You make complete sense. That is what I see at most gyms now a days. Bunch of younger dudes lean but no muscle. Just taking time on equipment fucking around and just don’t fit with the way I’ve been training for the last 15-20 years. I don’t get it. I’m not even 40’but I feel like an old man based on how These damn kids act.
I'm passionate about training, but I often find it hard to deal with less social individuals in the gym. This phone debate has become a true classic between the older and newer generations. Phones have become virtual body parts to many, so how do you convince someone that he/she is addicted? (with less focus and a less social attitude as side effects)
Really sad state of affairs in gyms now... People will not put their weights back, will not work in, will not be courteous... NOTHING. And yes those damn tripods everywhere, and phone use DRIVES ME UP THE WALL...
These are not millenials, but generation Z, "Zoomers". There has been a huge influx of them into casual gyms as they have reached their 20s. Some of them are there because of TikTok influencers, others because they can't do high school sports any longer and have to find a different arena to socialize. You will know them by their broccoli haircuts, airpods and total lack of seriousness about anything they do in the gym. A combo of growing up on iPads and the recent lockdown has left them with a deficit in social skills. They act in real life as you would do in an internett comment secion.
I wouldn't want to work in with someone especially if they aren't working out at my pace. I would have told you no too and you grabbing the machine would have caused a fight. Could have led to your demise. Kudos to the guy who walked away from a nut. So I guess you showed that you do have gym etiquette? Really dude??
P.s. PLEASE do the extended verison of this... Dave could go all day.. put it on video haha. Have the exact dame issues at the gym.. annoyed me so much I terminated my membership
I don't like sharing equipment because I'll feel pressure to work at the other person's pace. If I wanna do some impromptu reps to failure or some drop sets at the back of my mind I'm eating into someone else's working set. That slight mental distraction is gonna affect my workout. Saying that, if someone asks I'll probs say yes unless I'm heavily fluctuating the weight like on the bigger compound lifts and then I'd have to think about it.

40 is old enough to have seen what it was like a generation ago, thats why it bothers you.
Thank you for this video. I am feeling something "pulse" between my legs
Thanks for making it creepy. #menaretheworst

Great points...and I don't know what the answer is. We are all addicted, myself included. Though I only use the phone for music at the gym.
Awesome!

Makes me crazy too!

LOL@ broccoli haircuts!
What Dave is talking about, is the participation trophy culture. Everyone just wants to be in the show.
Well said and very true.
Millenials are in their 30's+ now. Gen Z is the "new" generation now
That's a good point! LOL!
@@MikePulcinellaVideo I never understood that. Ismnt a millennial someone who was born on the millennium? Wouldn't they be 22 now!? lol!
When did we squeeze this other generation in there!? lol!
In the gym known as Gen laZiness
I'm a melinnial and almost ready for over 35 masters, so I felt compelled to comment lol

Well then thank god I didn’t pull this with the likes of YOU, huh? Lol!
2016 called. They want their internet tough guy comment back.
In case you have no self control, then stay away from public places and seek for help.
