I am okay Denise , looking forward to Christmas and will be retiring when the summer holidays start after that. As a nurse in an Aged care facility I feel I have been thrown to hell and back these past 4 years and I am now feeling the impact of that stress, don’t won’t to be a nurse anymore, done with giving giving and then expected to give and smile more. Knitting ( especially socks) have been so therapeutic and the forums members and RUclips Chanel’s personalities like you have been a blessing to my sanity. Thank you so much for your hardwork Denise. I am now looking forward to more sock knitting (I found myself the local Queen of sock making), maybe a course or two on barista. One door closes another opens, lucky I live where I do, have a safe Christmas you and everyone in this community. 🍻 Cheers

Spending time with my nine year granddaughter crafting and cookie baking for the holidays and seeing the magic through her eyes makes this time of year extra special. Each year we go through a Christmas recipe cookie book and she will write her age and date we made them. It’s such a fond keepsake each year as we turn a page to see her writing from previous years. It’s definitely sock knitting this time of year for me. Yay for vlogmas and I’m so happy you are joining in!

I have been learning to enjoy the moments as they happen and not getting frustrated or stressed when things don't happen the way "they have always been." I'm having such fun organizing quilting, yarn, and house projects for the new year! 2024 is going to be the year to FINISH many of these things!

In my own little corner of the world I find that i won't be able to visit my daughter and other loved ones due to vacation time sucked away by increasing illness. Truly, this month is "I am making time to do the things I want for the holidays!" I will be getting back into putting ALL the decorations out (almost finished), back to making my fav candies with my Mom, making Christmas special again for my kids (young men! 23 and 27). I have never experienced an advent but have always admired those who do get them. It's been quite a journey hanging with you, and I wouldn't change a thing. Denise you are so sweet! Christmas has always been hard for me but I try to always put up a tree with lots of colorful lights (new kitten this year should prove to be interesting) We moved to Arkansas from Oregon 2 1/2 years ago and still don’t know anyone here except our neighbor. I was diagnosed with cancer about a year after moving here and then my husband was bitten by a Brown Recluse and it got very infected, he ended up in the hospital for 5 weeks right after my radiation therapy, he almost died. Anyway having said all that I want to make this Holiday season a season of gratefulness, thankfulness etc that we both survived (I just had my year and a half after surgery PET scan and again it was clear)! Here in Sydney, Australia we are waiting for the bushfire season to properly start. I’m a volunteer firefighter so will be busy fighting fires when that kicks off. Knitting helps keep me happy.
So great to see you again so soon! We are changing our family traditions as our children are adults now and we are all trying to live more minimalist. So focus will be on time spent together rather than the craziness of multi-gift purchasing for everyone. Of course, I've made socks for each of them and, although it is odd to not be stressed over wracking my brain for gift ideas, shopping, wrapping, etc., I am very much enjoying the slower pace and more intentional attention to the holidays as a time to enjoy each other and reconnect. The festive season is not always great for me as my family live far from home, but I do enjoy the run up to Christmas and all the feelings of goodwill and seasonal movies etc. I make my home “hygge” and buy myself treats, and I will be having Christmas dinner with friends, which leaves me plenty of knitting time and cosying up on the sofa with my two little dogs. My family and I will probably celebrate Christmas in our wooden cabin in the mountains. If we can't do it, it will be Christmas at home. We live in southern Norway and hope for snow for Christmas. November has been unusually cold recently with -10 celcius in the morning and snow in the air. Thanks for doing Vlogmas again. It's nice to have little episodes throughout Advent. I love the holiday decor and little knitted ornaments! I just finished a pair of Wonderland Walk socks. I’m coming back to a pair of felted slippers. We have a new washing machine, fingers crossed it will work well for felting. We had 3 feet of snow in a week, and now it’s raining/freezing. We can nearly ice skate on the streets. Having a struggle this holiday season. Without going into detail my husband broke his shoulder and require surgery. Every year I have the kids and grandkids over on Xmas eve and my daughter just told me she will host it this year which takes a great load off me....she's so gracious....I love her dearly. I'm excited for vlogmas...kicking back at bedtime to watch and unwind. You are also so gracious in your sharing with this community😘😘

