What is Ja'Marr Chase looking for in Bengals contract extension? | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC / nflonnbc
He won't take a dime less than Justin Jefferson
Oh he getting $40 mil easy..
I'm loving this. The more they pay him, the less games the Bengals win
Fewer
Mike Brown CAN NOT AFFORD to put guaranteed money in escrow for Chase, Hendrickson, and Higgins! They almost had to take out a bank loan to do Burrow’s deal. You shouldn’t own an NFL team if you can’t afford to pay your players…
Exactly. His entire wealth is tied into the Bengals and always have been. He never diversified his earnings like Mark Davis has done after the team relocated to Vegas.
And the Bengals [Mike Brown] were the lone dissenting vote allowing corporations to own up to 10% of a team. The league knows they're running out of billionaires that can own NFL teams outright.
1:50 Florio is out of his mind. Chase will definitely be the highest paid WR but not for $50 million 😂
he’s objectively worth it… and he wouldnt be too crazy to ask
@@justicestylesHe would be because nobody is doing that
Florio literally said that’s what Chase wants and doesn’t think he’ll get it. Florio isn’t out of his mind lmao.
@@ced9938 lol then trade me … FOH … if JJ worth 35 … and ive led my team to 2 AFC Championships and a SB
Chase he’s the best receiver in the league. He deserves 50 million would allow you all the quarterbacks to get over 50 million there’s a lot of bad quarterbacks out there too. They’re getting 50 million.
As a bengals fan I’d rather be in a position of having too many good players to pay rather than none, but with that being said I have a feeling this is going to get ugly
He may be gone and Tee Higgins is definitely gone.
It’s a market, someone’s gonna pay
If The Players Care As Much As Fans Do. They Wouldn’t Try & Break Bank Every Time They Have Opportunity
What top elite players held out of practices after their 3rd year? Not JJettas or CeeDee or Aiyuk or Micah or Nick Bosa... so who was as sensitive as Ja'Marr about contract negotiations after only their 3rd year
Why didn't people say that Justin Jefferson should ask for $50M last year after he turned down the Vikings after his 3rd year and after being Offensive Player of the Year
Ja'Marr sat out of practices because he wanted $40M last year and said that he didn't want to negotiate until after JJettas and CeeDee were signed and CeeDee was days before the first game... so Ja'Marr saying he didn't practice bc of the Bengals doesn't add up
@zacharyharkness8780 , why not. Why is it only athletes that are held to this standard of taking less money. Why is this never asked of billionaires, actors, record label executives, etc.
I know Burrow is a great QB and they have amazing chemistry, but I'd want out if I were Chase. I don't care what the offer is, that owner is horrible. One of the worst in the league. It's why the Bengals even have Burrow and Chase on the roster in the first place. Get out while you can.
As a bengals fan. Trade chase get a couple picks. Pay tee and hendrickson. Pick up some def assets. Offense will be okay. The owner can’t afford this and frankly I don’t blame him.
Finally a sensible comment. Paying a wide receiver quarterback money is stupid. Bengals have Joe Burrow. Spread the money around protecting him and use the draft comp to get adequate WRs.
Ty for giving the people what they want. Simms, Charean and Devin are the perfect cohosts.
Stop speaking in Chase saying he don’t care about tee….
Right
Why ? You know he does????
Florio. Would just like to see him shut up about the Bengals
Tee gunna look real good in Bills blue white and red
Since the Bengals' ownership have no genuine interest in winning the Super Bowl, Chase should try to get traded to a contender. Why waste an illustrious career in Cincy when they don't care?
Jamar: “Y’all ever seen the movie Blank Check?” 😂
Well, the Bengals are learning the hard way FAFO. I suspect that they'll franchise him for the next 2 years, hope that his production comes down, and try to sign him then or just let him walk.
I'd rather see Tyreek back in KC - (at a hometown discount). Maybe Justin Jefferson. Chase is a diva on the scale of Antonio Brown.
