- This is my staycation review at lyf Funan. Today, I'm staying 24hours inside a mall. Welcome to Funan, a recently renovated "tech" mall located in the city centre of Singapore. Funan is not a normal mall - it has a bicycle lane, theatre, movie theatre, bouldering gym, rooftop farm/futsal court, and a co-living hotel called "lyf". Today, I am vlogging my whole experience at lyf and Funan and give you a glimpse of how it's like staying at a mall for 24 hours.

I also love the fact that every floor of the lift lobby has a different design! Mine is at lvl8 and its filled with different cat heads!😂

In june and December we always have a anime festival
After the renovate the whole mall , there is no more anime event due to the spacing

@@rheagalsim7497 the anime festival will be held every november or decemebr but need to pay to go in and enjoy at suntec but due to covid there is no anime festival currently going

actually the MAIN reason they DUN put TV in the hotel room, it is to Encourage you to Hang out in the malls when you are bored and spend money.
if there is a TV, guest may just sit inside the hotel rooms and watch tv for hours, and the main draw to attract guest to spend in the mall is wasted.
I see, actually make sense that they don't put TV so people go out and spend money.
Nowadays where got peeper stay in hotel to watch TV one? Pay money to watch TV siao ah. Just piakpiak or watch shows on your phone or laptop lah.
@@manofthehour_ You do understand hotels were originally intended for tourists not locals, locals used to book chalets not hotel. Tourists sometimes watch tv with international channels for news when they are in their rooms at night.
@@lingth Ok so what is your point? That TVs in hotels are installed for the express purpose of allowing foreigners to beo news?
There's a room with tv where u can play wii or playstation (cant rmb which) and it has no channel so u can stream ur own shows!
I think lyf is designed like a hostel to attract the students nearby. The amenities are only slightly better than budget hotels and anything above $100 is not worth it

Very cool intro of this hotel. A great gastronomic tour of Funan too! However, am quite disappointed to see that the hotel doesn't offer bottled water and TV. Not quite value for money.

Singapore's water is clean enough to drink from the tap! Probably why they didn't include complimentary bottled water?
I think it's just to keep the costs low.. most hotels still provide bottled water for travellers although our tap water is indeed safe enough for drinking haha

It's an ugly hotel, and the layout is a nightmare. They're trying to distract guests with quirky design, but guests are being short changed by the small spaces and poor amenities. A bed side sink? What is this? Victorian England?
Personally I liked the old Funan mall, this new layout is confused and directionless.
It feels smaller but also more cozy though IMO
i think a similar experience of a hotel-mall experience would at the Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport at Changi Jewel, plus it has TV..

@@OhTheDeliciousIrony yes i recalled he said the sound proofing wss bad and that he could hear the tv from the next room at night.

Liho bubble tea is one of the worst in Singapore. So disappointed with how they turned out! Coffee shop teh c wayyy better than their plasticky sugar coloured water
