How to Simplify the Square Root of a Non Square Number

- 👉 Learn how to find the square root of a number. To find the square root of a number, we identify whether that number which we want to find its square root is a perfect square. This is done by identifying a number which when raised to the 2nd power gives the number which we want to find its square root. If there exists such a number, then the number is the required square root. If the number which we want to find its square root is not a perfect square, we express the number as a product of the largest perfect square factor of the number. Then, the required square root is the square root of the largest square root factor together with the other factor of the number (which we want to find its square root) left as a radical number.

The add before this video: "What!? Still looking on youtube for math help? Are the videos from 6 years ago reeeaaalllyy working?"

Thank you i have a test tomorrow on this
You explained much better than my math teacher. Thanks!
thank you for the help. Its pretty sad that my teacher is so bad that I have to look for a teacher on youtube to help me
Bruh, be NICE!!!
... so what would the answer be? when figuring out the sq. root of 24, i cant just write down 2√6. i would need a complete answer (without any sq. root).
you would need a calculator and decimal approximation then, that is the exact answer
@@brianmclogan My teacher does not allow calculators, she wants us to change it by ourselves. Sorry but this isn't helpful : (
There is a way to do it. I figured it out once ,but it was too complicated that I forgot. I agree with you they should show how to find the squard root of 24
Exactly. The video is kind of pointless if you dont show how to solve without a calculator.
Toby, it is not pointless, most teachers don't ask it to be totally solved with an exact answer. Anyways, if you still want to know how to, there is an almost exact way of doing it without calculator, check this video, it is a math trick (let's say):
ruclips.net/video/PJHtqMjrStk/видео.html
Hope it helps.
2:09 why didnt u simplify the radical 6 to 3 but u did to the radical 4?
@@name-vw6ll because 6 is not a perfect square
Holy cow I'm replying to a comment written 3 years ago 😅😂
I’m legit 11 and I’m learning a quantillion times more I’m mr.Logan’s classes than school :/ honestly should just only watch his videos
In the beggining of the video you said 4x6 right? why 4x6???
Thank you to explain it
Thanks you
yes thanks i was sooo confused
bro let me udnerstand this in 2 minutes while i did a whole 10-30 page chapter on this in a book and I couldn't understand it
what are the examples of non perfect square pls help
Thanks sir.
Thank you sir
You are very welcome!!

Second day of 8th grade and already taking a test in science and learning this in pre-algebra and everyone else gets it and I don’t know how am I just slow or is it because of smt else 😭😭✋
How do you do square root of 5
RANDY ORTON LOL!!!!!!
What about numbers I can't break into two whole numbers like 11?
I have a test tomorrow and I did not understand what he said,I think I'm gonna fail.
Why can't that be given in interval notation like [4,6] ?
Can you elaborate?
Is there a way to do this without remembering all the square roots
Soooooo what was the answer again lmfao I'm so bad at math
what the heck is the ad before this video is trying to teach me?
sir what about root 91 plz reply

Finally! Someone who's fast at explaining and yet Understandable🙋
Wow 90% of the comment are getting mad 10% are saying thank u
Why was I born dum
From 1:33 - 1:50 is a perfect example of whats wrong with every math class... you didn't explain anything, you just wrote (to beginners) seemingly random numbers on the board without explain how you got there...
Too many math teachers assume everyone has the same level of understanding as them and conveniently gloss over the crucial steps. I know this because I'm a math teacher...disappointing.
Imagine if language teachers did the same thing...
Bro this is exactly it!!!! I math teacher even admitted once that he always understood math and doesnt understand how to explain it to people that dont get it. Quit your job!!!
Uhhh its simple tho
I dont understand what there is to explain so much. Its simple maths
Haven't done this in probably 7 years, it came back quickly. Great explanation
Btw you lowkey look like Randy Orton

Having you as a math teacher would be legendary.
Do your students know your a youtuber.
This is thousand times good then other videos.
Thank you 😊
I have watched SOOOO MANY videos and this is the ONLY one that made since. AND it's short!!

I am struggling with these and this helped so much thank you!!
I really have no clue what he was trying to explain in this video.
Here in my office we are trying to figure out how to get the decimal form of a square root. Say you have 3 square root 5. How do you find the decimal form of that?
2X2x6= 24 Divided By 6 = 4 thought I would do this math equation to confuse the peeps.
How do you find the closest number possible, lke how the square root of 172 is approximately 13.114
Nope.....the video was totally crap......it assumed the watcher knew how to get square roots........in the end what was the square root of 24?
Thank god. Everyone on yt shows us how to square numbers into decimals. Not sinplified it like 5√2 for example they would do 5.1718 . You get it, this saved me
What would happen if you would switch the number like in the video you said 2 square root of 6 would the answer be still right if you put 6 square root of 2
How is the square root of six any more “simplified” than the square root of twenty-four?
Thank you for these videos. I'm going back to college after about 20 years of not being in a classroom atmosphere and these videos are helping me remember lesson long forgotten.
HHHUUUUHHHHHH???????
I still dont understand! Ive watched multiple videos of non square number’s square root and I dont under stand it!
Not helpful
Never resolved the stated issue; still left with undefined square root of 6.
I think you are making it more complex not simpler.
Saved my life good sir...thank you very much
Useful info!
Sir thank you you just save me in my precal sub
I have a whole unit to go through for a test tomorrow wish me luck bros 😭
what if the number that your simplifying doesn't have a factor in it that is another square root. idk how to do square root of 10 bc the only numbers i can think of are 5 and 2 but they don't have a square root
That is a different method to approximate. You cannot simplify
I did poorly on so many tests because I didn't know how to do this, and now you're telling me that it was that easy the entire time?? Thank you so much.
ive watched so many videos on this and just still don’t understand lol
You look like you belong in an off brand old spice commercial
Bro I’m in 7 grade advanced math and this is so hard 😢
Meanwhile all the kids who don't even know how to get square root
wow,you explained so perfectly😭
Lol thanks so much, the problem I was on was litterally square root of 24 so very helpful
God loves y’all sm
Does this also apply to quadratic equations
The school shooting alarm went off mid vid
i guessed the title was for non square number but we al no 36 is a square number and we can easily get that the answer is 6
yes, that was a side example
SIR was just showing an example
Seriously!! We know already 9x4 is 36 and it is a perfect square . No need to break it down!
We were waiting to show us how to do the first example.
That teacher is a hot head, and can't explain anything without getting frustrated.
🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤❤🎉❤🎉❤ I am understand now. thankyou.
wat about solving for number 20?
The product number of 20 is √4 x √5
So it's 2√5
Sorry for my bad english
I am a 4th grader and this is great
I
Cant
Understand
A
Fucking
Thing
There is a formula to find the square root of such numbers. Let's say v24=x. The closest square number is 25 =y
(x+y):(2×Vy)=(24+25):(2×5)=49:10=4.9
So square root of 24 is approximately 4.9
Still in 10th I don't now square root
You forgot to explain why you do this. What's the point? What's wrong with √24 as is? On a calculator, it's less input to use enter 24 then √. If you go through this thing you're doing, you now have more to input and compute. Please justify the use of the term "simplify", because √24 is simpler to deal with. As far as estimating in your head, I know √24 is close to √25, so it's a little less than 5. Estimating 2√6 in your head is actually harder. So, again, what's the advantage of the thing you're teaching here?
