Oh Lord, I knew as soon as “get the gossip from the boyfriend at work” was said in follow-up 1 that the best friend had cheated with the (now ex-)boyfriend! It’s just weird for someone to insert themselves into somebody else’s relationship problems like that - they had definitely already cheated together. The best friend may have felt guilty and tried to overcompensate by saying she’ll find out what happened (but she already knew!) and possibly why the best friend initially rejected the boyfriend.
Wild, but not surprising. The positive of the situation is the girl that wrote in found out how dysfunctional both her best friend and boyfriend are - she’s better off without both of them in her life!