Yo any team would be out of their mind to pay a receiver that much. Chiefs are about to win their 3rd straight superbowl AFTER letting their star receiver walk away because he wanted more money. Chiefs haven’t had a stud number 1 since Tyreek left yet look at what they’ve done. You need good scheme, ability to draft and develop players well and good coaching and obviously great QB play which the Bengals have. Thats what wins in this current day.
Exactly, The Cowboys break the bank on five players and then have no money left to make a good team. That's why they don't win anymore.
Teams with rookie QB contracts can afford his demands and then he helps develop their rookie in return.
Name another team besides pat mahomes???? You’re an idiot for thinking everyone can be them
RUN Burrow RUN.
Jettas and chase are both S rank
50???? Youre an idiot bro. 40 would be the absolute cap if he really forced his way. 4 years at 150 is the deal
I bet a bunch of teams would be willing to pay Chase 40+.
Look at a team like Washington. Big market, McLaurin at the end of his prime and a cheap qb for the next 4 years. They could pay Chase buckets and still have cap space for other needs. Same for the Broncos, the Patriots and even the Chargers could use the be help.
Chase and Higgins have the same agent...
They're The Bangles, make it to the playoffs. No, did he achieve 3000 rushing yards? No, did he get 50 touchdowns? No and he gets seventy five cents fU pay me tax, which tells me you wanna be on a different team, because if you say F. U, then there's the door in my eyes
If I was the Bengals, I would bet on this dude that he will stay healthy and be a great player for many years. Do 5 years, 225 million dollars, 45 million per year with a lot of incentives.
Is it a QB?
I love Burrow but I wouldn't wanna play for an organization that's always trying to exploit it's players. Ja'Marr should look elsewhere, and so should Higgins. The team don't deserve them, including Burrow.
What top elite players held out of practices after their 3rd year? Not JJettas or CeeDee or Aiyuk or Micah or Nick Bosa... so who was as sensitive as Ja'Marr about contract negotiations after only their 3rd year
Why didn't people say that Justin Jefferson should ask for $50M last year after he turned down the Vikings after his 3rd year
Ja'Marr sat out of practices because he wanted $40M last year and said that he didn't want to negotiate until after JJettas and CeeDee were signed and CeeDee was days before the first game in September... so Ja'Marr saying he didn't practice bc of the Bengals doesn't add up at all
Need to let Higgins go and sign Chase. Need so much help on the defense. Burrow and Allen are in a tough situation with the Chiefs that seem to get by with Patrick making less money like Brady did.
Let them both go and use that money to make a good team. You simply can't pay skill players, other than the QB, that kind of money and expect to win.
Higgins is as good as gone.
When is Chris Simms gonna start making takes on the 2025 class?
That's ridiculous to think that a WR makes as much as a QB! The Bengals had better be looking for new ownership partners or they'll be salaried out of Football! Send Tee Higgins to Tampa!
He bet on himself and won! I don’t like the guy as a person but he deserves everything now. That’s business!
The 50M is like the Deshaun Watson fully guaranteed deal: it will take a VERY stupid front office to make such a thing, and even the incompetent Bengals one is not that stupid.
If he asks for that you leave your offer on the table (not an insulting one, one that is at least better than Justin Jefferson's), remind him that he has a year left on his contract and that you have not 1 but 2 franchise tags that can apply to him in the following 2 season after that, and both would be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than 50M/y, and walk away. He is free to hold out training camp, even a whole season, but the chances of him getting that anywhere else are so remote that might as well be zero anyway.
Trade Higgins for defensive pieces.
The world and everything in it
Floria just be spewing BS does any of his takes come to life? Even close because he say outlandish ish
As a Rams fan trade him to LA. History says we’ll gladly pay as many picks as it takes.
35 should be fine always having break the bank is ridiculous he has teammates that need to get paid too
I GOT IT, FLORIO IS WORKING FOR CHASE'S AGENT
Florio has been trying to blow up various teams cap for the last 10 years.
