Sam Lung hi
I stole a unicorn bookmark from a store when I was 3.
Mom made me give it back.
I was a nanny years ago and now a mother and on occasion my charges and children, when they were little, would take things from stores, without me seeing - all they saw was a colourful toy. Young children don't understand that you shouldn't take things, so I'm sure you were fine, Amber! :)
You're right! However, my mom told me I could not have it and I took it anyway.
"She [the girl] was almost in tears"
I'm three times her age and I'd have a full on mental breakdown if I was in that situation lmao
Also "are-den" gets me every time
Same, I freak out when cops follow me when driving :/ no reason to freak out, still will
Me too and I would never b able to return to that shop ever again Xx

Im so sick of getting searches tho dirty looks in shops just makes me want to start doing it , ill be havinv fun with my friend and get stopped
Apologize in public like you humiliated her and her family smh
I would think he was the one being humiliated. Being suspicious of a 7 year old. Being completely proven wrong. I would like to be that 7 year old.

I hope the $5 keychain was worth the negative publicity!
As a former retail worker, we were always told "NEVER accuse a customer, because if you're wrong, that's a HUGE liability...and 99% of the time, an immediate firing for the employee."
Ian Battles I work at forever 21 and they check our purses at the end of the day to see if we took something. It really bothers me because who will steal from thier job!? Also they check your purse infront of costumers and it's embarrassing like if I stole something the sensor will go off. But imagine if I feel like this imagine a little innocent girl poor baby.
Hello Pearl I worked 1 day at Bershka as an extra for the inventory and they wanted to check our purses at the end of the day. Mine was about the size of my hand... Well I showed it anyway.
Hello Pearl A lot of employees steal.
so freaking true.
Just FYI it's protocol for management to check employee with bags male/female. While you may not be one to steal, you'd be surprised how many people will otherwise why else would this be in place. Remember to use a recovery statement if you do work in retail lol
She's just a baby...jeez. pull her parent aside and have a calm convo...
Yah exactly
Why parents i mad
Yes, but she also was totally innocent----she hadn't picked up anything, so the accusation was a false one.
Baby? Bro shes 7.... did u go to SCHOOL?
When I was little I went shopping with my dad and when I walked out of the store the theft alarm went off and the security guard wouldn't let us leave until I gave back whatever I stole and I was so upset and scared. After what felt like forever of him demanding I give back what I stole, and walking in and out of the sensors, with them alarming every time, we discovered that I had a barcode sticker stuck on the bottom of my shoe. I'm still terrified of store sensors.
I'm so sorry this happened to you
Interesting. Because in my youth my thought process was trying not to punch the guy in the face for accusing me. I'm sure many children had this happen to them at some point because a fool for a guard assumes all kids are there to steal something and is just waiting for a reason to be a pest.
@@X6800 um, the alarm went off. That's literally their job
That reminded me one time the alarm at the bookstore went off... and the guy looked at me as if i had stolen sth... and he was surprised when i told him, check your cameras if u want to... I didn’t even get n yet... what’s wrong with your alarm? So he apologized...
I remember when i was 9 or 10 and i stole a Hannah Montana magazine from a shop (didnt mean to steal it, i was just tryna show it to my parents who were outside) luckily there were no cameras or alarms so nobody was bothered by it
they should get sued by the little girl's family for that embarrassing behavior

The_Chipmunk_Spoilers that's pretty ridiculous. i mean Arbene handled it well. they did the right thing to the security guard. we all make mistakes but suing is going overboard. why be greedy you know??
sucks how stores only apologize if the story gets to the media
Gautam Iyer yes sadly true.
Gautam Iyer they don't care if they did wrong or not, they only care about what people would think of them. So if know one knows then they do care.
I don’t steal, but I’m ever accused of shoplifting I’m going to create such a scene and make them wish they’d never accused me. Then they’re going to compensate me for humiliation.
I know lets just put everything on the media so all stores say sorry. :I
Gautam Iyer why else would they
No...that security need to have more training. She's too young to experienced that kind of humiliation in public.

