Rewriting the X-Men's history was kind of the main point of this movie. They wanted to be able to continue with the prequel series with any story or using any characters they wanted without worrying about whether it conflicted with the original movies. Changing the past gives them more leniency to adapt and change without "being a mess". Or at least that was the idea.
We’ve successfully reset the timeline. Now let’s get busy dorking it up again.
And now they have Deadpool coming and being like 'Nope we are totally scrapping the universe the FOX characters are in'. Which I dont mind too much because it does allow for some adjustments. I do hope some how the OG Blade stays for just a touch longer, because Wesley is like Hugh, nearly impossible to replace. Though I am doubtful of the new Fantastic Four cast selection but given the actors a chance.

@@borke42yk that line was a joke right? for the new blade?
Whoever told you the ratings on this one is lower was lying to you. This is highly regarded by critics and fans alike.
And I do think you let that negative idea colour your opinion of the movie ultimately, considering you seem to have enjoyed it while watching.
Yea! I checked rotten tomatoes and the reviews were so high ~ Ironically it was my comment section and a few people IRL that told me it goes downhill in these prequel movies. I agree with some of the sentiments tbh but still enjoyed this!
@@ANGELINAA I think they probably meant it goes downhill *after* Days of Future Past. Which is definitely true. Apocalypse doesn't reach the highs of DOFP (nor First Class). X-Men: Dark Phoenix is just the worst. It's directed by one of the writers of X-Men: The Last Stand. He should just stick to producing.
@@ANGELINAA It goes downhill after this movie for a whole host of reasons that can't be blamed on this film, which is one of the best if not the best in the franchise. Mostly it comes down to bad writing and directing and studio inteference in subsequent films. Logan is also really great of course. Don't skip that one even if you do not watch some of the others.
@@ANGELINAA they mean the next ones.
Yea I think her critique was valid. But its one of the best X-Men movies and she mixed some reviews from her friends lol

BEST ONE IN THE SERIES!
It made $746 million dollars against a $200 million dollars and it was the first X MEN film to be nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Oscars.
Agreed. I was flabbergasted when I found out it’s not as well received as First Class - apparently that is
@@whateverdoesntmatter9868 I personally preferred first class since it focused on magneto and charles really well instead of just mutants as a whole. I know both movies did focus on both though.
@@giovannybarrera231 Yea I think it’s fair to say that First Class is more character driven so I understand ur pov
This movie’s great, it’s Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix that people don’t like
@CorrectFossa And...I hate to even mention it...New Mutants.
Apocalypse is OKish but Dark Phoenix is tough to watch.
@@cyberleadr They got Anya Taylor Joy as Magik and wasted it on that shit
@marketamala1032 I agree. Not as good as DoFP for sure, but Apocalypse has a lot to like. The flaws pale in comparison to those of Dark Phoenix. But at the end of it all we get Logan so it's hard to complain.
Shut up! X-Men: Apocalypse is good wasn’t that bad then Dark Phoenix
Xavier and Magneto were both shown alive and with powers at the end of The Wolverine. Their scene sets this movie up. They don’t go into details other than Charles put his mind in another body (possibly his brain dead twin, can’t remember if that was confirmed) and that the “cure” from Last Stand was only temporary and not permanent.
The exposition at the beginning of the film was meant to show that Raven killing Trask and her subsequent capture and torture turned her into the Mystique we met in the original trilogy. It brought her back to Eric’s way of thinking. That’s why when he confronts her she says that her efforts at this point in their relationship wasn’t enough for him because up until then she refused to be his assassin.
There are a lot of allusions to destiny vs choice in this movie using time travel to show the juxtaposition of these themes, and I think they did a fantastic job with it.
I recently found out that eventually Bobby AKA Iceman gets so powerful he can freeze the atmosphere. He becomes an Omega level mutant on the same level as Magneto.
he can basically decrease the temperature of molecules, which pretty much means he could stop time if he wanted to, but it's easier to do it with water thus he mostly uses ice
Also like the comment below me said, his consciousness exists in every molecule of water so he can regenerate from almost every death, they said fk it and made him immortal LOL
In Age of Apocalypse, he got evaporated by a Sentinel in the first issue and just reformed once he got cold enough. So yeah, he's very powerful.
