Are Bananas Good For Performance?

  • Day 10/30 on the Bananas-Only Diet (at least 30 bananas a day for at least 30 days. Nothing else.). As with the last time I took up this 30 day diet, I received a jump in athletic performance.
    Also, yay to 8 months of fruitarianism!
    Sorry for posting this a little bit late! I kind of was napping when I planned to film/upload this. It's not every day I run a 5K route and then do 11.4 miles more on a whim! ;-)

    great video. did you eat any greens when you were doing your bananas only experiment, and do you feel greens are important? I really want to try a bananas only experiment because I too feel that whenever I eat a lot of bananas I feel a big jump in athletic performance directly after--even if I just eat like 8 bananas for breakfast and then work out. It is really exciting to think what I could do on like 30 bananas a day or whatever.

      No I hadn't eaten greens either time I've done this. I don't view greens as important as fruit, though when not eating only-bananas I will eat leafy greens like spinach at night. But I don't ever beat myself up over not getting greens!

      Tanner Bananner I read your blog and you inspired me to do it today. it's 7:30 here and I've only eaten 16 bananas so far….but I think I can eat 10 more at least. I will let you know how it goes!! (i had already had just bananas luckily but I usually eat like a high carb low fat vegan dinner--i want to go fully raw again but am not sure if I can do it)

      Tanner Bananner I did it yesterday--only made it to 20. But I felt so good I decided to do it again today. I could feel when I woke up that I had so much more energy from the start and I lost water weight and my skin looks great--all just in one day. This is why I want to go fully raw again. Do you think a week is the minimum you should do banana island for? I was thinking like 3 days--not sure if I will make it the whole week. Thanks for the encouragement yesterday!!

      MyNonLeatherLife :-) I would say that two weeks is the minimum I'd recommend - for me I've noticed that's when the improvements start becoming really noticeable. But any amount of time is good - 3 days certainly isn't bad!
