I would love a continuation of Vikings focused on Rollo in Normandy.
Same instead they made Valhalla Rising or whatever its called
I loved Clive’s idea of doing a series during the time when Ragnar disappeared for 15 years and being able to bring back most if not all the cast of the original series.
What I loved about Vikings, is that the characters were never perfect heroes or villains, but humans who got it wrong as often as they got it right. All legends of course.
With all this talk of performance and how one puts themselves into who they play for the audience, I can't help but feel insanely happy at watching how Johan's natural jolliness and enthusiasm appear in this interview. All of a sudden those hearty "HA HA!" moments and chuckles on stage make a lot of sense :)
Do same with Travis Fimmel!
Clive Standen has really made himself the custodian of Vikings
What a great man! Respect and admiration to Clive for being interested and meticulous about his profession and the projects he partakes in. I think this interview gives fans of the show insight that will add value to future rewatchings of the series. Clive also seems very humble and group oriented, which makes him even more likeable. Skål!
Rollo rules ! Greatings from celtic 🇦🇹 to Clive and Grimfrost !
Bajuwaren sind germanisch und somit auch die Österreicher, der keltische Anteil ist eher gering.
A Viking man can impress women by demonstrating how he takes his longship up a canal to deliver seeds which can be planted in fertile places.
😂
⚔️🔥
Wat are you on about you make no sense
@@ashlykuhn2220 Are you not a native speaker of English?
Dearest thanks to Clive Standen for coming out to do this podcast and talk about his experiences on the show. What a blast to hear first-hand such amazing stories from a humble and well-spoken actor who truly cares for the show and his craft! Vikings will always remain a series very dear to my heart. Seeing stories spoken about the show is like reuniting with an old friend.
The greatest TV show ever made, bring it back!
Nah, they'll ruin it. Back then Viking show years and today's world are not the same. A so many changed and im pretty sure it would be wokefest. Vikings valhalla is a good example.
@@darkside791 yeah, wokeings wokehalla sucked ass. but the original series was good. Woke garbage is on it's way out so it's time for a real viking show again.
@@RuthlessMetalYT That's what im afraid of. It may not be the real Viking show again 😂 but lets hope.
Kind of hard, considering all the main characters are dead.
@@antona.8659 haha, yeah you're right.
Viking women were some of the greatest people. They worked so hard and contributed so much to their society.
Loved this !! To me, Clive, Travis, Gustav, Alex Høgh and Alexander Ludwig really nailed their Jobs on this show. ❤ loved it from beginning to end.
Vikings valhalla is cool and all, but VIKINGS was epic!
This is so awesome, was just sitting here to order a pair of shorts and I saw there was a link to youtube and this was just uploaded! Skål!
What an amazing interview!!!
Great podcast, loved hearing Clive’s view on the show. Always nice to hear when actors are passionate about the show they’re working on. I agree that vikings needs to keep producing spin offs in different time periods as there’s so much story to work on, especially if the members of the cast are up for it! Would also love to see more podcasts with the Viking’s cast.
What an awesome collab, needed this!
I've only watched a few episodes of Vikings but this interview was awesome. The interviewer asked some very interesting questions, and the interview is such an easy listen: so well-informed on both parts and it flows like a friendly and easy conversation. Clive comes across so well: he's well-spoken, down-to-earth, and passionate about his role and pays plenty of credit to his colleagues. Loved watching this, thank you!
Clive is extremely intelligent and educated. Great personality too.
Thanks for this, team. Enjoying it while I paint a portrait.
Now get Travis Fimmel and/or Gustaf Skarsgård
Rolo rocks!!
I'd have to visit Sweden one day!! Great show
Its nice and good to have a big family 🥰 viking family👍🏻
Glad I found this! 🤘
This was great, really interesting conversation! Loving the podcast, keep e'm coming!
Awesome 🤙
Greetings from Orkneyjar 😉🏴🇳🇴
Love it! Clive always well spoken. Inspired by the Vikings, I did a trip to Norway to meet modern day Vikings of Gudvangen and did a interview on my channel!
