Hi, thanks for the awesome review on a beautiful machine! Im curious what the material of gray part (teeth) of the clamps is. Is it solid aluminum alloy or steel with gray matte finish? would aluminum alloy be durable enough for heavy use on tennis or badminton strings?
It's solid aluminum that is covered with some sort of anodized coating. I own and use those clamps now for two years and they show *zero* wear. So if you treat them normally, they seem to be really robust. The clamps and bases to me are still the best parts of the whole machine tbh.
@@saitenkiller Thank you very much for the reply! Now I'm waiting for tennisman to have them back in stock. Can't wait to get my hands on my own machine. Lol. Another question though, is the tension head gripper located pretty far from the racket once it's mounted? Is it possible to move the tension head closer to the turntable? Would I have to drill holes in the base to do that? Thank you!
@@3cats1bear Funny thing you mention this. I’ve modded mine a while ago to get the WISE closer to the turntable. See my post in the BadmintonCentral forum: www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/share-pictures-of-your-stringing-machines.110074/page-24#post-2735371 All it needed was to drill two holes in the mounting plate. So an easy thing to do if you really want to. 😆
cbrbb75 The 2086 simply gets the job done and is a robust piece of gear. Of course, it’s slower and noisier than the tensioner of a higher end integrated machine, but for the money, I don’t see any real alternatives. Also, you see the Version 11 in the video, the later versions are supposed to be more smooth and less noisy. So if you want to go electric and don’t want to spend a fortune, then the 2086 is a safe bet imo.
cbrbb75 I don’t think the motor will be the limiting factor when it comes to chain-stringing. Your back and fingers will beg for mercy long before the motor will even raise an eyebrow. I know a guy who strung for Vitor at the All England Championships for a few years using a machine with a WISE 2086 on it. He went through 30+ rackets in a row at times and never had any issues with the motor. So it's fair to say that it's a very reliable piece of gear. Regarding Pro’sPro - you get what you pay for. I started on a PP Challenger machine and hated every minute I spent with it. I haven’t seen or used the MT400 though so I can’t make a real judgment about that specific machine. Be aware that the word “customer service” does not exist for Pro’s Pro as a company if you decide to order from them directly.
@@saitenkiller I also saw your third video and when wise release the string seems the clamp doesn't move neither a mm, do you confirm? When I used baiardo with 7000 racket done the clamp moved a lot more...thank you
In the most recent version of the machine that is currently shipped, it comes with the standard 5-tooth clamps and main supports for both badminton and tennis. Also note that the design of the side supports has changed from the version you see in the video to fit both badminton and tennis.
@@saitenkiller thank you. the standard 5-tooth is the same clamp in the video? i just want to make sure before placing order. this machine looks very robust. do i need to order additional tools for badminton?
@@ariesgarcera2290 Yes, the 5 tooth clamps are still the same as in the video. They have only given them a bit of red on the lever instead of black, but that's it. The machine comes with all the tools and features needed to string badminton rackets.

@@saitenkiller Thx for the link, although I will be stringing tennisrackets. I just received my new machine today. I do have one more question on this video. you spoke of the clam settings for the 5 teeth tennis clam and you set the wheel on the back to 2 clicks over the 0 to be a safe setting. Now to be sure, is that then 2 clicks forward between 0 and 5 or 2 clicks back between 31 and 0?
@@jimmyvdp80 Actually, I wouldn't count on all the clamps being exactly the same when it comes to the setting. So I think it's best to simply test the right setting for yourself and the string you are using. You can follow the same procedure as in here: ruclips.net/video/X-ck2YCJ9RA/видео.html, simply use the tennis string. It might be necessary to adjust the clamp setting with different strings so it will take some experience to get a feel for this. My approach is always to better go slightly tighter than having it too loose and risk slipping. Cause that will both damage the string and destroy the tension.
Hi, really a good review. Just curious about the difference between deluxe se vs 4000 apart from stand? Your reply would be much helpful.
Thank you.
The 4000 has standard "lever style" clamp bases. The Deluxes have those sweet press-down ones. Apart from that, they appear to be identical.