That’s scary to contemplate.
And he once LITERALLY froze hell over
every mutant can be an omega level mutant eventually. just depends on what the writers want.
THIS is where the deadpool joke "mcavoy pr stewart? these timelines are so confusing" comes in lmao
Magneto (Erik Magnus Lehnsherr) is the father of three mutants known as Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff), Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) and Polaris (Lorna Dane)
The movie “The Wolverine” takes place before “Days of Future Past” in the timeline…and the release date. It’s a good movie
I don't know where you got the idea that DOFP is not well liked. It's generally considered to be one of the best X-Men movies.
She confuses herself then blames the movie.
Ratings a bit lower? Who sold her that piece of misinformation? This one along with X2 are largely considered the best of the franchise. It all takes a massive plunge downhill from here though.
Also timeline explanation. X1, 2, 3 and Origins are all now alternate timelines due to the events of this film making First Class and the following films the new timeline. In Logan and D&W there are references to events in the first three films still occurring in the new timeline.
Quicksilver explanation is wrapped up in film rights issues at the time. Both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are members of the X-Men / Brotherhood as well as the Avengers. Which lead to complications over film rights. Marvel and Fox came to an agreement in which Marvel got Scarlet Witch and Fox got Quicksilver while Quicksilver could be in one MCU film and Scarlet Witch could be in one X-Men film, which never happened. Of course Disney then bought Fox and the rights issue was no longer relevant and of course the whole Wandavision thing.
Overall the timeline stuff in these films is very messy and confusing and only made more complex with Deadpool and Wolverine. Just best to ignore it all.
Wow, not one comment on the Quicksilver action sequence? One of the best sequences in the franchise.
They did explain on how prof, X came back. With these movies you need to watch post credit scenes at the end
In The Last Stand end credit scene, Professor X has transferred his mind into the brain dead patient, thus never really died.
However, as Days of Future Past has changed the events of this timeline, things shown in the previous movies, no longer happened in the way we saw.
The brain dead patient was his twin apparently so it made sense that he looks the same
@@NaegeruGaming Who also happened to be a handicapped lol
This is definitely a great installment in the franchise in its own way. It certainly proves itself as a seprequelboot (yeah, that’s what I’m calling it). My favorite character in this was obviously Quicksilver, he’s just the only one having fun in this movie.
this sort is generally called a Soft reboot.
@@Caderynwolf but seprequelboot is a great word though.

Probably my favorite X men film😮
It was so nice to have the old csst back.
50-55% rating is crazy. This is probably the best in the franchise of the X-Men movies. Not including Logan and the Deadpool films.
Yeah she definitely misunderstood somethings that I feel like if she actually understood she would give this movie a higher rating.
@@daniellawrence7926She didn't want to understand it, she thought it was lower rated and tried to form her belief around what she assumed the masses thought
First five movies deleted but, X-MEN First Class still happened.
1:15 what...? This is the highest rated and the highest grossing X-Men film of all time.
I disagree with the negativity around this film- it was critically generally well received along with first class and it made a ton of money!
Fun fact- this film is based on an X-men comic storyline of the same name, which is about time travel to prevent robots causing the apocalypse... but it predates the Terminator films!
I love this film! Best in the franchise. This is the franchise trying to undo the events of The Last Stand, which was generally considered to be quite unpopular. I love the ending with Wolverine waking up in a rebooted ideal X-men setting- I want more movies in that era! We never get enough of the Scott/Logan/Jean dynamic- an essential pillar of the X-men comics! With some notable exceptions I actually think the films go downhill AFTER this one!
Want to go into a movie with a fresh mind? Try not looking at reviews before you actually watch it. I know, mind blowing.
Unless if shes already watched the movie, I'm surprised she skipped The Wolverine (2013) and went to this one since the movie has a scene after the movie that sets this movie up.
She watched the 2nd Wolverine movie. It's a patreon exclusive if you wanna see her reaction to it. Same thing with the 1st Wolverine movie
The fact that she skipped both that one and X-Men Origins makes me think she plans to do the Wolverine films separately.
