- Phil Hellmuth discusses the recent twitter debate regarding buying parts in players and just how you will make money. Some players say the markups are outrageous, Phil stands by making money via players regardless and explains why. The argument over this started at the super high roller. The WSOP 2018 has a lot of players staking. Many of the players staked at WSOP are champs that have made people a lot of money. What difference does it make marking up a small margin? Phil wants to make you money, none it seems - if as usual you choose wisely!
I'm sorry but this chick's voice is unbearable
If he is marking up a decent amount less than his ROI, who can really judge? Caveat Emptor. People want the fun and prestige of owning a piece of Phil and he gets to freeroll some equity so it doesn't really seem to be a big deal. People are just mad that he can charge that much and people will pay it.
I'm sorry but this chick has to go. The person who decided to hire her should reassess what they are doing.
His stats are there for everyone to see - Hellmuth, as much as he isn't world class or fundamentally exceptional like some of the newer generation, has some of the most solid WSOP stats in history. He does very well against those fields.
Actually Phil is just doing the thing that gives him an edge. Clearly he knows something we dont.
If people are stupid enough to pay it, then that's on them. It's no different than any other market.
I'm not sure what the big deal is, especially coming from Matt Berkey. In the short term, you would have made money beting on Phil. I'd used Mike McDonald's site but they do not allow US players.
What's markup ~ something stu ungar would say ✔
The best MTT players in the entire world are not favourites to cash / win. every tourney they play year on year.
E.g. some amazing tourney player like Fedor Holz , Patrick Leonard is not even a favourite to " win" the WSOP main event. If he charges you 1.8 , 2.0 he is freerolling. Phil is straight up lying to you guys please just look into it a bit and it really will make sense.
Phil taking advantage of people who don't understand equity and how the tourney scene actually happens behind the scenes who are actual fans of him is disgraceful.
There could be a true debate about charging 1.3 1.4 as people like a sweat and the best players in the world truly believe they are worth that price.
What a terrible choice of interviewer could not be more misinformed really bad choice in my opinion.
Fire her!
