Based off this performance alone, James McVoy is one of the most talented actors I've ever seen. The range he has is unmatched by anyone else.
I agree completely. He blew my mind and completely scared the hell out of me.
One of my favorite things about this movie is its illustration of how childhood trauma, specifically sexual trauma, can affect our response to future threats and traumas. Casey freezes in the car in the opening scene, almost like a prey animal would when faced with a predator it can't outrun, in the brain's attempt to make sense and survive another seemingly unsurvivable situation. To you, Major (and most people), it seems obvious to either fight back or gtfo lol But unfortunately, I understand her character more than I'd like to.
I'm sorry Meghan hope this didn't bring up any bad memories. But thank you for the insight bc I was thinking let's get out of here or fight back

and play continue with this series along with "unbreakable" and "glass"..
if you decide to go old school: look up alex cross a detective of the crimial mind and dr of psychology.. it was done by morgan freeman(which he also did a movie with james years later called "wanted" see how we the fans piece actors and timelines together) anyways.. wanted was my first movie before xmen came along with james playing professor x years years later about 13 years to be precise lol..
What makes McAvoys performance even crazier is that he accepted this role last minute because the actor that was chosen had to drop out. The fact that he brought so much to the role with such a limited amount of time to prepare is truly talented.
Honestly James should have won an Oscar for this performance! Please watch the conclusion called Glass.
Bummer that you went into this knowing it was connected to Unbreakable. It was a huge surprise in theaters. Glass is a pretty solid finale to this story.
The Bruce Willis movie you were thinking of is Unbreakable. Pretty sure the final movie to this trilogy is Glass which is also another great movie🙂

@@boxmulla yeah, i agree. it has a degree of dislike that i don’t understand. i thought it was masterful. the command of ritual and superstition is very powerful.
James McAvoy is one of my favorite actors. I’ll watch anything with him in it.

JAMES MCAVOY has been in a lot of movies. My favorite is called Wanted with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. I first watched him in the first 2 seasons of the UK Shameless. I think the reason that I followed James so closely is because he is from Scotland like my husband. Great reaction.
I first remember him in a min series - the Children of Dune. Worth a reaction, Major.

M. Night Shyamalan has made some really good movies and some real dogs. There's not much in between with him. And James McAvoy is fantastic. Since you liked Dune you might be interested in the Sci-fi channel's Children of Dune in which he plays Leto II. Also Frailty (2001) with Bill Paxton and Matthew McConaughey and Lucy (2014) with Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman are great movies that I'd love to see you react to. 🎉 Happy New Year!! 🎉

Like most ( if not all ) M night, Shaman movies are filmed in Philly just like with 6th sense I loved this movie when it came out cus I seen locations I’ve been at my whole life like the Philadelphia zoo as soon as I seen them gates when you said looks like Grand Central Stationi had to stop and let you know the BTS 😁 love your reactions bro 👏🏼👏🏼

It should be noted that Disassociative identity disorder (formerly multiple personality disorder) is incredible rare and doesnt work like it does in this movie. Ppl get it because they were subjected to awful trauma (usually abuse) before the age of around 8 which is when your personality cements. The child will form different personalities that will surface and take the abuse for them so to speak and the personality will stay fragmented into adulthood. Its possible for the personalities to integrate in adulthood but no one with the disorder has ever hurt anyone, it's soley to protect themselves
Ok, I watched this movie so many times and every time I get more and more clues about whats going on in Kevin's life,and listening to the doctor helps understand people with multiple personalities. Dennis kidnapped Clair and Marsha because what they did to him that day the school came and visited the zoo. Clair and Marsha was the two girls that put Dennis/Hedwig and under their shirt to make him feel their breast. So he was up set about that and as fast as KC go, she wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. KC knew how to survive doing that ordeal, since the things she went through growing up around her uncle. Its all about survival and the last one alive was KC plus Clair and Marsha been shelter so much, they didn't know how to do anything. They were blind to life as you saw in the beginning of the movie.
I don't know how they get these people like James McCoy and Ana Joy Taylor but its a piece of work. Just like the movie Glass and The Menu all show that the less fortunate/ broken is the ones who know more and appreciated life more

i agree with this.. but not everyone who went this traumatic experienced have unlocked "some form" of survival instincts: my understand is you either can surivive or cant(theres no in between with these real life based scenarios) kc however is the exception to the rule,as you stated the other girls were clearly sheltered not that its a bad thing..however experience does help(alot)
moreso if you are a natural intuitive person or have "introspective" like me and a few others: facing things like the beast is second nature to us. kc wasnt trying to kill the beast, if she legit was she wouldve been leading the target shooting front of him,instead of at him.. anyone who has basic training or proper handling with any gun knows this(personally id aim for his legs or head(you cant walk or run with a shot off foot or piecing holes in your thighs)im just stating some facts

Hi Major! Great reaction as always. If you like James McAvoy, please watch ‘Wanted’, one of his early works (2008). It’s an action thriller, with a great cast (Morgan Freeman, Terrence Stamp, Angelina Jolie, Chris Pratt). There is a lot of humor. Not the most clever film ever but it’s top entertainment.

"the light" is the sitting chair,and supposedly everyone gets a chance to represent different aspects of kevins life. as stated by this identity here: it was created cause kevin"s mother used to beat him for having crumbs or unclean clothing(thats how this identity was born) there are 23 personalities known by the dr. the 24th is known as "the beast" and it was created bt kevin when he experience the most horrific thing in his life. the beast has all the powers of "a strong-man" if anyone has seen a real life circus with performers from different parts of the world, a strong man is exactly what he or she intels. strong-men and women can do many many "supernatural feats" from climbing straight walls,do parkour, can walk a tightrope while carrying "anvils"or giant machine balls made or iron or steel. they crush bricks,pull eightteen wheelers, lift cars or trucks,pull ships and boats from shorelines..
batman for an example is considered a "ninja" but in many many comics over the 50 year decades hes seen deadlifting 1000lbs,squatting 800 pounds,and benching 1500lbs(batman is the peek of human and superhuman conditioning. apart from black panther and spiderman and captain america.. theres no one like batman(unless you count slade from "league of shadows" aka a boss from ra's a gul the demon head who lived over 5 thousand years) again btman has no equal.. being 6'6-'6'10 in many illustrations

Actually, these two movies (Unbreakable and Split) I liked more than the third one Glass. The last one was some kind of... not so good... I don't know what exactly but I didn't like it as much as these two. But I want you to react the third movie too... maybe you will like it.

the reason i noticed people like this is cause my dog reacted differently towards a friend ive known for over 10 years.. her eyes changed and her "pheromones scent glands" also changed. yes dogs can smell the chemical imbalances in our brains and smells too.. remember dogs do have over 100,000 nose receptors in this noses.. and they can smell cancer cells too.. *majorreacts*

Honestly you only really need to watch Signs, The Village is okay, might as well watch Glass and finish the trilogy, but it is the weakest of the three.
This might be an unpopular opinion but Lady in the Water is good.
You can avoid his other movies like the plague.... He doesn't always put out bangers. The Happening, Old, After Earth, are Trash.
Knock at the Cabin was an interesting premise, but the execution was meh...Bautista is good in it though. All my opinions though, what do i know.
The Visit is also fun and interesting