50M is absolutely asinine and idiotic to even suggest. Is this a joke??
He’s not worth 50 million dollars. Thats insane
Paying that would be stupid. Paying WRs anything over 25 is pointless. Kills your team.
I feel like there is value in the 30M range IF they are a real bonafide and undeniable no.1 WR as guys like Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, etc. But there are maybe just 3 to 5 players in that tier every year, and just 2 or 3 are able to maintain themselves in the category for a significant time.
Of course, once you start paying close to 30M to, I don't know, Brandon Aiyuk, with all due respect, you're just throwing money in the garbage.
Unless it’s a WR like JJetta or Chase
I think the Bengals sign all three Trey Tee and Jamarr.
Im tired of the Bengals and Reds being the local farm team that ships off grown talent to other teams!
The Bengals are much worse off without tee higgins than with him!
If he goes one of the first 3 picks of the draft will have to go to WR.
But earlier in the show when you were talking about Matthew Stafford, you said you liked players that didn't cause problems. Which is it 🤔
I'll make it nice and simple for Mr. Chase. Come to Green Bay and we'll give you 350 million for 10 years with 300 guaranteed.
Trade him for a monster haul.
There once was a receiver named Chase,
The almighty dollar he would soon chase.
His fans he shall face,
Such a disgrace.
Making money is not some lame race.
Florio is a trouble maker and always trying to mess up teams and their fans.
Florio knows nothing about this topic🤦🏾♂️
But you do? Too many little boys in the comment section.
@ anybody who knows anything about the bengals knows jamarr is definitely not asking for 50 mil and he definitely cares a lot about keeping Tee in Cincinnati. I wouldn’t expect a casual like urself to understand that because u listen to people on TV who knows very little about non big market teams such as Cincinnati
Bite the hand that feeds you much?..
Try that at any other job and see where it gets you
Wont get much more than 37 a year
Florio is such a moron. Jefferson waited 4 years as well.
You don’t win super bowls with guys like this. The chiefs got rid of Tyreek and they might win 3 in a row. The numbers are great but he doesn’t make the team better. He had his career year and they didn’t even make the playoffs.
defense and missing on draft picks is why they didn't make the playoffs. its not chase's fault, he played on rookie pay this year.
@@theedee876 You just proved my point. If your going to pay a player $50 million he should be able to mask deficiencies in your team. You are a better team spending that $50 million on 3 players.
@@cptjockitch nah youre just a troll.
How about those CHEIFS?
I just wish for one year. Just one year, Mahomes could have a receiver as good as Chase and Jefferson. Even Tyreek wasn't close to these guys. Must be nice to have such incredible weapons for your QB.
Tyreke in his prime absolutely was just as good as those guys...
Yeah poor Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. That’s what’s everyone is thinking right now.
Tyreek not close? Id get it if u said tee higgins or someone..... tyreek has averaged 1700 yds many times with mediocre QBs
Lmao…Tyreek was all world! And he had him with the best receiving Tight end, prolly of all time. Crazy comment.
Best 3 WR in the game. Chase, Jefferson, AJ Brown
Aj brown😂
Snuck one in there huh
@@thomascharles7961 who’s the number 3 then?
@@nsd_respect St Brown
Mike Evans?
This signing s contract for 4 years and trying to renegotiate in year 3 is ridiculous. You sign for 4 years... you play that contract out. THEN do negotiations. It is a horrible precedence.....
Do you feel that way if a team cuts the player before a contract ends?
Los wr no valen ninguno más de 30 millones son solo divas
What top elite players held out of practices after their 3rd year? Not JJettas or CeeDee or Aiyuk or Micah or Nick Bosa... so who was as sensitive as Ja'Marr about contract negotiations after only their 3rd year

wrong! and you're most likely a cheifs or steelers fan.
Trade them both for four 1st rounders and 2 2nd rounders to the Panthers and for Bryce Young.
Bro what 😂
You crazy son😂