A moment of silence for the salty viewers who desperately wanted her to watch the Rogue Cut instead...
Mystique was doing her own thing because Magneto was in prison, paralyzed her adoptive brother Charles, and when they first meet after he got broken out of prison Magneto tried to kill her
You really gotta not let so much outside perspectives interfere with your enjoyment of these movies. Who knows, you could really have enjoyed the next two movies, but we'll never know because you're 100% already made up your mind about them and that's a damn shame
CORRECTION: This is actually the highest rated movie in the series ( Even better than first class)
I like how you said “I know this isn’t how Stryker found him, cause I saw Origins”, as if this movie didn’t just change ALL of the X-men movies history. The events of this movie takes place before the events of Stryker’s strike force in Origins. The history is still a lot of the same, but many of the smaller stuff along the way have largely been changed.
There's a post-credits scene!
En Sabah Nur!
Funny your thought on this movie, I don't know where you got the ratings from, but this is considered up there with logan and normally above first class
Angelina, Blink and the other mutants from the beginning of this movie appear in the tv show, the Gifted , that was on tv in 2014
Enjoyed that show, upset it was canx.
@@ETwin999 Loved Blink. Will have to watch that now.
I often forget about that show, even though I saw every episode (and love Jamie Chung). It's funny how Blink became such a fan-favorite after her short-lived first appearance in the comics. I think the folks at Marvel realized their mistake, which is why they brought her back for both the Age of Apocalypse crossover and the Exiles series (since the exploration of parallel universes gave them that option). And it's wild that such a seemingly inconsequential character has been featured in two live-action productions. Can't keep a good character down, I guess.
In regards to the timeline, the main part of the film is set in January 1973 (as demonstrated with the Paris Peace Accords), roughly 11 years since X-Men: First Class (which featured the Cuban Missile Crisis).
Funny that you mentioned a difference in Mystique's colors. Jennifer Lawrence reportedly suffered skin irritations from the full body makeup in First Class, so for this film, she wore a bodysuit.
She gave the best X-Men film a 50 out of 100. Wow. Will the next two go into the negative? Talk about overthinking things.
Also, this is why you don't focus too much on reviews before watching a movie and allow them to color your own reaction to it, especially if you're getting the reviews completely mixed up (in the entire franchise, only Logan scores higher than this one.)
Can't even take her seriously now
In the comics, Magneto was Father to Quicksilver(Pietro) and Scarlet Witch(Wanda), and they were...twins? 🤨😉
The future is after the last stand. Magneto got his powers back and Professor transferred his consciousness to another body. It’s the same universe what they do in the 1970s ends up erasing the original 3 X-Men movies which is why Jean shows up alive
This film is based on Days of Future Past (1981) a storyline that depicted a possible dystopian future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps and ruled over by sentinels who first made their appearances in X-Men #14 (1965) as iconic robots used by humanity to police Mutants. We actually saw a Sentinel in X-Men: The Last Stand during the opening scene in the Danger Room. It was hidden behind smoke so we never fully saw it but Wolverine did cut it's head off, throwing it towards the camera to reveal a head of a Sentinel. Shame it took us so long to see them again in the movies.
But moving back to the comic. It follows an adult Kate Pryde who transfers her mind into her younger self, the present-day Kitty Pryde from correct day comics. Her mission is to prevent the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly along with Charles Xavier and Moira MacTaggert thus stopping this awful future from happening. In the end the assassinations were prevented and the story ends with the X-Men being unsure if they actually prevented this dark future from happening.
Seeing an older Kitty with decades worth of experience was really cool because Kitty only made her appearance a year pier in Uncanny X-Men #129 (1980) so fans were unsure on how they felt about this new teenage character. Introducing an older version in a very Kitty focused story allowed for major character development and showed fans that she can be a really cool character. Should also note that Marvel comics exist within a shared universe alongside ever other Marvel IP. So this dark future not only effected Mutants and the X-Men but also The Avengers, Fantastic Four etc. Many of these hero's dying during the early stages of the conflict along with most of the X-Men.
