  • Finally back up in the In-House section of Moreland or Merri-bek (whatever you want to call this bloody council) Back on Wednesday I headed up to Tuesday area, of Pascoe Vale South, Collections were one day behind due to the Public Holiday on Monday, I mainly came up for glass recycling which I did end up eventually finding, but did also get a few crappy clips of other trucks.
In this small comp we see:
#2400 (17) on FOGO, Was a real surprise seeing this truck, saw the back of it from a distance and then heard it roaring around the corner and saw it was this truck, I thought this truck was scrapped, but clearly not, I believe it is the last Mini in the In-house fleet, only got 2 crappy clips as the driver was looping over streets that another truck had already done. The glass truck was in the next street in the first clip, hence the smashing. However I wish I got more of this truck.
#2861 (1) on FOGO, was doing the same area as #2400. This driver didn’t really want to be filmed, so got one clip from the opposite side and left him alone. Not too sure what the go is with the signage half removed either they were trying to sell it and pulled it out of action or did a doggy job of removing the Moreland writing.
#2783 (11) on Glass Recycling, this truck was originally a recycling truck, and you may notice the yellow part of the signage on the tailgate, but after the glass recycling service commenced in july 2023, it was done up with purple signage, and collects the purple lids in the north part of the council. This driver was really fast (although he does drive like a bit of an idiot) and one of the fastest I’ve filmed, definitely one hard chase, and that why I only got 2 clips.
While it wasn’t one of my best days, I’m happy with what I got. I’ll go back up this week for recycle and garbage and I might go up next glass week as well.
Hope everyone has enjoyed these 3 back to back glass recycling videos, next upload will be a year in review vlog..

Apologies about the error in the video, the truck at 1:25 is #2861 NOT #2851.

Sorry I never got around to commenting on this vid cause I bloody love it.
The 4x2 raptor sure is a treat, last of its kind. I see this truck as the 71061 of Moreland in house, this ones definitely in better condition but 61 will always have that little extra power from its engine rebuild 😂
Love the old rattly Series 3 arm, surprised this is the one they chose to keep and to put it on fogo.
The GenV is awesome, love a classic 22m, kinda wish we had a flat faced dual axle, that one looks pretty healthy as well.
Didnt know moreland hired a bloke from Aussie Waste haha, bloody flying through the streets. I could definitely picture this bloke in one of the old Aussie Waste MKiVs. As for the truck itself seems to go quite nicely, the Volvos always have as far as new trucks go. These are basically the same as the new Hobart trucks just on a dual axle with a 20m body instead of an 18 on single. Definitely want to get a hobart volvo on film and compare it to these moreland in houses, even the signage theme is pretty similar.
Dedicated glass is still an awesome addition, get a full bin and it rattles the whole block haha, i reckon if we had it, it would be fun, plenty of wine drinkers down here 😂
    Cheers mate

      Thanks Mate,
The mini raptor was a real surprise, I had no idea they still had it (and a mini genV) I was pretty bumed the driver wasn’t too big a fan on filming, and he was only doing the tight streets so hard to keep up,
Toby, the legend on glass is a fast one, he's previously been at FSW Maribyrnong, on a Dennis spak, but he's way faster now, a bit too fast I'd say, he sped off down some main rd and I never found him again, Hes now driving street sweepers, and no one is full time glass lol. Glass is always my fav, easy to tell who the drinkers are haha, Gonna try get it this week, but the guy doing it now is a real arsehole, not a fan of filming or even following/watching him.
      Thanks for the comment.

@@Merri-bekGarbo he is bloody fast, makes for some good footage haha, our drivers from the previous contract were like that but they'd put the bins back anyway but how people had them out. Must be an adjustment going from a fast sideloader to sweeping streets at 5 ks an hour, must feel like a hell of a drag, I'd personally hate to be a street sweeper operator, people think driving garbage trucks would be boring, can't imagine driving a sweeper.
Haha, I don't think we really have drivers on full time anything besides a few, just put where needed that day.
That's a shame, I swear the drivers of the best trucks don't like filming, I get 67 one of the single axle Accos every week for garbage which I'd love to film but the driver doesn't like to be filmed too much.
      Cheers mate!

Hi Dave 👋 I really enjoyed this compilation which is edited perfectly. I liked all 3 trucks but I especially liked #2783 (11). I think this driver should be known as "The Skid Master" he toots twice, screams off and skids to a sudden stop. I notice that you have the truck as #2873 in the title and description but the truck displays #2783.
I enjoyed reading your informative description and I appreciate the time and effort that you take in doing so. I also like the different camera angles used as it adds interest to the video.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Dave, I hope 2024 is a great year for both of your channels and I look forward to your videos in 2024.

Hi John, glad you enjoyed, I quite like #2783 the purple signage really pops and looks great, some may not like how he operates and drives, but at the end of the day, as long as the bins are empty it’s all that really matters. Thanks for pointing out that error. I have since corrected it. Happy new year John, I look forward to what. 2024 will bring! Thanks for commenting and glad you enjoyed.

@Merri-bekGarbo No worries Dave 👍 I think the different drivers and how they operate can really be fun to watch whether they are good or bad. I agree about the purple signage. Have a great day Dave 😀

Thanks bud, glad you enjoyed! I was very surprised to see 17 out. I’ve been told it’s mostly a spare so I was lucky to see it out, was annoying that the other truck was doing the same area and I eventually lost 17. I know an area were 17 will definitely be out. Will go there in a few weeks.