Even if someone catches a kid stealing something, they should never humiliate the kid in public, calmly talk to them, tell them why it is wrong. And ask them to give the item back and promise to never do it again. Humiliating a kid can affect the kid and might turn them into a bad person when they grow up.
i don't agree with you there. if a kid is stealing something, he's already no angel. and hopefully this would scare him into ever trying it again. i worked in a ghetto community, and the gangsters start young there. i've seen kids still in diapers with shaved heads, and wearing cholo shirts, and the dads are all proud how much they look like a gangster.
I agree👍

I've worked store security several times in past years, and the primary rule is that the would-be shoplifter HAS TO WALK OUTSIDE the store without paying for the item(s) before they can be accused of stealing. That is absolutely essential---there's nothing that indicates theft if they're just carrying an item in their pocket, and especially with very young children, it's vital to NEVER make the accusation prior to the person exiting the store, when it then does become theft. If it's a little child, it's very important to just calmly and quietly take the parent(s) and the child aside and get to the truth of the matter; it's not unusual for a child to forget about the item in their pocket, and it's not unusual for a parent to just take them back inside and pay for it.
They need to send her a $50 gift card at the very least.
Ok Karen.

if that was me id want to make sure that store learns from their mistakes, im not just gonna let them off easy. is it still overreacting?
The publicity should be enough to encourage them to learn from their mistakes. And this wouldn't be defamation anyway. Defamation is written - slander is the spoken version. But with slander, you need to demonstrate the defendants knowingly accused you falsely - and you have to demonstrate damages to your reputation (usually leading to financial losses). As no other customers are likely to have known the child, it would be hard to argue her reputation was damaged.
thats stupid
Clearly you're ignorant of the law. Hope you're not a law student with that knowledge. Worse, I hope you're not an attorney and giving out such incompetent legal advise. Defamation is either Slander or libel you imbecile. Damaging the reputation of another by slander or libel is defamation.
"knowingly accused you falsely." Again, a total imbecile. You're applying a higher standard to a private party. A higher standard applies to public figures. This is a private person. The standard is lower.
Jesus you and those 19 people are imbeciles. As stupid as the idiot who falsely accused this little girl.
Once I was walking around walmart with my mom and I was buying my own stuff and one of the employees came and scolded me for stealing. I said I didn't steal anything. She said she saw me go into the dressing rooms and not come out with the clothes I was holding. I said I was getting another size and she said im lying and kept accusing me of stealing. So my mom came and she had the clothes I picked because I had given her them to hold. She kept making a scene and her manager ended up getting involved, so now she's fired
Good she's fired
Annjolie pelletier Idk the rules for the fitting rooms are usually on a sign for all to see. I had an incident where I had to cover the fitting rooms. Rule was 6 items. We would hand you on a plastic# on how many items you had. A woman had six items. When she gave them back to me she had put on a new item and left her crappy shirt on a hanger. I called security and told them what was up. The head of security let her walk out the door. I was pissed. If you tell security of a theft. You'd get a reward I think it was $50. So I'm sure it wasn't like a personal decision in your case. But people try ripping off stores all day long. Worse if you live in a city.
Annjolie pelletier You should've slapped her after you were proved innocent

I did loss prevention for a now defunct big box store. Here is what you should "see" before accusing someone of theft.