The film changes things up by having Wolverine go back in time. And having it set before 99% of the films means that the events happening in 1972 creates a new timeline moving with re-writting everything we know from the movies besides First Class. Global history but also personal history with characters, origins etc. This is something you'll notice moving forward with the next films, they'll be differences. Things that don't line up to what you know from the original films and that's because we're following a new timeline. It's how we got a new Deadpool with zero connections to X-Men Origins along with Raven changing massively to what we know from the original films. And of course Scott and Jean being alive among other things as well. It was Fox's way of throwing out that didn't work and keeping what did.
Another interesting fact is that this comic pre-dates Terminator (1984) by three years both having a similar narrative of preventing a dark future with time travel. I'd argue that the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) is the best Terminator film since Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) compared to the actual Terminator sequel's.
On a final note if you want some amazing X-Men I highly recommend X-Men '97 (2024) it's amazing and is just so much better than the films. If your used to the X-Men from the films then you'll get so much whiplash from seeing versions of these characters who are closer to the comics. Both in design and personality, along with accents as well something the films just don't attempt. Rogue is a great example of a character. And Cyclops actually gets the respect he deserves, along with characters like Gambit who never showed up in an X-Men film.
gambit was in wolverine origins
@@nickmilo932 True but mostly refering to the mainline X-Men films with Gambit being a key member of the team. We never got that in the movies beyond an appearance in Origins set in 1979.
@@LittleGalaxyBoy absolutely.

That's why I like reactors like MovieFusion. Everyone told him X3 and Apocalypse are absolute trash but he formed his own opinion and didn't back down from liking them.
the best one in the franchise
Some answers to some questions: At the end of The Last Stand we see that Magneto moves a chess piece so the "cure" is not permanent, also in the post-credits scene we see that Xavier moved his mind to that of someone who was brain dead. This movie is to reboot the franchise and start over.
What prevented the Sentinel project from being approved was not only that Mystique did not kill Trask, but what truly scrapped the project was that a mutant saved the President of the United States from the Sentinels on international television.
The Last Stand and Origins: Wolverine were a huge disappointment and the saga was practically over as several important characters died or were neutralized. This movie was made to restart the saga and tell stories where characters like Cyclops and Jean Gray can return gloriously, or at least that was the initial intention. This movie was considered the best X-Men movie yet and gave the fans hope for what was to come, I'll let you find out if the following movies lived up to it.
Just to chime in here. X-men days of future past is not like what youve heard. This film is perhaps the best X-men film. I’m excluding Logan as its own thing. The movie is supposed to retcon X-men The Last Stand since it’s the weakest of the original trilogy. Plus, those scenes at the end of that film do establish that magneto still has his powers and that Charles is still alive. Overall, I think you may have misinterpreted what you’ve heard, and that bias got to you when reviewing this film. I think you were a bit harsh. Furthermore, which time travel movie have you seen that wasn’t confusing and didn’t have any plot holes if you thought about it long enough. Those two poorly reviewed X-men films you mustve heard are the next two films X-men: Apocalypse and X-men: Dark Phoenix. Overall, both first class and especially days of future past are well received.
Personally, I remember enjoying this film many years back when I haven’t even watched any of the other X-men films except First Class. In other words, Id say it stands alone very well
'The Wolverine' movie took place between The Last Stand & DOFP, there's an after credits scene in The Wolverine that sets up DOFP
U should have watched the rogue cut. It fixes a few things. But the movie is still great.
Why is it that Hugh Jackman looks hot in every movie he's in? He aged so well 🤯
Remember the cure at the end of last stand slow wore off that’s why magneto has his power meaning mystique regained hers it’s the same timeline just in the future
11:53 originally scarlet witch and quicksilver were both mutants and magnetos children in the comics.
The post credits scenes are to be considered part of the film. Its not like a hint or anything, they were just straight up back by the ending of X3.
Damn, you’re so oblivious that it’s crazy. They showed that the cure didn’t work for long and then showed Charles waking up in another persons body, so…
Watch “The Wolverine” that’s technically the sequel to last stand

Pretty sure she watched it. It's a patreon exclusive.