I love Clive Standen as an actor and appreciate that he has done a lot of research before going into this role, but I think his very good intentions were undermined by those above him who decided how the story would play out. To me, the show was ruined by Rollo's betrayal in France (and the very notable lack of historicity in general). The actual Rollo did become leader of Normandy without betraying anyone, and he did not introduce the feudal system, which was already there.
William the Conqueror is now featuring in the final season of Vikings Valhalla .....
This was a nice conversation between two who share common interests.
The TV Show was inspirational, or at least it was for me. I don't care about the historic accuracy, or how good certain chapters were, the show provides certain model, it tells a story like sagas did, and then it is up to people what to do with it.
If you want a better understanding of the history, it motivates you to read books, and if you like the looks, it brings new conversations with your barber.
I started growing my beard, and I since been to Roskilde, Oslo, Gudvangen, Borg...
Some people get tattoos of characters, or an Ægishjálmur, whatever inspires them.
As Johan said, there are Mexican Vikings, of course they are! Because Viking is a verb, is something that you do, is something that you become, no matter where you were born.
And as for the show, please invite other guests, it would be super interesting to have Katheryn, Gustav, Georgia or Peter, along with Travis, of course. They all played good characters and for sure would have good stories to tell.
Skal! for Johan and Grimfrost crew, thank you for your time and effort.
Gustaf is right. It’s NOT just a tv show.
I love Rollo ❤❤
oh wow this is surreal
Awesome!!
I'm worried. I always liked Rollo and, to find out he was supposed to be a villain makes me question my place in reality. 😅
✌ from Kentucky
My 2 favorite shows of all time so far is vikings and sons of anarchy and my 2 favorite shows got there own podcasts this is awsome well i think soa got a podcast lol
Great Guest!!
Rollo is by far the best character with the best character development in my opinion. I loved Rollo even when I hated him I loved him. Even when he was being a brute I loved him. Sometimes I think he was more bear than man😅 but I loved him
Wat about ubbe ragnar or Erik and torstein and wat he did to one eye
Now get Travis 😈
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rollo was my favourite!!
Tack
Super❤💪
Is that Johan from Amon Amarth
I think the one thing that irritated me about the show was how they portrayed the wife of Rollo, I am nitpicky about it, and I know its a show but it just bugged and bugged me because Rollo's partner and historically speaking was Poppa of Bayeux, they say a woman named Gisela was the mother of his son but no historical record of her at all. The only one mentioned in historical record is Poppa, a daughter of a frankish count. I think its hilarious when you see your long dead ancestors portrayed on shows, Rollo was mine. Clive played him well and was definitely a loved and hated character at the same time but that is how good he is.
The character Rollo gets a lot of hate. For betraying Ragna. But history has it. Rollo founded the Normans. Who would eventually rule England for 500 years. And found dynasties in Italy and the Middle East.
Great interview :)
Not an amon amarth fan, but a fan of the pod.
I'm pretty sure that's the lead singer to the band amon amarth
It is.
👍👍
❤
First!
so... laser raptors?
Will you ask Clive about the Danish government arresting Captain Paul Watson and handing him over to Japan?
Show as entertainment was ok, but as for historical accuracy it was as accurate as Marvel movies. Costume design was atrocious whoever was in charge of that should never work in tv series or films.
I agree with some parts but there actually is alot of accuracy like for instance Ragnars sons the one that limps actually did become a concorer like in show🎉 and the one son that ended up with indigenous people that is possibly true because they have recently found viking remains by an old indigenous village in documentary I watched
@@rileygarraway87 bro they crammed people from Scandinavia who lived 400 years apart , Rus invading Scandinavia? Rollo brother to Ragnar? And so much more
@@Cardan011yes but I stand by what I say because of Vikings documentary info they found
Rollo is one of my ancesters.
Once a traitor always a traitor...
I can’t even express how much I hate that stupid series
Clive has an inner producer not hidden that well in him, its pretty much out there now. And hey i support that idea of a spin-off that he talks about..!❤
I'd fugg with it...🫡
