    I'm on stock z51 coilovers and for the life of me I cannot get the black plastic sleeve to unhitch from the bottom perch. Even when using a razer-thin metal pry tool that easily gets in there. over 30 years of working on BMWs and subarus and this one thing has defeated me lol

      @@jaritsu using two screw drivers helps sometimes. Don’t give up!

      It’s actually pretty easy, it should just pop right off. Taking them off for the first time is a little bit difficult but like he said, if you use two screwdrivers, it’ll come right off.

    So, when calculating the amount to adjust the collar, either up-or-down, how many complete turns might be equal each 0.10 inch?

    • @ParagonPerformance
      @ParagonPerformance  3 месяца назад

      Great question, next time we lower a C8 Stingray we'll do some math. All our clients lower it the max amount of 0.75 inches so we go all the way to the bottom thread.

    Do yourself a favor.
    Dont remove that black guard with small screwdrivers.
    Unscrew the lower nut all the way off and the black guard just falls down. Then screw the lower nut back on by hand to the setting you like. I ruined my black cover just trying to get it off. Then lower the upper nut, tighten them both and push the black guard back on.
    Saves time and the plastic guard.

      This! I was wondering what the point even way to taking off the black guard. Seemed pointless in the end.

    After lowering my car with your collars and spanner wrenches my check engine light came on. I disconnected and connected battery engine light remained on. Took it to dealer and I have a bunch of suspension codes not clearing. Any advice? BTW your instruction videos are excellent!

      Double check your nose lift connectors, mag ride if applicable and other connections.

      @@vhayne91777 I lowered my c8 and changed out the brake pads and for some reason it activated a few codes. Make sure you follow instructions on disconnecting battery and car is completely back together before Re-connecting battery not sure but this may have been problem. @@williamsilva1669 Thanks for the reply. Were the codes easily reset? Were you able to reset them yourself, or did you have to take it to the dealer to do so?

    I tried this but unfortunately the collar kept spinning when i was trying to move the upper spanner. any tips? Does a pin wrench help?

      Clean the area and use more duct tape! Otherwise get creative with it and try that pin wrench!

      Nothing to worry about! Set it and forget about it. We even run our car with 20mm spacers.

      Was this Video lowering the front or rear? I couldn’t tell.. looked like the front as the end shows the guy tightening the front lug nuts… I saw another video but they used a spring compressor.. you make it look easier

    Can you do this with magride and do you have to re align the vehicle?

    • @ParagonPerformance
      @ParagonPerformance  Год назад

      Yes you can do this with Mag Ride. It's not needed but it's always recommended to check alignment when adjusting suspension.

    This method works for z51 with front lift no mag ride?

      Front Lift, you'll need our collars and wrenches for the rear coilovers.

  • @Abrandnew3

    For anyone who is watching you have to use duct tape and Wd-40 also helps.

    • @ParagonPerformance

      When lowering any vehicle it is recommended to have the alignment checked as you are changing the geometry of the suspension.

    I lowered my c8 like shown in video I noticed a hesitation in power, anyone feel this ? Or is there something i have to do ?

    • @markg459
      @markg459 Год назад

      This is normal because this method actually lowers the height by making the suspension softer, which increases weight transfer and changes the feel of acceleration braking and even steering, more clunky.

    • @badass1g

      Has nothing to do with power lol