His problem was he blamed the wrong kid and my dad was lead council for the store. I received a letter of apology and a certificate for what I wanted but when you are a kid and accused of something and humiliated a "I'm sorry" Doesn't help you feel better. Obviously I am still not over it and I see the same look on her face.
Paisley Szu Szu you missed your calling as a novelist
Paisley Szu Szu I was falsely accused of destruction of school property when I was in like 4th grade. That teacher yelled at me in front of EVERYONE and told me I could be arrested etc. I didn't do it. Someone had wrote "Alexis Loves Zach" (Zach was my elementary/middle school "boyfriend") MY desk. It wasn't me, I wish it was cause the hand writing was awesome lol, all jokes aside you could tell the hand writing wasn't mine. It was the popular girl across from me. I knew her handwriting.
I stole a piece of cake from my fridge 😎
no way dude!
David Nava SAVAGE
Jazzy Playz Dance A$$
Jazzy Playz I stole a glass of water.
THE FBI IS HERE! BOTH OF YOU PUT YOUR HANDS UP!
Humiliation done in public is a lifelong trauma.
Such incident leaves a bitter place in a child's mind
Having experienced some humiliating incident during my childhood I can relate to her :(
I think this is as gangster as it gets in Canada 😂😂
Richard's World Traveler I'm dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a Canadian I'm offended
Richard's World Traveler I'm a Canadian and these jokes are not funny to most Canadians it's offensive
Not as bad as most places but we’re getting worse and btw Ezra Scarllet I think that this is a compliment to us Canadians. Why would we want to be criminals?!🤦♂️💁♂️
I'm a little upset.gif
Scarred for life
Same
You are everywhere
🍪
You commented twice on this video LOL
Stfu
"The security guard made her empty her pockets in public" dude it's like a 1$ key chain even if she did steal I dont think you're stores gonna lose that much profit
Just make the parents pay for it if you feel THAT passionate about it
Security should go after real thugs. They must be afraid of them. They have to feel big and powerful to acuss little girls. Either stupid or woefully trained.
Chris Miner
Real thugs? This is Canada. We don’t have those very much here.
No the security’s job is to be uniformed and on the site. Not to accuse, not to run after thieves, or confront gang members. You have a daily report sheet where you observe a crime and report it. Not confront it.
And boys.
That security guard was a Paul Blart. I know all security guards aren't like that, but enough of them are that there is a reason that movie was made.
+Janith You spelled conquered wrong. And next time you see a White person shake his hand and thank him for the computer and internet connection he created so you could type this message.
once when i was 4, i stole a gift card from a grocery store. poor little dumb kid i was, i didn't know it had to be activated first so i basically just stole a piece of plastic lol
WHen I was 7 I stole a minecraft gift card, because I really wnated minecraft, and it didn't work, I later figured out it needed to be activated.
Walmart had this entire thing with gift cards when i was little and they had such cool designs on them. I have no idea why but I thought they were free
🤣🤣🤣
it's only a dollar you ain't special same 🤣🤣🤣
Sure. Based in your name more like 24
I know its off topic but Wow that child is just beautiful.
Thats so sad she looks like such a sweet and innocent little girl.
This happened to me earlier this year. I was in CVS and the manager was stalking me and then the security guard started talking to me and waved at me and left so I kept looking. I went in the candy isle and the manager ran up behind me and grabbed my purse and started rifling though it only to say, "okay" and walk away. Needless to say I don't go there anymore. I was really shaken because no one else was in the isle and he came up behind me and I didn't hear because I'm severely hard of hearing. I filed a complaint but nothing happened.
Dancing in the rain I would called the cops they would gotten any recordings from store and u would have sued.
Wtf, that's like...harassment...?
In Norway there is no security guards in stores lol
Isn't that illegal since he was searching your purse without your consent or something like that, aren't they supposed to call the police, and THE POLICE will search your bag? Not the manager.
One of my friends said a security guard at CVS looked through her mom's purse, and stole $50 out of it. I now give security guards the death stare.
I too was accused of shoplifting in a family run mart in our neighbourhood when i was 11 yrs old! I never stole anything but they created a scene... later they found that they were wrong and apologised! My mom still shops groceries from that mart and since then i never went back and they still ask my mom about me not coming to their mart! Yea thatll never happen and i dont recommend anyone to go their mart...
KTM Trooper i think that incident was like 2 years ago wasn't it😂
KTM Trooper I think you should ask your mom to stop shopping from that mart too
Sue them as a reminder to not do to anyone after this
I would not shop at a store that falsely accused me or my kid of stealing.
WnD
You cannot Sue stores for that in Canada. We’re not bloodthirsty Americans who have to dramatize every incident.
So sorry to hear that. It’s a life time trauma to this girl. I experienced that when I was 9 and today I am 51. Still remember it vividly.
This is too much!!
This baby girl so adorable.
I'm so sorry for what happen dear ❤
It's crazy how many people this has happened to, some crazy lady accused me when I was little at a dollar store and I just started crying cuz I was so confused. My mom went off on the lady though lol
Good Mom
I had a woman threaten to have me arrested for littering, but no one told me it was against the law and I was a kid, so I didn't know any better.
This happened to me multiple times when I was younger. To this day I get paranoid that people think im shoplifting when im in a store.
Coolman71 Why are you being indifferent to his plight something like that can happen to you or your children
