@BfSkinnerPunk its miniDV, 3ccd, and is a prosumer camera. Alot if old cameras like the sony vx1000, trv900/950, and gl1 are used in the skateboard film area and they still produce AMAZING quality.

I have the DCR-TRV950; Sony Digital Video Camera Recorder. When I turn it on it doesn't look the greatest, it looks some what fuzzie. How can I improve the video quality.
I have this cam recently as I was capturing from the cam into my edit bay the can is no l onger showing video on fold out window or in soft ware window and the can is no longer reading time code. what is the problem? can any one help?
Hi, Is this the Sony DCR-TRV950E? Or is there a difference because on the internet they sometimes qoute TRV950E and the other time TRV950. I am going to buy this camera but i want to know if there is a difference in the product / quality. Greets =)
@BfSkinnerPunk 3ccD duh? its not all about high def all the time person, mini DV and etc. They take advantege when making skate videos or etc :)., Think of it man these jewels are still selling up to 700$ now on ebay
Is there a reason why someone would want to own this camera today? It's not hi-definition.... was made in 2002 I think. What is the advantage of a camera like this? (I see that, even today, it commands a pretty high price for old technology.

I don't know why you're hooking up a 15 year old camera, but you'll need a 4 pin firewire to whatever pin your computer supports.
On this camcorder can you remove the lens and replace it with another one?

Sony DCR-TRV950 is NTSC and Sony DCR-TRV950E is PAL/Secam
