I suppose it goes w/o saying that cacti/succulents don’t require as much water? Even in the hot summer months? And when mulching plants, would i move the mulch around to fertilize or add systemic granules? I’m always concerned that the mulch is a barrier. Thx!!!
Yes cacti and succulents will require less water. As for fertilizing, if using granular fertilizer it's advised to scratch it into the soil somewhat. Watering thoroughly after fertilizing helps it gets to the roots where it needs to be.
