It's not racist if it' s a simple observation from an outsider that hasn't spent enough time around them to pick out the details that separate them from one another. Yellow Labs (dogs) are often mistaken for Golden Retrievers and vice-versa by people that aren't Dog-people. Doesn't mean they hate dogs it just means they don't know what details separate them at first glance. Yeah, that's one of my pet peeves.
