The AC-130H and J's are one heck of a weapons platform. I live 12miles from that Special Opps base too 😁👍👍👍. Thank You to all our Military personnel for serving it is Appreciated people you Men and Women protecting my Right to do and work and live where I want without you people I wouldn't have that So again Thank You for your Service 👍👍👍👍✌️👋
It's kind of sad to see these ships get hammered like this. They were a living space and workplace for so many crews. And at the same time, what an ultimate and glorious way to serve the fleet one last time .
I served on the USS Denver (LPD-9) of the same class. The ship was old, Vietnam era, and the captain joked on the morning intercom report that the pipes long rusted away and were only held together by the tape that was used to fix the leaks (Wonder if he wasn't joking?). It was sunk during SINKEX. You get nostalgic a bit, and kinda sad seeing your ship, or its class, being used as target practice.
My first ship, and I believe may favorite plant to steam. Semi-auto / stick shift propulsion. Lots of knowledge gained there from '87-'89. Great group of Hole-Snipes! RIP DBQ
Those had to be training rounds. There is no way no damage was done to the deck using the 105. I have seen up close and personal the catastrophic devastation this plane actually causes. I am thinking this was a targeting test for the gunners and crew.
2015-1117, New C130J Scrapped After Flying Upside Down. The US AF had to scrap a brand-new Lockheed Martin AC-130J Ghostrider gunships. Hercules received damage estimated at $115,000,000 after a flight-test crew lost control. While being operated at roughly 15,000-ft, the aircraft flew upside down, before being recovered after losing approximately 5,000-ft of altitude. The crew escaped injury and returned to base and landed safely, but the Ghostrider was rendered a total loss, having exceeded its operating g limits and design load. Investigators have attributed the incident to the pilot’s “excessive rudder input during a test flight, followed by inadequate rudder input to initiate a timely recovery from high angle of sideslip due to over-controlled/under-controlled aircraft,” along with the “wrong choice of action during an operation.”
I dont agree with the method of sinking the ships. They gave us valued service and if need to be sunk then give them some dignity not just shooting the crap out of them
Falklands War and no such attack took place because there were no AC-130s present. The foolish Argentines tried to use a C-130 as a bomber with no success.
@@socaljarhead7670 It is true that it was a C-130 and not an Ac-130 but basically it is the same plane. In everything else you are wrong, that C-130 actually hit a target, a ship, it was the VLCC "Hercules", a logistics ship, which is a greater feat than using an AC-130. And your second mistake is that they are called Malvinas because they are within the Argentine continental shelf, not near the pirate island. LAS MALVINAS SON ARGENTINAS!
I was on Dubuque in the late 70's and it is sad to see her go down but still serving the good of the Navy

The 30mm rounds looked to be remarkably ineffective against that flight deck.
Most likely training rounds as the explosive armor piercing rounds are quite expensive
It's amazing how much punishment these ships can absorb.
they weld them closed so they wont sink
Agree w/ charlesdriggers199 & FracitionalMateao. The ship's name is phonically pronounced (Tar-Ah-Wahh), not Tur Wa Wa. And everyone is so high on AI.
Get rid of the AI voice.
Agreed. The monotone, mechanical, voice that can’t properly pronounce English words is annoying.
A10 Warthog : I'm a flying gun !!
C-130 J : That's cute ...

I was on board the Dubuque in Pusan Harbor in 1995 when were in a collision with the USS Fort McHenry. Floated back to Okinawa on board her.

There is something very sad about watching a ship being scuttled or scrapped or blown-up...
My first ship, and I believe may favorite plant to steam. Semi-auto / stick shift propulsion. Lots of knowledge gained there from '87-'89. Great group of Hole-Snipes! RIP DBQ
the ship holds up quite well🤛
Brand new condo development for the fishes...😊
SWEET!!!! My Ole ship..

Your computer voice has a speech impediment. Your channel has one less viewer.
That thing is the full back of the military might
So scrap prices are that low that you can afford to just sink ships ?
If you're using 'ai' for the voice-over please reconsider.
I expected more bang for our buck! Are the rounds in the first part even going through the deck of the ship??
The AI voice sucks. Stop being lazy.
Why the hell would they delete the 105 from the AC?
We need this in Modern Warships and Modern Warfront
Yeah... Tar-Ah-Wa like the island
All these things never affect the environment or "climate change"
Don't take out the 105.
Tear-A-Wa
The mispronunciations of your computer generated voice-over is quite annoying
Plz, a platform that doesn't engage hostiles, is useless for evaluation of anything.

Seems like a liability
USN '74 - '79 DD-876. Hey Defence News , drop the AI commenting.
Such an ignoble end for a loyal ship. 😢
It should at least be yard art somewhere.
Gee, no rivereen warfare boats or a Humvee on a pontoon boat?
I HATE A.I. narrator! I will always give thumbs down !
Where is the split munition? 3-4 into one (4-5 tot). Split at 50?. Damage gap widens to???, all in 1k-2klb (B/M?).
Get rid of the computer generated narrative. It can’t determine the correct pronunciation of certain words/names! 🤯🤯
The AI is awful. Can't the owner of this channel narrate this vid himself?
Ufffffffff😒😒😒😒😒 A 400 M 👍
Would even ten Ghostriders have enough firepower to sink that ship? The 30mm autocannon didnt even even seem to leave scratches on the flight deck.
I think they are showing chinas fishing fleet that would be used in a conflict what is waiting for them
It’s a Close Air Support aircraft and spec ops!
Warships are designed to take a beating and in real situation the AC 130 J will not be use to sink a ship
Those planes arent meant for anti ship
How to click bait!!
More AI voice garbage. Thumb’s down. The pronunciation of Tarawa was laughable at best.
Throwing your rubbish into the ocean right?
I dont agree with the method of sinking the ships. They gave us valued service and if need to be sunk then give them some dignity not just shooting the crap out of them
The first time that an AC130 attack a ship it was on 1982 in Malvinas war.

With all the war video’s you have to show this crap.
100% waist of time.
Waste of money all the way around, this could have been for the homeless to live on.
Boy, that’s the dumbest thing I have heard today
AI sucks, be a big boy and narrate it yourself.
The 30mm is ineffective against the heavy armor on the deck.
Reuse the steel! Polluting the ocean wtf over
Waste of money and ammo 😢
