DroneLink developing a new framework for their SDK from scratch. Currently, the framework is in beta and a simple task like mapping 300 images resulted in more than 10 crashes during my testing.
The only problem is if you bought the Mini 3 pro with the RC controller . As of now you have no way to install 3rd party apps. With 48mp I'm going to assume most pilots will use this little drone over the heavier drones that you can hear from the moon. Just watch out for those birds. I would love to see a demo with the 48mp setting and comparing it to like the Inspire 2. Even though the Inspire 3 is now out.
What’s a Bayer filter? Let’s start from the beginning - a Bayer filter is a colorful mosaic of Red, Green and Blue filters that allows a digital sensor to capture color photos. Semiconductor pixels don’t “see” color, they only capture the amount of light that hits them, so without a filter you will get a Black & White photo. The Bayer filter makes sure that the light reaching each pixel is of one of the three primary colors. The way it works out is that a 12MP sensor, for example, has 6 million pixels that see green, and 3 million pixels each for red and blue. Green gets more pixels because the human eye is the most sensitive to that color. An algorithm called demosaicing is used to interpolate a full 12MP resolution image. A Quad Bayer filter is a bit of a misnomer as it’s actually the same as a regular Bayer filter. What really changes is not the filter but the sensor behind it - these new sensors put four pixels behind each color square instead of just one. So, really these 48MP Quad Bayer sensors can’t offer much more detail than a 12MP sensor. Sensor and drone makers alike will tell you that smarter demosaicing algorithms can capture more detail, but our experience is that the gain is small - if there’s a gain to be had at all.
Wow this is one of the best explanations I’ve seen! Coming from being a camera nerd this is why I always tell people that it’s not a true 48mp still, it’s just photo stacking in its simplest form.
So I'm doing this on Sept. 2024 and as of right now, the "pay once" options you get are $30-$60-$120. Mapping missions are available from the $60 plan and higher. However, some of the premium features such as camera angles and the map pattern are only available with the $120 and the professional, monthly subscription models. Also, according to the website, it states that professional plans need to be used for commercial work.

Dear everybody. My company bought me a DJI Mini 3 with screen RC. I need to set up this new toys a predetermined path thus I can download all photos and videos together with the associated coordinates to be shown in Google earth to make a presentation to the VIP investors. Quite a challenge, right? My restrictions are: 1) can't request another new, more advanced drone. 2) can't use third party app like dronelink or litchi to establish waypoints flight. So, what kind of solutions available to achieve the task? Many thanks to all possible advices!!
1. Am I able to open dronelink on RC controller? 2. How to edit a created map. Is it possible to open it in SketchUp or AutoCAD and draw sth? I want to make a map of my garden and project sth in it ,is it possible?
I saw that the DJI Integra Goggles are listing the Mini 3 Pro as being compatible - is that confirmed by anyone as yet? At least in being able to use the Integra Goggles to view the camera images like a FPV while still controlling it via the RC controls? Or more a 'future feature'?
With Dronelink for $50, do you get access to all services or just the beta app for the phone? Is this why you processed in dronedeploy because the $50 purchase cant do the processing?

I use an iPhone for work so I’m only getting this one for waypoints. Thank you so much for all the info, time and effort you’ve put into this!
Can you please tell me what version of the dronelink beta? I am using the V. 4.5.1 (249) Kernel 4.5.0 and it dosn't work with my dji mini 3 and the RC-N1
Right on! I am working on my 107 license right now and have a mini 3 pro to practice and get shots of my kids! i want to get into photogrametry since i do IT And most of my clients are construction!
I have the DJI Mini 3 (controller with a screen -- not the RC-N1). can i still make this 3rd party softward with dronelink work if I get an android device?
I have a question. I have seen a lot of bad press regarding very low performance of Dronelink on both android and iOS for the Mini 3 (standard) with frequent crashes to the point it is unusable. This seems due to DJI not supporting any efforts for ask post the mini 2 series. What’s your experience of this please and what android devices have given you the most stability?
