Wait what? So the treble accuracy is 7.1 based off your old methodology, but now all of the sudden it has changed to 9.7 thanks to your “small” adjustments? The results of your tests are completely inconsistent and we can no longer rely on your tests especially since we can’t even compare older headphones with newer ones. This is totally unacceptable.
I have the XM5s and was considering switching to the Bose QCU. I enjoy the sound of the QCUs more and like that they’re more compact, but I wound up sending them back. Turns out, you can’t turn the ANC off and use them as regular old headphones unless they’re powered off and plugged into a device with the detachable cable. Otherwise your options are ANC on or transparency mode on, which I found really frustrating as someone with tinnitus which is made worse by ANC. The XM5s can have ANC, transparency mode, or just regular old headphones mode. I find it bewildering that the QCUs can’t do the same.
So can i disable the custom tuning feature? My glasses make headphones stick out a bit (not sealed around my ear), and im wondering if this is why the bass keeps cutting in and out. Ive returned 2 jbl headphones bc of this, and was looking at trying these, but when u mentioned the drop of bass at 3:30mins, now im wondering if all headphones with this feature will be garbage for me...
Honestly, these appear to be a good pair of headphones for the average listener. That mid-bass bump surely will be really satisfying for the majority of listeners. Features make it stand out even more as all-in-one buy and forget kind of headphone. P.S: I like Vanessa as a host 😉
Love this site. Unfortunately, despite these scientific tests, I didnt find that the Ultra noise cancelation was much better than my quiet comfort 35ii. They still dont block enough noises like crying babies and loud talking. It just isnt worth the price they are asking for if you already own one of the last 3 or so generations.
All Bose NC products are different from the rest of the industry. They are designed to block the frequencies that phycologically impact our hearing the most during our day. They don't affect the rest of the spectrum as much for safety reasons. The goal is to make them less physiologically and physically demanding during very long listening sessions.
Nothing happened! We've started a few new channels to target different users we have, but otherwise same people! What specifically are you not a fan of?
This channel deserves more subs

I’m upgrading to the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Noise Cancelling Headphones (Sandstone)
We'd love to hear what you think once you get them!
