer but don't regret giving it up obviously now that I have a healthy 3 Yr old.
100% agree with this. I remember having issues with my latch so I attempted a pump but when I thought I wasn't getting much I panicked (day 3). Thankfully my neighbour was a breastfeeding consultant and came over in the morning after a 2am text. My baby was on me for 40 mins to an hour each feed too so you can imagine how painful that was. There's definitely not enough information about breastfeeding out there. However, on the other hand, if you cannot product just remember that fed is best.
I’m glad I had emergency formula in when I was breast feeding my 4th child as 6 weeks after she was born I was rushed to hospital in middle of the night and baby couldn’t be took in on the ward as I had have morphine iv and such and if wasn’t for emergency formula I had in just in case her dad wouldn’t able to fed her in the middle of the night . I know not common that mother would be rushed into emergency hospital and operated on but never know what’s around the corner so best to be safe then sorry . Everyone is different of course and one thing we all agree on is we do what’s best for our own baby ❤ xx
I can’t express how thankful I am for this video. I am currently pregnant and super overwhelmed with the amount of things on the market. Good luck with your journey ❤
I'm not pregnant and don't plan on having kids but I find these videos so great for understanding what my friends will need when pregnant, or post partem! It's also great for baby shower ideas, thank you! 💕😊
Age 38 and just found out that I am expecting again. Times have changed as its been almost a decade since my last so found this very useful. Thank you. Xx
Hey all! Third time mom here to offer some tips. Instead of a white noise machine, I use box fans. I have one in each child's room as well as out in the hallway. This not only helps with white noise, but it also keeps the room cool, which aids with sleep, AND studies have shown that having air circulate can help lessen the risk of SIDS (they believe that an improper oxygen/co2 balance in the blood is what causes SIDS). Also, first-time moms (myself included) tend to be overzealous with the diaper changes. Unless they have a full diaper
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I watched your last vlog last night and I couldn't stop smiling because you're a lovely family you and Con are such great parents Saint is so good with his words at his age love to allxx
Not me watching this over the course of an hour pausing to add everything into my baby wish list 😂 god bless you for this video!! Baby due September and new mum panic is sinking in 😅 xx
Pregnant with baby g number 4 and really enjoyed your video , it was really in-depth and I love hearing about other mothers thoughts and opinion about certain baby products , your positive attitude makes it that much mor enjoyable to watch 😊 Thank you ❤
Loving your podcast! It's wonderful ❤️ not sure if anyone has mentioned that on the podcast the adverts are quite a lot louder than your mic (I'm listening on Spotify if that makes a difference!) so if there's a way to turn your mic/recordings up that would be fab! Thank you for all your positive vibes, your presence on this earth is so needed x
This is so handy to know. I'm not pregnant right now but hope to start a family within the next couple of year so thankyou for this :) I'll come back to this video at the time x
Love watching your Video🥰 my children are all grown up and have Kiddies of their own..but anything to do with Baby things I still Love❤️ Thank's for Sharing Elle💖
I think the fact with the new borns& black & white is the fact that their vision is still coming in so eyes can still be blurry & colours are more overwhelming then the crisp contrast of black & white. I could also be wrong but that’s what I’ve thought aha ❤
The mummaroo was a godsend to my boy!! He had sever colic and it was the only thing that would soothe him! I’m currently expecting baby n0 2 and I’m so glad I’ve kept it 4 years on as I’ll definitely be using it again!
Having another baby 18 years after my first born, I’ve been overwhelmed with how many products there are available now. Some of them genius, most unnecessary. I got by just fine without half of the gadgets with my daughter but that being said some of it will definitely make new born life easier. My Baby boy will be here by the end of March 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awyou look radiant Elle. I don't have children myself , but I love watching you still anyway. Love the beautiful blue hoodie too. Where is it from please? X
Everyone is different but like you, Arthur didn’t take to a swing/bouncer and with Fred (20 months later) we didn’t use it again as actually it felt unsafe to us with little Arthur running around and being interested. He could knock into it or push Fred without being mean. I hope that makes sense xx
The baby brezza sounded so good I bought it! However a little stuck on what water goes in this? Tap or cooled boiled water? And what temperature setting to set the machine on to be able to give baby the bottle straight away? Advice appreciated🫶🏼
Hi Elle , loved this video, I’ve just had my 4th and final baby, and used pretty much every single thing you’ve mentioned over the years, and I agree with all of your recommendations. Advice on the brezza pleaseeeee! We have it and got scared out of using it,after seeing it should be used with special water or something ?! We ended up buying another prep machine but I was SO EXCITED to use the brezza 😢especially having 3 other young kids it will help me out time wise!xxxxx
Hey, thanks for this video. Where did you get your large swaddle cloth / blankets from? They look to be a better size that the ones I have bought. Thanks xx
Everyone’s experience and preferences will be different. Every baby is so different as well, so what worked for your first might not work for your second ❤
We used an AngelCare mesh bath seat for the first six months and yeah, they're great HOWEVER... it means running the bath and using more water, so for our 2nd baby we're just gonna buy the old fashioned baby bath so we use less water and gas. I do 100% recommend the next AngelCare bath seat though - the actual one with leg holes... Moses basket for us, used it once. Elvie pumps, I agree... waste of money. Very overpriced, not that great, measurements were off, battery life was poor and they leaked every time I even slightly bent over. Mine died just over a year after getting them which meant they were out of warranty. 😭 I much preferred my manual pump, and I got more milk out manually pumping.
Some one got the mamaroo chair for our son when he was born 6 years ago and our health visitor said the swing seat are bad for babies back so got rid of it and got him a colourful playmat and colourful sensory toy arch to go over his changing mat to keep.him occupied
I wouldn’t have survived without the mummaroo my son had colic and it was the only thing that would settle him. We didn’t use it till he was around 6 weeks though as we brought it late. 4 years on and I’m now pregnant with baby n0 2 and I’m so glad I kept it. I’ll definitely be using it again!
Try a hairdryer elle or anyone else it help nephew he used fall asleep it work till he seven months you don't right near baby just put dryer on apparently the noise is like the sound women if people can't afford a white noise machine
I think being a first time mam you wanna make sure you got everything everyone is recommending but the more kids you have you’ll realise you didn’t even use half of the stuff anyway I’m due my third daughter in June and I’ve not once used a prep machine

My kids grew so quickly feels like yesterday they was born but oldest is 21 this year and youngest is 14 I get told can’t have 21 year old lol as I’m 38 they don’t believe me and towers over me … I wish I had a Time Machine to go back at times and enjoy all them moments again xx ❤

I pumped exclusively, my supply was always excessive. Very diligent with my pump schedule for the first 8 weeks though. Night nor day every 2 hours.
Me without any children watching like 👁️👄👁️