You said it's been just about a year since the Mini 3 came out. Mini 3 was released in December 2022. The Mini 3 Pro was released last May. I took a double take because I just ordered the Mini 3 thinking it was a recent release and heard you say it was a year old already!! A little research calmed me down!!
For real? You better check the specs between the Mini 3 and the Mini 3 Pro. Differences....4k 60 vs 30 fps, O3 vs O2 transmission, 34 Pro flight time vs 38 minutes Mini 3, ISO Mini 3 100-3200, Pro goes to 6400, Asteroid mode in Pro, D-cinelike in Pro. Not quite the same platform in my opinion, but I did like your video about mapping.
So i got done link expert but i have the DJI RC controller, Trying to figure out the setup but would be cool to see a demo of that controller with this application too!
Can this be done using the RC remote without an android device ? Is it better in you experience to have the remote paired with a phone ? I am hesitating between the two options
Some how confusing. Mini 3 pro + RC Pro + drone link to make way points? Someone could please confirm? (RC Pro may be cheaper, that to buy a new phone?)
Are you having any problems currently? I just got an RC N1 and have tried everything in my power to get the mini 3 pro to connect. I keep getting telemetry errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do these digital shutter drones need to hover before capturing a photo? Or do they snap a picture as they are flying like a mechanical shutter drone (Phantom 4 pro)?
So you can only create a mission with waypoints with the browser and not within the app? You kind of have to be there and see what’s around. There’s power lines, trees etc .. that you can’t tell by just looking on google maps or any map .. the height of some of these obstacles . We know with the mini 3 no obstacle avoidance -sideways ..
Good video tutorial OK that is understood.... what I'm being co fused about is when I ask a question about the mini 3 wether on youtube or google... the answer is always the mini 3 pro.... no that's not what I'm asking. so very interesting video, thanks for it !! so i have been talking to guys who design golf simulator golf courses and wanted them to replicate my home course in Johannesburg, south africa. the thing which is required as a starting point for the designing of these courses are lidar points. It was identified the lidar points provided by the local council was missing the CRS for point cloud i was advised to try and get .las files or DEM (geotiff) files. from your experience with the mini3 pro can we achieve getting these lidar points or something similar which can help with this course building ?
pretty amazing update for mini 3 great demonstration well done
How much would drone deploy cost for processing?
When will this be available on the DJI app ❓ I have the mini 3
Thanks again Dylan!
Thanks for watching!
Love the content! In this video you say u done this for 5 years, in some you say 9/10, whats up with that 😂❤
Dear everybody.
What Dronelink app plan do you subscribe? Hobbyist or Professional plan?
What if we plan the flight from web but we realize that there are many obstacles on the site? Im a newbie
This’s so cool, thank you for sharing 🤝😎
With Dronelink for $50, do you get access to all services or just the beta app for the phone? Is this why you processed in dronedeploy because the $50 purchase cant do the processing?
Dronelink is only used for data acquistion, no processing at all which is why I used Drone Deploy for the visualization.
So, how much Drone Deploy cost? Is it free or very expensive? How much you pay for it?
@@DroneEksplorer drone deploy is extremely expensive.... Hundreds a month
@@DroneEksplorer 329$ for the basic individual, 499$ for the advanced. (per month)
@@BikesBobbers thank you for such a precise answer. It seems to me that the raw data from the very cheap mini 3 is practically useless until we process it. Is there any budget alternative to Dronedeploy?
Hello! Are you having any glitches with the N200? I watched some reviews and they complained about it hesitating and skipping in regular apps but if this software works fine for you then it’s fine for me! I use an iPhone for work so I’m only getting this one for waypoints. Thank you so much for all the info, time and effort you’ve put into this!
The N200 is a perfectly fine phone for something like this.
thx dude you're awesome, keep up the good work
How is everything but the Mavic 3 supported? That sucks.
Can you please tell me what version of the dronelink beta? I am using the V. 4.5.1 (249) Kernel 4.5.0 and it dosn't work with my dji mini 3 and the RC-N1
is the dji mini 3 rc controller now compatible third party apps
Where are you looking for customers?