@@salmankhan2739she did watch it, it's just a patreon exclusive
Days of Future Past did happen in the comics and is one of the most loved stories.
Kitty being able to send someone’s mind back in time is an extension of her phasing power
Trask was technically in X Men before. In Last Stand played by Bill Dukes as the head of the DHS and aid to the president during the war with the mutants. First name never said. Gave him the Emma Frost treatment.
On top of that, the giant robot they were fighting in the danger room in Last Stand had a more comic accurate Sentinel look. Or at least the head did.
Yes, it’s time accurate for Wolverine to have his bone claws in 73. He gets the adamantium in 79. But also, like Reese says, the timeline is messy
I still remember watching this movie for the first time, watching Charles tie his arm and get out a needle and being like “Whoa! Whoa! WTF?!” And then sighing in relief when Hank says it’s a serum to treat his spine
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are associated with both the X Men and the Avengers, which is why they could be inlcuded in both film universes, although differently. In the MCU they couldn’t be mutants.
According to the screenwriter, JFK’s power may have been a telepathic form of persuasiveness
Keep in mind Magneto didn’t try to kill Mystique originally. So they probably reconnected at some point after he was imprisoned.
Mystique being disguised as Stryker goes nowhere! Ignore it!
Was Mystique out of character, or did she grow as a person?
I thought they communicated well enough why Mystique assassinating Trask is the lynchpin for everything. It paints mutants as a threat, which causes support for the Sentinels, and her subsequent capture after the murder lead to the new ones, and so on
How Xavier’s alive and how Magneto has his powers back isn’t really important to the story of this movie. The answers to both those things are in Last Stand. I can’t say they were communicated well enough, but still.
This is generally regarded as one of the best X Men films, alongside 2, so it’s kinda crazy you rated it as low as you did
I just recently watched The Rogue Cut that included all of Rogue's scenes
Days of Future Past is the best of the X-Men series, and by some margin. Unfortunately, Angelina seems to have been influenced by the misapprehension that this is a bad movie in her final analysis, which is disappointing.
At the start when you were asking if this was a prequel or sequel, this is a RetCon Sequel, using time travel to be a Prequel. Everything Wolverine did in the past changed the timeline, so the original movies are technically non-canon for this timeline now. The future world we saw here is where the original movies were leading to. Trask was really the only one that FULLY understood his work, though, so it took others a long time to advance his work. The Sentinels we see here are only activated BECAUSE of the incident in Paris, where Trask, presumably, was originally killed by Mystique.
And Professor X is still alive because the end of Last Stand, we heard Charles' voice saying "Hello, Moira." So supposedly he moved his consciousness into the braindead "John Doe" she was talking about earlier in that film.
"In the future she was so loyal to his cause. I wonder what changed that." Almost being murdered by someone you trust tends to sour relationships, Ange. :p
Have people's opinions on this movie changed in the last couple of years? I saw it opening weekend and have heard nothing but good things about it ever since. I really think you overthought this one, sorry.

It's not _just_ the post credit scene in "The Last Stand" that establishes Charles' resurrection. A line earlier in the film usually gets overlooked that's meant to set that up.
Charles talks about, "Now, this case study was sent to me by a colleague, Dr. Moira MacTaggert."
Moira (on a video recording): The man you see here was born with no higher-level brain functions. His organs and nervous system work, but he has no consciousness to speak of.
Charles: Now, what if we were to transfer the consciousness of one person, say a father of four with terminal cancer, into the body of this man? How are we to decide what falls within the range of ethical behavior..."
_That's_ the patient being referred to is implied to be the body that Charles wakes up in at the end of the movie.
How that person ends up looking like Charles or why Charles would still need the wheelchair is anyone's guess. Honestly, Last Stand, and Origins were both so stupid, who cares? Origins isn't even canon anymore, thanks to existence of the first Deadpool movie (thank God).
And this movie retcons Last Stand into oblivion.
the reason the first class series is more mystique centric is due to jennifer lawrences popularity at the time. she just won an oscar and the hunger games were hugely succesful that the studio decided that she needed to be the main character. i dont blame her this felt it was out her hands.
