His technique is simply amazing; it passes for art. It's a pleasure to hear someone sing this song in supported range because that's not an easy feat, other people I've heard sing this song tend to strain in the higher end. People that have been professionally trained in vocals really are on a different level.
When you’re an EXO-L but acknowledged this is better than Chen’s version. And being a Melody, I took no offense when he also won against my bias Eunkwang.
So I relistened to this and Chen's version again, back then at first listen I like this version more than Chen's. However, right now I could still say that this version is perfectly executed, leaning towards more on operatic take and I could tell that the singer is very experienced, meanwhile, Chen's version was more ballady and his version was "for me" had the right emotion. So both versions are amazing but I think right now I prefer Chen's version it had more impact to me now compared back then. I think the reason(s) why I chose Chen's version now goes beyond "my personal taste" and I think when you listen to alot of music it helps you to understand more about it.
I dont get why people have to praise him by comparing to Chen?? If you want to praise him, then just praise him. Dont drag chen here. No one is better than anyone. Just appreciate them as singers. Stop comparing just to please yourself. Both are great. Both have different tone and style. Please be respectful to each of them.