Just a note, the sample images doesn't upload to Maps Made Easy
Hey, please clarify, dronelink is $50 one time or every month?
Hobbyist plan $24,99 one-time payment.
One time
Can you still control the drone from the remote while it’s flying it’s mission?
I have a question. I have seen a lot of bad press regarding very low performance of Dronelink on both android and iOS for the Mini 3 (standard) with frequent crashes to the point it is unusable. This seems due to DJI not supporting any efforts for ask post the mini 2 series. What’s your experience of this please and what android devices have given you the most stability?
thank you very much.. is there an app for the rc of the mini 3. I mean the controller with the screen of itself.
What if you havr the remote with the screen built into it
The regular RC, no. the 1300$ RC Pro can or the 120$ RC-N1 will
Damnit. LoL
@@BikesBobberscan u rephrase?
It runs android so you can install apps just like on the phone
I'm a new licensed pilot, am i able to do this with an apple phone ?
hello, can we have roof measurements with that ?
If I want finer grained control of the camera to be able to focus/zoom on things that I see while it's doing its mission, how is that implemented?
Is NEW RC useful in Photogrammetry and autonomous flight and mapping. also can we install different APPs on this
You said it's been just about a year since the Mini 3 came out. Mini 3 was released in December 2022. The Mini 3 Pro was released last May. I took a double take because I just ordered the Mini 3 thinking it was a recent release and heard you say it was a year old already!! A little research calmed me down!!
It’s the exact same platform, the only difference is the obstacle avoidance sensors on the pro. So my statement still stands lol
I stand corrected on the camera and occusync. However, the SDK works across both drones the exact same.
but does the mini 3 have a mechanical shutter? arent you going to get blurr and warping?
So i got done link expert but i have the DJI RC controller, Trying to figure out the setup but would be cool to see a demo of that controller with this application too!
How can we improve the quality of the model? It would need to be aot better to sell.
Can this be done using the RC remote without an android device ?
Is it better in you experience to have the remote paired with a phone ? I am hesitating between the two options
Hi Dylan, Any chance that in a near future it ll be supported on iPhone ? Thank You
Some how confusing.
Is the quality of this model good enough to sell to clients? Also does the program work with the RC controller?
will this work with a Mini 3 Pro and the DJI RC Pro Controller???
Thanks! Have you used Dronelink on the RC Pro with the Mini 3 Pro?
Good day. Once someone gets their license can you assist with helping that person land jobs/work?
I can help with the technical training and make suggestions on it. I don't provide work on my end.
Hi Dylan, thank you for this contents. I CAN use the RC with screen with all drones DJI or only for Mavic 3?
What is your thoughts on the DJI magic 3 pro? Will this be better than the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise?
Do these digital shutter drones need to hover before capturing a photo? Or do they snap a picture as they are flying like a mechanical shutter drone (Phantom 4 pro)?
It is a good news indid. dose the dronelink can be install on DJI Mini Pro DJI RC?
This is so sick. What do people use these maps for? Can someone lay out some good examples?
Are there free or cheaper apps than drone deploy, this one is more for the professional business user.
Check out WebODM or Maps Made Easy
Sadly only works on mini 2
So you're using thr mini 3 pro we ith the rc remote it comes with and then have a phone connected to it?
Can I use it with RC N1 controller?
So you can only create a mission with waypoints with the browser and not within the app? You kind of have to be there and see what’s around. There’s power lines, trees etc .. that you can’t tell by just looking on google maps or any map .. the height of some of these obstacles . We know with the mini 3 no obstacle avoidance -sideways ..
You can use the app however it’s really buggy with my experience.
Great! Would however love to know how the results compare with the phantom 4 pro.
I might have to do that!
Good video tutorial OK that is understood.... what I'm being co fused about is when I ask a question about the mini 3 wether on youtube or google... the answer is always the mini 3 pro.... no that's not what I'm asking. I do wanna know is the rc controller compatible with the mini 3??? Can U Help Please.... Thank U 😊
In this video I am using the mini 3 so it works with both
