It's normal in the sense that it's a common thing for many teens to do. Lots of us have done some odd shit when it came to our crushes back in our school days. It's a part of being a hormonal teen with a brain that's not fully developed. I would secretly smell my crush when she walked passed me. So long as it doesn't fall into truly unhealthy territory, it's nothing to be concerned about.