It's gone now but I made a comment earlier about how I havnt seen one of those telegram profiles in awhile.
Huh weird that people said this has low ratings, going to assume they were talking about the ones past this. This is generally considered the best or second best movie in the franchise. It’s usually between this and Logan
Ngl, seeing you trying to figure out the timeline was kinda painfull xD but your confusion was 100% understandable
Not to be like mean or anything but if you watch the wolverine first it would make more sense since that one was before this movie and it sets it up
I don't care what people say in movie ratings. This one is my favorite.
Don’t look at the ratings I feel like it ruins things because by far this one of the best if not best in the series
I think you relied too much on whoever said they didn't like this one. It's probably my favorite one. And I haven't seen (outside of this video) people say Days of Future Past is poor. Now I have with the next one and agree it's weaker but this one felt golden
36:33
If I may explain about that one thing. So the Sentinels being created, Mystic finding out about them and everything was meant to happen no matter what. Even her trying to be captured for the Sentinels adoptabilities, all of that was meant to happen.
what was supposed to change was her killing them, because they just saw her kill Magneto and fear they were next, but because Charles was able to clear her mind, she didn't do it.
That choice made the politicians think "She didn't kill us. Maybe not all mutants are bad" that change of mindset made them not want to increase & upgrade the Sentinels. Changing the future Wolverine came from.
Imo i thought the best X Men movies were Xmen, X2, DOFP, First class, X3, Apocalypse
Jin Kazama vs Kazuya Mishima
I can’t wait for you watch X-Men: Apocalypse next💙
I was surprised to hear that you heard negative things about this film. This is a top-5 X-men movie (including the Deadpools & Logan). IMO , this is one of the best movie adaptations of a major comic book storyline. The next film, Apocalypse, has some issues, but I still find it to be an enjoyable movie. Dark Phoenix is rough, probably not worth watching that or New Mutants.
I think this is one where it benefits you to know the premise going in, so you aren't trying to work out what timelines are happening and why certain people are alive etc. We all knew most of that going into the movie thanks to trailers and interviews and stuff which meant most people watching the movie at the time wouldn't have been as confused as you were at the start here. But even then, their attempts to simplify the timeline did make things even more messy and the next couple movies did not help that.
This movie is after "The Wolverine"
X-men 3 Last Stand begins with Xavier talking about a man in a hospital with brain death and asks if it’s ethical to put another consciousness in that body to save a life. Then at the post credits scene we see Myra answering to Xavier’s voice in a hospital room from offscreen, implying he put himself into that brain dead persons body. Audiences didn’t like that so they left the explanation out. These days most assume it’s a multiverse situation, back then it was just business.
I’m so pleased that you’re watching the X-Men universe and enjoying it !!❤. I hope you’ll watch X-Men 97 too it’s soooo awesome i’m sure you’ll like it 🙏🏻
this movie gave me chills. the interactions between cherik had me gasping. The ACTING truly gave me goosebumps ahh
This is people’s favorite mines as well
Probably the most essential X-Men movie outta the whole franchise.
This is by far my favorite of all of the X-Men movies. All of the prequels are awesome (Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix are less good but still solid), but this one was on another level. Such a great movie.
By the way, the Summers boys are brothers. Cyclops is Havoc’s younger brother in the films.
Wolverine in the changed future is the definitive ending for the Fox X-Men to me.
Your explanation on being difficult to make another coherent X-men movie is spot on. This is the last X-men movie besides the prequels. Days of Future Past was made to retcon the franchise and start over. After the poor reception of Last Stand, they had to run it back and do something to redeem themselves.
i'm still salty they revealed the charles talking to charles convo in the trailer.
Funny thing is people talk about the problems with time travel about how Mystiques one decisions changes that horrific future a unrealistic or the movies trying to tie everything up, but if there is any Doctor who fans out there who know about "Turn Left". Mystique was deciding to go too BK instead MCD she decided not to murder a man which would become world wide news and that mutants can shapeshift and now are murdering people who just want to product humanity. This fear would fuel government to work on the sentient project. If someone is significant enough in history them changing can have huge effects on the future. Hell in the original series she infiltrate's the school tricks Rogue to leave and breaks into cerebro, she helps magneto breakout of prison, manipulates strykers son into targeting humans she was magnetos greatest asset so if she never joins him now he is basically playing Chess with have of his pieces gone, it makes sense alot of the movies would alter will we know exactly what no, but we know Jean is alive and the sentinel program never gets off the ground.
