Being a part of the Texas Renaissance Festival for many years to now have been working there since 2008. You don't have to worry about our fireworks crew as they are specifically trained by the head Pyrotechnician. The festival is set in the 16 century. They have Kings and Queens along with their royal courts from all countries around the world, ex, King Henry VIII from England, King Philipe from Spain, Bonnie Prince Charles of Scotland. We also have a King and Queen of TRF who have a royal court of their own. The weather in Texas is very unpredictable. Most of the time, the first 3 weekends are hot or wet. Otherwise, they are absolutely beautiful and amazing. Just this past weekend, it called for rain the whole weekend, and all we mostly got was overcast and windy. I can say changes get made each year. Hope that helps with some questions you may have. BTW congratulations to your friends for winning the costume contest. I hope to see you next season.
Nice to explain the experiences in words. And you did that well. I am always interested in these events, also the old folk music. If I were your age I would definitely want to go to a festival like this. In the Netherlands we have Castlefest, which gives a taste of the atmosphere. Although I do see that everything is bigger in America. The costumes stimulate me to take pictures and film. Thanks for the clear wording in your vlog and for letting me taste the atmosphere. I subscribe and hope that many will follow me. Keep sharing your experiences.
My husband and I are going on the last weekend- Celtic Christmas. It's their 3-day weekend and the temps are much cooler. We've been making it a habit the last several years, even though we both had bad experiences the first time we went (different occasions for each of us but early in the year? Unless I lived there (not likely), I wouldn't go early-too hot and it's hurricane season)
We're also planning same weekend. My sisters-in-law flew in to town with a friend, picked up our daughter, and glamped there for opening weekend. Daughter came back full of tales. Convinced my wife that we should go - first time since she got sick years ago and has to be careful about outings. Should be cool enough for her. So we're fixing up our garb and will be doing a thing we used to enjoy again.
But the Henry and Catherine introduced in the 50th anniversary show that the king and queen introduced were Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon - which was our confusion for sure.
Why did the guy you were talking to about mead dregs sound like the potion making wizard? Lithodora is hilarious. I've camped out at the faire a few times. There's usually a fun bonfire with more comedy shows (vulgar jenga), with some nudity and people screaming at each other to put their phones away. :)

Thank you so so much for the kind words! I'm so glad that I can help bring that experience to you! Honestly I'd love to get over to Castlefest!

I definitely think we're going to aim to visit later in the season next year as well! We heard good things about Highland weekend!

The official king and queen of TRF are Henry and Catherine. I've always assumed this was meant to be Henry viii and Catherine of Aragon

@ParkerBliss King Henry and Queen Catherine are invited guests of the King and Queen of the Texas Renaissance Festival.
Any plans to visit the Maryland Renn Faire?
I would LOVE to!

He was so so much fun! I think we may try to camp next season!!
Omg I’d love to build my own mug! Do you remember the price range?
It depended on the cup itself! But some were much smaller! I'd plan to spend somewhere close to 100+ just to be safe!
Best thing are the Mexican Energy Bars!! 💯
Excuse? 👀
