I've had my Marcum OVS 400 for 17 years now. I used to use it a lot more, I mostly use it only when my kids are with for entertainment. But back when I used it almost all of the time I learned a TON on how the fish feed and how they were reacting to my baits. These newer cameras are so much smaller and lighter than the one I own and they're about the same price they were that many years ago!
The first electronic I got was one of those old school cameras with the tube tv. It was amazing what I could learn with it! Though I'm glad I have something that fits in my pocket now for sure! I think everyone should spend a season with one just to learn

Great video - glad to see another Wisconsinite! I am seriously considering getting one for this ice fishing season but it seems like AquaVu is due to release a new version of the Micro Revolution soon. This one came out in 2018, right? Maybe the next version will have 1080p...
That was my guess too, something to compete with the Marcum Pursuit HD. I'm looking forward to it and I'm going to try and pick one up ASAP

Thanks for your review. I have a question. I see you can set your recording file sizes to 10-30 minutes. If you set it to 10 minutes, and then record for 30 minutes. Does the unit just create 3 files or does it stop after 10 minutes. And I believe the unit has 8gb internal memory. How long can you record with 8gb? Thanks again.
Honestly I've never recorded more than 6 minutes at a time with it. I just click it on when fish comes in view of the camera or sonar.
@@FishTips Thanks, I was wanting to just troll for a couple of hours and scan through the video.. If I would need to turn it on every 10 or 30 minutes, that would be a bit of a pain..
Does the 5.0 pro keep the infrared light on at all times? I have the 5.0 (not pro) and it leaves that on at all times and it really interferes with magnifying all of the small particles in the water. That's the one downfall I've seen with it so far, but I do like that it's so small and easy to carry around!
On mine it is off by default and can be turned on manually in the menu.

the wire clip is a pain in the ass to attach to camera
Definitely tricky. I just leave it on there most times.
Had one and returned it. They used a high gloss screen instead of a matte finish one and it renders the camera pretty much worthless for scouting as it was intended. All you see on a sunny day is a mirror reflection of your face. Need a towel drapped over head and screen in order to be seen. I could really only use mine in a darkened ice shanty.
Strange. I'm able to see it very well in full sun.
@@FishTips ur full of shit. I even tried to hide the thing in my fishing bag to minimize the glare on the screen and it barely worked, I had to be at the right angle to get rid of the horrible glare.
