Officially it is not allowed to carry gold, if it gets caught you have to pay around 40% custom duty. People do carry gold items like rings, chain, earnings. However it is upto you to take risk. Thanks.

You can get GST refund at Singapore Airport, make sure to inform shop owner that you want to collect GST refund at time of buying any product, and also make sure to carry passport with you as shop owner will scan passport. For custom, when you enter India, the custom department might check your baggage & if they found any Gold item, then they will ask too many question and might ask you to pay penalty. No, there is no need to pay any custom duty in Singapore.....infact you can get refund of GST amount that you have paid in Singapore while buying gold....Now for Indian Customs, tourist returning from any county be it Singapore, Dubai, etc are not allowed to carry any gold, if you are get caught, then you have to pay 39% as penalty, e.g. if you bought Gold worth rs of 1 lac from Singapore, then you have to pay 39,000 as custom duty....I have heard that lot of tourist buy gold from Singapore & Dubai, and do not declare anything at Indian Custom and also manage to escape from being caught....However I would leave this up to you decide.

Yes, you need to pay GST of 7%, but if you are tourist you can claim for GST refund.

Hi Nikki, the 24 karat gold price is SGD 840 / INR 4950 for 10 gram, but please note majority of designs are only in 22 karat.

Small Diamonds in rings, necklaces should be fine. But I don't think you can export big diamonds in large quantity, for this you need proper licence.
