Oh Fern, this was glorious! Thank you so much for splashing our day with magnificent colour at this 50th Grasse everything rose festival on this rainy day! My mom, who would have been 100 this year, had a beautiful rose garden in her yard, ( that I would plant, and my rose garden as well), that all the city would visit during the summer gardens walks. You make thing so rich to enjoy for all. Alas, your time and season will come, just not yet…maybe next year’s! Hang on…. Thank You so Much Fern and Ryan for sharing this special event and not giving in to the rain!

It was a riot watching that car. We had a similar experience in Arles. That flat hat would be good at ascot.

Good morning Rose lovers! How gorgeous! I actually bought a "Brielle (sp?)"in hopes that our dry hot Spring ♨️🌱 would change too beautiful rain overnight & Sunshine showers in the afternoon to stroll by the rose bushes in bloom under my new umbrella ☔! (Isn't that a sound romantic ❤️ romantic image?) Thankfully I have some good news -many of the terrible fires are smothered by rain. It's a beginning. The smoke is very much reduced & not travelling all over the country. Thank God! That beautiful apricot Rose is stunning.Grasse is a beautiful place! In that hat shop I'm pretty certain I saw an original Maurice Chevalier straw hat. That's vintage & classic & ever so French! I so enjoy old 🗝️ movies. Really happy you and Ryan had the day together in roses 🌹🌹🌹🌹!(from this long winter the Deadwood in the roses is a labour of love of them to remove! Chop chop 🪓!! ). @@fernibops hi Fern, I thought I would ramble recipe at you. It's really yummy it's French. It's a one-pot wonder that you could make and have leftovers and do a bevy of things with it. It is called ratatouille. It's been a while I don't think I've given you the recipe before but you have to forgive me if I have. The timing might not have been there before but now that you're caravanning it might work well. Chop up the following. A lot of people fool around to take the salt with the bitterness out of eggplants I don't go to such trouble I think it's irrelevant. In cooking there's a lot of things. I often when I buy eggplants choose the youngest ones. They're not bitter. Anyway, chop up in relatively small pieces two or three eggplants, couple of baking onions, big bell peppers 🌶️, you can throw in a hot one too if you want not necessary. I really pressed for time but I feel led to tell you this!( Love being in sync with the pretty lady) three or four or five or six cloves of garlic 🧄 couple of zucchinis a big can of Romas. Or you could do fresh tomatoes chopped. Add all this to a big pot with quarter cup of olive oil. It is eggplant stew. So you stir it stir and Superman and add some fresh or dried oregano. As you might be aware it is a fairly strong herb so do it little by little after you get it stewing to taste. I would add about 3/4 tsp . I tend not to oversell things that all. There's enough salt in the canned tomatoes. If you use fresh tomatoes 🍅🍅 add some. It is great once it's cooked(simmered) for about 45 minutes or more, it's great over pasta, of your choice. We like spaghetti with it. It's good cold. You could make an omelette with it. Etc, etc. etc.. we put grated Parmesan reggiano cheese on top and chopped chives or whatever comes to the imagination. It would work in 🥬 lettuce. Like a wardrobe of uses! Hope this is of assistance! Love you guys❤❤❤!