Coolman71 Never say that because it's not about you it's about the security officers or other cashier's that can do you harm.
Awesome 😔😔😔
me too, i got accused of stealing an ice cream bar when i was 6
@@michellesetiawan348 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Awwww she's such a beautiful angel ❤️
I remember when I was like 9, I read a children's book from a store without paying for it, no one cared. Although I almost got separated from my family.
She will always remember this unfortunately and her trust of people will be changed. When I was about ten years old and my sister 13 we went into a store while my mother was in the store next to it. While we were there a person kept following us around and I felt very uncomfortable. We started to leave the store and he stopped us stating we had stole something, which we didn't. I was a little braver than my sister and I said, I am going to get Mom, which I did. She and I came back to the store and my Mother told that person off. Its something you never forget when a person, in front of many others, calls you a thief.
Wow, I wouldn't have dared at 10. Though how could they let someone they just accused of stealing get _out_ of the store ? xD
Maybe because my sister stayed there while I was the only one that left or maybe he knew if he grabbed me and physically held me there he would be in trouble and if he called the police and found that we had taken nothing he would have had a heck of a lawsuit on his hands.
This happened to me one day. A family member's friend owned a local store and would let me come in and choose certain toys that wouldn't be "sellable" if that's even a word, if they were returns. This went on for a couple of years, until one day a new employee (a teenager) accused me of shoplifting at 4 years old. Despite being told that I was able to "take" those toys, she wouldn't believe it. We brought the manager and owner out and the teenager wouldn't apologize. We talked it over for a little while, and my mother and I were told to leave. We got called back in the next day, a security person that worked there and knew me talked to the girl and she still wouldn't budge. All because of her; we didn't go back. Kicker of the story, she got fired literally a month or so later for shoplifting. :)
TPG2009 I just remembered that was the worst part of being a child (which is pretty awesome tho) : when one adult allowed you to do something and another one tells you you can't. So embarrassing...
Yanna Laurent in this case its one adult says yes one teen says no
You had a great memory for a 4 year old
She was jealous of you getting the stuff.
thanks :). I just find it ironic she was stealing from the same story she accused me of stealing from.
if i was him, i'd rather pay for the keychain than see that sweet girl cry.
Oh my gosh that’s happened to me twice as a kid .... it’s an awful experience when you are innocent, it’s humiliating alright. Poor kid
Sweet little girl. I know there are some kids out there who make the big mistake of shoplifting but most this young, with such good parents are very aware about how wrong it is. I remember I was 5 when I accidently walked out of Wal-Mart with a pack of strawberry gum in my little hand. Distracted by my mom hurrying to pay for our items and the other costumers I had forgotten to put it up by the cash register. I realized what I had done when we got out to the parking lot but was so scared the police would come for me I didn't say a word. Even at that age I knew it was a crime to take something that didn't belong to me. Most kids do. I didn't eat one stick of that gum I felt so guilty and then forgot the incident until I was an adult. I went back to the same Wal-Mart got a pack of Strawberry gum, told the manager what I had done 15 years previous and cleared my conscience by paying for it :)
A few years ago, I bought a gift bag at Walmart and when I got home, I put it with the gift wrapping stuff. It was several weeks later when I opened up the gift bag to use it, and found "how to train your dragon" stickers that had fallen in there. By the time I could have returned them, the store no longer carried them, so their code wouldn't scan. They're still stuck to the front of my fridge, unopened. I can't use them out of a sense of guilt.
Rachel A. When I was a baby I used to steal spoons lmao But I was a baby but now I’m 9 and I’m not to shoplift
You owe 15 years of interest on that stolen gum
No one is gonna say anything about her eyes. Never seen such beautiful eyes before. She is blessed.
IKR ADORABLE
The girl is soo adorable.. and the way she talk leaves me in aww
That little girl looks so cold in that snow, my maternal instinct is telling me to make her a cup of hot chocolate and find her a jumper 😅
easy mistake for a security guard to make .....she looks pretty gangsta
john hendrickson Lol
john hendrickson like yo mama
john hendrickson He isn't innocent. He has no proof that she shoplifted.
she's only a kid why would she steal
john hendrickson I
I stole paddle balls from Wal Mart when I was five I told my mom, but we were already gone so she said just keep it. But i still felt really guilty up untill I was 8, so my after school program does this thing where cops shop with us for school stuff, so I told the cop, almost crying, that I stole paddle balls and would I have to go to jail. He said no and just don't do it again. I'm thirteen now and I've never stole anything since
Jaleeya yeah true
If I was her I would driven back to Walmart made you take them back in an apologize.
Ummm u do realise walmart makes billions of dollars so a little paddle balls isnt gonna make them sue you. But i still get that your guilty
Shaan Playz yeah
Mew Desu well sorrrryyyyy for having a concionse we however you spell that
why would they even do that to a little girl. a young girl most likely wouldn’t do that.
I choked when I hear of stories like this because this happened to my husband too. I wasn't with him when it happened but I feel how embarrassing it was for him.
I went there last month with my mom (I'm a 16 year old girl) and the security guard followed us around the whole store, even after we paid!
sounds like a pervert to me
