I mean honestly, who doesn't love AC/DC? Their music is delightfully unpretentious, sincere, and has such a groove that it inspires you to headbang on an instinctual level. I remember back in the 2000's when they were part of a SARS relief concert for Toronto that was headlined by the Rolling Stones. They weren't the headliners going into the concert, but it sure as hell felt like they were the headliners coming out of the concert. They absolutely had the best reaction out of the audience.

Though funnily enough when I got into the band in the late 70s, a lot of people I knew didn't like their music or any other bands considered 'heavy' or what they'd say to me was 'screaming' and 'that music that long haired people listen to'. It was a minority thing to listen to hard rock and heavy metal and there were clear boundaries between the music you liked and what others liked - in reality not true of course as I also liked other types of music. But since the 90s all the edges got blurred, thanks to all the metal crossovers into other genres like pop and rap/hip hop, everyone says they're an AC/DC fan these days. Good that they're so popular though, they deserve it.
I saw them on this tour, London 1980. 41 years ago this month. Superb of course!

Speaking on Australia’s The Project, the legendary guitarist reflected on the fact that, rather than pushing the boat out too far with new styles, they’ve instead honed their craft and worked on what makes them… well, AC/DC.
“With us, it’s to be expected,” Angus says (via Blabbermouth). “As my brother [late AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young] used to say, when somebody said, ‘Every album you’ve ever made sounds the same,’ he said, ‘Yeah. It’s the same band.’ When we started, we weren’t reinventing the wheel. This is what we do best - we make rock’n’roll.”
Here’s how Angus Young reacted to the criticism regarding the sound of AC/DC album:
“I’m sick to death of people saying we’ve made 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we’ve made 12 albums that sound exactly the same.”

If I think I'm dealing with an alien replicator or some sort of other shape-changer (you know what I mean), I will put this music on loud(if possible, if not I'll just hum a few bars). If they aren't instantly tapping their foot and nodding their head to the beat I know I got another one. God bless AC/DC.

Angus Young is and his brother Malcom Young was 5 feet 2 inches tall. When it came to a stage look - it was Angus's older Sister who suggested that he wear a public School Boy outfit for AC/DC and it stuck as a part of the act. If you enjoy AC/DC - they have about 16 albums of music from the early 70s on up. If you are interested in early AC/DC - "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and "It's a Long Way to the Top( If You Want to Rock N Roll )" , "Live Wire", "Whole Lotta Rosie" - and if you are into newer AC/DC - there is "Thunderstruck", "Ride On" , "For Those About to Rock ( We Salute You )" and brand new "Realize".

    • @Codefortyseven
      @Codefortyseven 2 года назад +2

AC/DC was my gateway to heavier music, as well. I definitely didn't listen to same music I do today. My schoolmate and his dad were huge fans of AC/DC, Metallica and Megadeth. He had pretty much all the AC/DC records and he let me borrow them. And I was hooked. Highway to Hell was the first album of the bunch, if I remember correctly, and there was no going back. Around this time I also discovered my dad's cassette collection of heavy metal and hard rock classics such as Twisted Sister, Accept, Dio, Iron Maiden. Then, another buddy of mine introduced me to Rainbow and Thin Lizzy, and this holy trinity of events pushed me to the musical journey through heavy music I'm still travelling on till this day.

Back in Black is the title song of AC/DC´s comeback album after the untimely death of singer Bon Scott. The album was a smash success and is still the best selling rock album of all times. Please check out the first song on the album, Hells Bells, preferably live version.

If I had to take one album with me to a desert island, it would be Back in Black. All time favorite band! Angus ROCKS! 💓
A friend bought me a biography of the band and the school boy uniform idea was his sister's. As he's shredding on the guitar, he shreds pieces of clothing as the concert progresses until he's down to his shorts. In the old days, it's rumored he mooned the crowd. 😂🌕

Grew up late 70's early 80's. When you heard this song you headed for it as that was where the party was. AC/DC, Meat loaf and Lynyrd Skynyrd were the staples. Always a party where they were playing.

So the original singer, Bon Scott, only did an album or two before he passed away, but before he passed he told his band mates, that if he ever died, to get Brian Johnson to take his place because he loved his voice! Then he died and the band got Brian Johnson then this was the first single from the album with Brian. Back in Black represents Bon Scott being reborn as Brian because he had a similar voice as Bon. Hence the lyrics "I got 9 lives..."

For sure. They are as down to earth in real life as anyone can be. The kind you just wanna hang around with having a beer. They haven't changed their style in 40 years. The 80's moved away from that style of rock and they were called old and stale. After the 90's music taste swung around again and they began to have a generational following. Angus is a legend. RIP Mal.

Brad or Lex, I see you like AC/DC and GUns N Roses, could you react to AC/DC featuring Axl Rose (Guns N Rose's singer). There are a ton of videos with him singing for the band on thier last tour, and it kicks ass. Thier singer Brian Johnson lost his hearing and they used Axl to finish the tour, Johnson has his hearing fixed and is back in the band, and Axl is still with Guns. Yet they kicked ass together, and it would cool a/f to see a reaction to it.

@@harlequindove2374 No, because a watermark will do nothing to disguise the audio. The audio they initially reacted to was the studio cut, and that is what RUclips's bots are programmed to block. Sometimes live performances also get blocked, though, in the case where the video is from the artist's official channel--but that's much more rare.

Wait, who doesn't like AC/DC? They're like, the basic, archetypal "rock band."
People are going to flame me for this, but their songs seem really simplistic/basic and I don't think either of their lead singers could really sing all that well... but none of that matters, 'cause the music just simply rocks, and rocks hard. It's like pure, unrefined Rock&Roll - crude, but powerful. (That's probably doing the band a massive disservice, but to a non-musician that's honestly how it comes off.) I'm pretty sure all of those "Stadium Rock" hair bands from the 80's all essentially wanted to be AC/DC.