They did explain how Professor X came back and how Magneto got his powers back you just need to watch the post credit scenes at the end of X-men the last stand and The wolverine which setup this movie
This is last of the best. Have some whiskey and a smut mag for the next ones (except for Logan. It'll be provided for you. )
Peak of this series right here.
You’re forgetting the end credit scene of Last Stand where Charles transferred his consciousness into another person’s body, and effectively in comic continuity(they don’t show it in the movies), he was able to change the body to his…unfortunately, that meant the paralysis as well for some reason.
Regardless, he came back there. Then he and Magneto get Logan at the end credit scene of The Wolverine for this movie.
It doesn’t mess with anything for him to be back. It doesn’t ignore anything. This just happened to be an instance where you forgot something, it took you out of the movie because of that. But, hopefully, now that people have reminded you of it, you can go back with a clearer picture and rewatch the movie to understand it’s actually a good movie and deserves a lot higher than a 50-55%
The timeline makes sense if separate it into 2 universes. The first one would be the first x men trilogy and the wolverine trilogy and the rest of x men movies starting with first class would be a separate universe
Thanks for being more critical of this movie, that's a take that usually isn't heard. Time travel is so rarely done well that it's baffling how common of a trope it is in movies that are highly speculative
38:27 Yes, they got rid of the Lore, so they could make new Lore! that's a huge opportunity, rather than a negatve.
This might be the greatest or one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. Without a doubt it's the best X-Men movie in any case although the Rogue Cut is even better. I even prefer it to Logan although both get a 10 out of 10 stars from me.
There are things that don't get explained like how Charles is alive again and in his own body in the future timeline but even with that the acting and character moments are so amazing that it doesn't matter. The butterfly effect of Mystique not killing Trask could easily have changed everything, especially since she then had the opportunity to take Stryker's place and also undo all the harm he caused.
The Quicksilver scenes alone are just fantastic and some of the best ever filmed. What I like about Days of Future Past most is that out of all the franchise it comes the closest to capturing the spirit of the X-Men team from the comics.
I highly recommend that you watch the Rogue Cut of this film and don't get upset that it makes you think or question things which is not necessarily the sign of bad movie.
Bone claws are accurate. He didn't get them until well after Vietnam.
I would love to see Star Trek reactions on Your channel. 🖖🖖🏻🖖🏼🖖🏽🖖🏾🖖🏿
2014, big superhero movie year.
But after introducing Guardians of The Galaxy and awaiting the return of the Avengers in the MCU, Marvel/Fox's Children of The Atom were just getting warmed up.
Based on a classic storyline from 1981 that pre-dates The Terminator (believe it or not).
The end-credits of The Wolverine (2013) showing the name "Trask" drove people (us fans) nuts because most of us knew who he was, what he would make and where the fate of the universe was going.
Bryan Singer (pre-controversy, y'all know why) to direct this 5th movie of the series aka "X4" was unprecedented.
Blending the castmembers of old and new became such a blast.
Introducing newer characters in both eras to greatly effect history was perfect.
As always, the constant tones of the film series endure.
Good and evil, prejudice and tolerance, grief and faith, similarity and difference.
The hallmarks of the comics, 50 years old at the time, being interpreted as they suppose to be.
The Rogue cut (2015) is the complete version of the film.
Without a doubt, this was the biggest X-Men ever.
It broke several Box office records and became the highest-grossing X-Men film for 2 years, dethroning X3:The Last Stand.
From here, the evolution goes into overdrive.
You are going to love the next 3 films.
Oh you’re certainly in for a treat!
Alex Summers/Havok is Scott's brother.
Prof X and Magneto made their appearance with a nod to trask in Mangolds first wolverine movie
In the extended cut kitty and Bobby die and Rogue takes over keeping Logan projected into the past
