Smith had that early, and made a few decent plays in the end. But like how short the video was, that kinda shows how the defense locked him up pretty well that night. He only had 60 yards which was third on his team that night. So I guess you could say he distracted the defense, but that's not the question. And 31 of those yards were on one play which I dont think was vs either DRC or Nnamdi. He also only had a 57% catch rate that night on just 7 targets. Not great for a no 1 receiver.
NFL Matchup Highlights DRC kept him under 30 yards. Nnamdi only gave up the 6 yard slant. The one big play Steve had wasnt against DRC it Nnamdi. It was an good matchup pretty even. Steve had a couple other opportunities when he was open to make some plays but Cam couldn’t get it to him
JAMES HARDEN 3time dpoy I agree. Nnamdi, as far as shutting down a WR was as good if not better than any CB I’ve seen. But he wasn’t the playmaker of Woodson, Bailey, Revis, Deion, etc. Also was the most feared CB and least targeted CB ever. He was great. If only people knew....
Top notch Taj Mahal he didn’t travel as much as some but he did travel occasionally in some games against guys like Fitzgerald, Crabtree, Moss, etc. The defensive coordinator has to let his players travel too.
Nope he was never really hof material just the team he was on just was weaker every where else why would I throw deep balls when my running back can run for 8+ yrds a pop and can get 15+yards on passing plays on the other side of namdi why even bother he got exposed in Philly not that good imo
Nnamdi forced qbs to second guess if he was covering a read but I agree he didn’t fit whatever scheme my birds had going I believe he still had the talent at the time.maybe nfc receivers were( and are) better
supratrd900 facts. Imo Nnamdi was the best man to man corner in the league from 06-2011. The defensive coordinator wanted him to play safety, play off coverage and lots of zone. It’s like putting Tom Brady in a read option 😂 why would you do that?
@@BOBBYBOMACLLC Compare their defense in both primes. Revis play on a highly rank D with the Jets and good DC turn shitty HC in Rex Ryan. Nnamdi was the only bright spot in Oakland. Revis in his prime got burn by guys like Ted Ginn. Not to mention he got toasted by a QB turn WR in Pryor. I don't remember Nnamdi getting beat deep by someone like Ted Ginn. Revis is great but he's overrated in some way. People act like he's the best corner since Deion but forget about some other 24 that play for the Broncos. Champ was still balling in his 30. Once Revis hit 30 he quit on his team.
@@objisthesht2211 That's the dumbest narrative that gets parroted around. NFL teams don't run the same coverages on every play, and most "zone" coverages are really "hybrid" or "pattern-matching" schemes that incorporate man-to-man principles and should look almost identical to man coverage when against certain route combinations (i.e. 4 verticals). If a CB is getting cooked on a team full of other star DBs, that's not a good look, regardless of what they call their coverages.
How did Smith eat him for lunch when he only had one catch in clip on a Cover 3 zone 🤡? Secondly, he did make pro bowl as his first year with Eagles. Some of u cats talking are like skirts getting gossip without the actual fxmacta to back it up. The D coordinator was the problem not matching personnel to maximize skillsets
Who won the matchup? Steve Smith or Nnamdi Asomugha and DRC? 🤔
Steve smith Sr

I think Steve smith
NFL Matchup Highlights hey can u do sum film on Brandon flowers ? Former Kansas City chiefs corner
Feel like nnamdi could’ve been a HOFer if he didn’t go to the eagles

Like when josh Norman went to the skins
NFL Matchup Highlights yea and also add in nnamdi didn’t travel as well he lined up on one side more then 85% of the time

Like the eagles get a man to man CB and make him play zone ofc he not gonna do that good in playing zone.
Right? Looked like cover 3 on many of those completions. Mid level out routes, like shootin fish in a barrel
Zone is easier duh
He was great when no one tested him. Guy was a product of hype and reputation and he got exposed.
@@danthomas9170 you don’t even know what your talking about that’s like trading for shaq in his prime and forcing him to shoot long 2s and corner 3s
Bro played ZONE in OAK what are you talking about lol that’s what he was known does went to Philly and couldn’t play in the cold is what happened.
Nandi was TRASH!!
Steve Smith is so underrated
Steve Smith was a great receiver in Carolina and Baltimore
As an eagles fan steve Smith won this one
Amazing how Cam Newton is accurate with better recivers.
Nnamdi forced qbs to second guess if he was covering a read but I agree he didn’t fit whatever scheme my birds had going I believe he still had the talent at the time.maybe nfc receivers were( and are) better
q c I think it was more scheme. The AFC still had guys like Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne Chad Ochocinco and Dwayne Bowe
The Eagles had an offensive line coach as the DC we all know the scheme was awful.
When Nnamdi came to the eagles he got sorry af
Cause he was force to play as a zone corner. He was better in man to man coverage. Nnamdi at his best was better than Revis imo.
@@supratrd900 I feel u but better than revis I highly doubt that

@Twan Burger exactly
Asomugha showed how he was historically overrated when he went to play for the Eagles. Steve Smith ate him for lunch.
Boy WHAT are you talking about, Asomugha is a man CB.....
Devin Ray Eagles made him a zone CB when that wasn’t his strength, get your facts straight before making dumb comments
OBJ Sucks 👀 tell em

2:19 who else saw the touchdown on the top of the screen
Not good 👎
Also nice job using a thumbs down emoji!
