Cross dropping? Back then you could send 2 full squadrons of torp bombers and make an impossible to dodge web or torpedos that could relyably chunk anyone, and all it took was 2 squadrons, some waypoint management, and good timing
@therasco400 I never said I thought that it was worse, just that you still had a similar issue that left players fighting against aircraft sh- out of luck most of the time
Like if anything I feel like this makes the CV issue even worse. They get 2 modes: Recon, which is basically what we have in the game, and Travel, which is new So the carrier can at any point decide it wants to make it's planes invulnerable? Make it so it can travel across the whole map, directly over enemy ships, to hit a priority target WITHOUT taking ANY damage on the way there, so the priority target gets the full force of an squadron attack? Like yeah they can be "Dazzled" now but that's literally only for the few ships that have defensive fire AA.... which is basically only light cruisers... which are extremely unpopular to play in current meta. I don't understand how these changes are meant to make the game better. Not only that, they basically buffed the "Recon" mode we already have in game, by only having a single formation of the whole squadron be vulnerable to attack, while the rest of the squadron is still at high altitude unable to get hit. So instead of being able to wipe out half an flight if you happen to be in one of the few AA ships capable of doing that during an attack, now at MOST you can only kill the attacking planes which most the time is only 1/3rd or 1/4th of the entire flight. That last sped up clip shows exactly what I'm talking about. Currently a BB under attack like that can at least saturate the squad enough to kill a couple planes reducing the incoming amount of torps, but with this implementation he's getting attacked by 2 full health aircraft every couple seconds with nothing he can do about it as they maneuver around him. Leading him to take every single 2 torp salvo that flight has.
@@Brom2855 Why would I mention that? That's a _good_ thing. I'm just pointing out flaws in the current test implementation. I mean I can list other good things: Carriers have access to firing their own weapons. Ships wont get spotted by aircraft in "travel mode." DFAA is getting buffed. Priority Sector (or now "Manual AA") is getting a slight buff. Like there are good changes here, but the overall "package" is going to make it way worse for anyone going against a CV, which is the pain point of the game when it comes to CV gameplay, and what WG is trying to better.
lol, haven't touched this game in over a year and for some reason this video popped up in my feed XD that said they fucked this game up about 2 years ago and have been going strong on that path since... that said though, i LOVED running my 16km range Marceau in full AA support and just popping whole squads of planes faster than the dedicated AA destroyers could and even stronger than dedicated cruiser AA lol that's how broke they've made this game... it's very much a pay to win game and if you're not buying premium then you wont have good matches save for the 1 in about 200 or 300 games where you don't end up with retarded bot team mates that have no clue how to function as a team... most of the reason i quit playing this game and as much fun as it used to be you'll save yourself a LOT of headache by doing the same... it's a Russian owned company no less so honestly don't give them any $$$
I think they can solve that problem via making the whole spuad shootable when in spotting mode and making a new AA type for CA,BC,BCV,CV and BB's in the form of high-alt. AA (only long ranged AAA and also bofors for cruiser's) that functions at 3/4'th of the normal AA range and does full L-R-AA damage with half of the M-R-AA damage
so in essence, Ships with high AA may shoot down all the attack planes before the attack as the fire is only on the attacking planes. Ships with low aa will pretty much never shoot anything down as the damaged planes from the previous run will have dropped their load and not be included into the fight.
Yeah I don't fancy these changes a lot tbh. While I get why the travel mode exists (a compensation buff for the CV, since their spotting gets limited for a high period of time) this only exacerbates the problems that I honestly think make people angry at CVs. Thanks to the nerf to the attack mode (planes not getting replenished during attack runs) means that ships with low AA will become the primary focus and if they're alone, they become a sitting duck to farm damage. Ships with high AA or big groups (3 ships or more) become even more less appealing to downright not possible to attack them. I dont think these changes are good for neither the CV player or the ships they're attacking, players usually feel anrgy when the enemy Cvs constantly focuses them, and since these changes make Cvs forced to focus the same lone player, I dont think they're healthy, In my opinion.
I like that good AA now reduces plane attack run damage by shooting down planes propperly and CVs don't have to pre-drop to optimise plane destruction/replenishment and its nice that CVs can no longer perma scout DDs
I am all for whatever makes a CV player hated even more. The fact that I fight with a 1/4th of my power in ways that a CV would never do, and somehow I am still considered op is mind boggling to me. If everyone hates aircraft so much then bring back the old days where I could control multiple flights of fighters in a rts style. If there’s anything at the moment that truly needs fixing in this game it’s fire. Every match is just hug a island like it’s your body pillow and spam HE until your target becomes a charcoal briquette. Whichever team does more of it wins.
You know its crazy its still stupid overpowered but i do like the itteration better than the last. Thsy just need to cut the spotting distance for planes in half. Basically make it so you are almost always in aa if you are spotting a ship. Maybe give it a small buffer zone so you have to actually have some skill.
Ships with Overpower AAs, are always spotted in AAs range. So air spotting range should be according AAs power of the ship. Example the Minotaur, his AAs are OP, so he is spotted at 7.5km, so the player can have some time to react and don't lose all the planes in the proces. If the ship has poor AAs, then the spotting range should be 6.3km, so the ship will always do a minimal damage for being spotted. AND FIRST OF ALL, reduce spotting range for planes... being detected at 10km, it's so unfair. Planes are a fraction of size compared any ship, and they are spotted before the ship. SO UNFAIR. And last, but not least... if the ship use AAs in the smoke, he is spotted. Like old days.
Why not make all Secondaries manual? Have them automatic while on Main guns or Torps. That would give BB players (like colombo etc) something to do while they wait for the reload of their mainguns). I dont get why they only add it for Carriers despite not having any downsides. And aside from some Secondary ships (Schlieffen/napoli) some secondaries could use an upgrade.
For balance issues, while is a good thing for CV (it can defend itself now) for BB with strong secondaries like Bismarck, Schlieffen, Napoli, Nagato, etc, it will become a mess to balance. You have a better aim than the AI, this making them way to overpowered. The subject of making all secondaries manual will not fix by itself after a while with the usual "learn to play the game" method, this resulting in random buffs and nerfs that will make some ships be either useless or to brocken to play. Also you wont be able to rely on secondaries to wach your back while you aim at other ships.
@@dariusdarius4607 I understand your opinion, i meant just make them Manual (but a toggle to be automatic like usual (like AA)) and with manual aim the Secondaries still have the same Dispersion ) Only the leading of them (and fire in salvos instead of sequence). Sure it needs a Rebalance on some ships but still. Why do BBs even have the Secondaries if they cant do anything. The Bad dispersion is fine imo but maybe give Most of them a Pen buff to Do Damage at least if they hit (Example Colombo 15mm on the small guns is a joke, Make it at least 19 mm for super structures, Or give cruisers some Secondary Accuracy buff (Not Napoli or Schlieffen level but at least German BB like (only for cruisers) to counteract their weaker Secondaries a bit.