I am doing Christmas knitting for friends & family, preparing for a community Christmas concert, sharing my meditation talents with colleagues and getting some shopping done.
Denise you are so sweet! Christmas has always been hard for me but I try to always put up a tree with lots of colorful lights (new kitten this year should prove to be interesting) We moved to Arkansas from Oregon 2 1/2 years ago and still don’t know anyone here except our neighbor. I was diagnosed with cancer about a year after moving here and then my husband was bitten by a Brown Recluse and it got very infected, he ended up in the hospital for 5 weeks right after my radiation therapy, he almost died. Anyway having said all that I want to make this Holiday season a season of gratefulness, thankfulness etc that we both survived (I just had my year and a half after surgery PET scan and again it was clear)! Wow, so quick. My Doc is moving to northern New York. Very bitter sweet for me, but also I know she'll always have a friend and knitter here. So it's all Christmas/going away presents knotting here. Wool sock.l using shadow wrap heel. 2 pairs of fingerless gloves. Socks are done.
I'm excited for your Vlogmas Denise! I am doing pretty well. It will be a busy holiday season for us. We are Jewish but we also get involved in Christmas events so it winds up being double busy. I do enjoy time with my family and friends, concerts and live events and all the cozy times of winter. I'm knitting some socks right now, and learned from you!

Grateful for your vlogmas and your other regular videos that allow me to spend a short period of time with other fibre people from around the world. Here in Sydney, Australia we are waiting for the bushfire season to properly start. I’m a volunteer firefighter so will be busy fighting fires when that kicks off. Knitting helps keep me happy.
So great to see you again so soon! We are changing our family traditions as our children are adults now and we are all trying to live more minimalist. So focus will be on time spent together rather than the craziness of multi-gift purchasing for everyone. Of course, I've made socks for each of them and, although it is odd to not be stressed over wracking my brain for gift ideas, shopping, wrapping, etc., I am very much enjoying the slower pace and more intentional attention to the holidays as a time to enjoy each other and reconnect. The festive season is not always great for me as my family live far from home, but I do enjoy the run up to Christmas and all the feelings of goodwill and seasonal movies etc. I make my home “hygge” and buy myself treats, and I will be having Christmas dinner with friends, which leaves me plenty of knitting time and cosying up on the sofa with my two little dogs. People like yourself who do vlogmas videos, are a lifesaver for me really. They allow me to virtually visit your homes and surroundings, and get all the Christmassy feels. Thank you Denise. 🎄🤶🤎🐶🐶

My family and I will probably celebrate Christmas in our wooden cabin in the mountains. If we can't do it, it will be Christmas at home. We live in southern Norway and hope for snow for Christmas. November has been unusually cold recently with -10 celcius in the morning and snow in the air. Thanks for doing Vlogmas again. It's nice to have little episodes throughout Advent.

I love the holiday decor and little knitted ornaments! I just finished a pair of Wonderland Walk socks. I’m coming back to a pair of felted slippers. We have a new washing machine, fingers crossed it will work well for felting.
We had 3 feet of snow in a week, and now it’s raining/freezing. We can nearly ice skate on the streets.

Having a struggle this holiday season. Without going into detail my husband broke his shoulder and require surgery. Every year I have the kids and grandkids over on Xmas eve and my daughter just told me she will host it this year which takes a great load off me....she's so gracious....I love her dearly. I'm excited for vlogmas...kicking back at bedtime to watch and unwind. You are also so gracious in your sharing with this community😘😘

I’m looking forward to Vlogmas this year! It’s always enjoyable and inspiring to see how everyone navigates and celebrates the season. This year I feel a bit more on my game and decorated before Thanksgiving and opted to get one self striping yarn and try out the Legacy fiber arts weekly sock yarn advent. 💜. I’m hoping that I won’t put as much pressure on myself this way and just enjoy.

I’m possibly overstocked on December projects: a beautiful set of minis from Canon Hand Dyes for a shawl, a Fair Isle sweater project, a box of yarn that fortunately requires no effort on my part other than to open a new color each day, and of course a pair of socks. Oh, and the advent puzzle exchange!
