Not only looking sweet...sounding sweet too brother! Excellent work on this one. Glad you went with those knobs, they make the custom pickguard pop more. BRAVO 👏 🤘🎶🙏🎶🤘
Appreciate it! The customizing on the pickguard took some doins but I am real pleased with the final product. Big step up from the rat gnawed awfulness that I bought 😄
This guitar is awesome. Love how the colors pop. Between the body and the pickguard also was there in the live show that strap you added looks like it was made just for it (very nice)
Thanks! As you can probably tell from my hanging guitars, I love to match straps to guitars, becomes a sort of art of its own. Finding just the right colors can really make a guitar shine. Thanks for noticing and commenting 😁
Nice work and I love the insight into modding off brand Strats. I'm in the midst of modding a Spectrum SSS strat. I already added a Guyker trem and locking tuners. Thankfully I'm only replacing the electronics and not the pickguard so there shouldn't be any drilling involved. I'll have to find a way to send you before/after pics.
@TheRevDr Will do. Waiting on CTS pots and cream colored knobs and switch tips. I bought a set of cream colored vintage sound pickups from Guitar Fetish as well.
Its looking incredible! One of my favorite colors..... you already know in our exchanges, that I'm a huge Samick fan. Hardware, pickguard, and everything looks awesome. That is an awesome book, Dan Earlewine invented and marketed "the Chiquita travel guitar" in the mid to late '70's. Those CNC Destiny IYV humbuckers would look and sound great in the Samick in a HSH configuration with the humbuckers wired out of phase. P. S. Did you go 3/4 Keef there for a minute??? Lol.
@Earthshaker1965 excellent feedback and comments 🤜🤛 It's the best guitar tech book probably ever written. The third edition has decades of his insights woven into it. Out of phase wiring is an aspiration haven't done one yet of my own.
🫡 my tremolo is much better. Its about to get a deep cleaning and a set of strings. Thanks for all the great advice... that build of yours looks and sounds incredible, very nice. 👍
Nice! What year is the Peavey? Did you know in the early 80s Peavey was no. 1 guitar manufacturer, great stuff. I call them the blue jeans of guitars. One of my earliest videos on the channel is rebuilding an old Predator (similarly rodent gnawed also). Let me know what you think of it, I love bargain hunter guitars.
@birdman316 from what I have been reading on forums etc the one with the pre amp is a newer model one, the model came out in 2007. From what I can tell the post-US made Peaveys don't have dated serials. Enjoy the new gear!
@@TheRevDr koool! its the sparkly silver with white scratchplate model as well... ill do a waffle n play soon with it as is b4 cleaning and restring....
I used to have a greg bennett telecaster, my dad liked it i have other guitars so he owns that 1 now (gifted it to him) its a really descent guitar recommend trying 1 out if anybody hasnt yet, i know i miss mine
Until today i thought Samick only made acoustic guitars. Impressive mod build. Would you ever consider doing a coil-split pickup mod on your hollowbody?
Hmm I hadn't considered it before but now you got me thinking 🤔 Thanks for the support it was a fun build and a great final product. That is a great idea for a future mod quest...

This rebuild, especially the pickguard, makes the samick really stand out with the color 6:09

im not sure where to code that as to when it was built...
it has the "pre amp" in it...if that helps....
