I don't know but imo jiang cheng from anime was more honest, playful & boish but in drama he seems much more like he is always angry & irritated even in the beginning. In anime the changes in him was more visible than in drama.
Yes omg i liked him more in the anime bc he is more like in the books and actually likeable. He isn't always yelling and angry and so on. He actually has the soft side from his father and shows it more in the anime.
In the drama, Jiang Cheng was always yelling at Wei Ying for not coming back to Lotus Pier when he reincarnated. Of course Wei Ying, being the dense idiot he is, kinda just brushed it off but you can definitely tell that Jiang Cheng really missed his brother.
And then Lan Zhan comes swooping in and says "nope he's going to Gusu" and takes him away. Like think about it from Jiang Cheng's perspective. That's really heart breaking, losing your brother to a stone-faced piece of jade.
Not saying that I hate Wangxian (I actually ship them hardcore like everyone else) but just think about it in Jiang Cheng's perspective. He wanted to take his brother home but his brother already found a new home. He can't really do anything about it.
Sad isn't it.

Jiang Cheng was the one who commanded the group of taoists what killed Wei WuXian (even if he didn't really died by their hands, they still were on their way to kill him)
My favorite part about this is when Wei Wuxian runs out into the rain at 1:59 and follows up the part where Jiang Cheng pushes Wei Wuxian’s hand away and covers his eyes. Damn. The lyrics fits it so well!
It's really sad that the novel didn't give justice to their relationship, they are both willing to die for each other but in the end, it's like they didn't even know each other anymore.
I feel sad for JC, he basically used his whole life on WWX, but then he did something wrong and then his opportunities were gone because of LWJ that explains why he doesn’t like WJ

It suits LWJ and WWX. LWJ loved WWX through everything. Jiang Cheng was so obsessed with revenge and angry that he basically saw WWX as a tool against the Wen Sect, ignoring all that he'd been through. After he's completely indifferent to WWX's problems unlike LWJ. Then after what WWX he hates him, not understanding what he'd been through.
@@fowl37 cant fully agree. Yes this song suits to Wangxian too, but at the end when Jiang Cheng understood what WWX did to him. And after that they re roads came different. I dont think JC really hated him, but after everything that happened to them they cant be as close as 13 years ago. They just cant. And it kinda suits to the end of song.

Some started to notice similarities between the two pairs Madam Yu and JC then JFM and Xichen. The hot headed and calm lovers trope I guess, also it was kinda fun and cute to match the Lans with the Jiangs 😂😂😂

You know if lan zhan wasn’t a character at all then I probably would’ve shipped Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng together. (in a world where the Wangxian ship is nonexistent) Like if they identified their relationship as best friends and not brothers. Which would be best because even tho Wei Wuxian was adopted/raised into the family I would still feel as if its still kinda incest because they raised him to be Yanli and Jiang Cheng’s brother. BUT ANYWAYS, since wangxian is real. I would’ve at least liked it if the show, manga, or even the novel gave Jiang Cheng and Wei WuXian some closure because if he actually explained everything to Cheng then he would find out the truth about how Wei Wuxian wasn’t the cause of death for his sister and her husband. And it would also help Jin Ling find true answers about his parents. All I’m saying is that we needed more than, “take care” that was left unheard to Wei Wuxian. 🤔🥺

I very much doubt that. JC had a (at the time) fragile sect to take care of. He could not have fended off the other sects, if they banded together against him.
