Why is summer so perfect for horror? I don't know, but it just is! Great recs!
It’s that campy feeling 🥰
Hi!!! Im an avid reader but never got into horror. I’ve just read a few Stephen king’s books more on the thriller topic and really enjoy detective and dark novels so I really appreciate your recommendations and I’m so glad that they are not new, because I’m tired of trying to keep up with the new releases. ❤
Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed! Yea, keeping up with new releases is exhausting. Unless it’s an author I’m super fond of I barely keep up with them 😂
@@marcyreads el otro día entre a tu Instagram y me di cuenta que sos Argentina?? Que genial voy a poder comentar en español 😅 soy de Misiones.
I added so many to my list! I also love your shirt!!
Yay! Hope you enjoy! 🥰
ahh so many summer horror books to add to my tbr ❤ i’m a new subscriber and wanna say ty for all these cool new book recs
Omg thank you so much! 🥰 I hope you enjoy the recs when you get to them.
Thank you for all these book recs!!! I will definitely give some of these a read!
yay! Hope you enjoy!
I just subscribed! I love horror but I do read pretty much everything. I just got back into reading horror after binge reading most of a court of thorns and roses series. My girlfriends were all obsessed with acotar but horror is really my fav genre.
Me adding more summer horror books to my already long TBR... thanks for the great recs!! Definitely want to check out Castaways because I felt the same way about Off Season. Dead Eleven is my list already 😊
I hope you enjoy Castaways! Pls let me know your thoughts when you do get to it. Happy reading!
I just found this channel! Yaaaaaaaay!!!!
Subscribed!
Thank you so much! 😊
Excellent video , perfect summer season
Thank you so much! 🥰
Some great recs here - thank you!
Thank YOU so much 🥰
Summer is my favorite season for horror too 😊 I also loved Dead Eleven! Thanks for some new ideas for my TBR 👀
😂 Hope you enjoy the recs! Happy reading!
Awww! RL Stine and Lois Duncan! My YA favorites back in the day. I Know What You Did Last Summer and Killing Mr. Griffith were my favorite Lois Duncan. Sadly, her daughter was murdered in 1989 and she stopped writing horror, but she is a pinoneer in YA horror.
oh wow, that's horrible! I'll add these titles to my TBR cause I'm interested in reading more by her!
I definitely read more thriller than horror, if I read any horror. Even though I don’t read horror, I liked the idea of reading horror for summer.
I have a cruise coming up next month, and I’m def adding a couple of these to my Kindle.
Great video, thanks for the recs!
I hope you enjoy your cruise!! and happy reading!
"And what do ya know, something evil gets unleased.🤷♀️"
I dont know why that made me crack up.😂🤣
LOL!
I tore through so many Lois Duncan books in my early teens - loved em!
I’m so sad that I never got to read them back when I was young but it’s never too late 😂
Dead Eleven was so good! Wasps in the Ice Cream has been on my TBR forever. I need to get to it. My TBR just got longer. Great list of books! I just got Chlorine by Jade Song to read this summer.
so many books to read 😂 Happy summer reading!
Oh wow that Rio Youers book I have had a copy of for awhile
Have to read it as well
So many books to read 😂 hope we love it!
I absolutely loved your channel. Love when there is an option for every kind of horror to explore, nice mix of selections. I have to agree with you about the elwment, Micheal McDowell, however, read his 'The blackwater series' or Cold moon over the Babylon. 😊
I have both of these on my shelves. I have a feeling I'm going to love the Blackwater Series.
I just finished. "The wrasp in the ice cream!! I just found my new favorites!! Omg!! Where was your channel all these time, what a story!! ❤ now I'm off to, You're not supposed to die tonight.. let's just say Prime from Amazon will be stopping at my home all week long!! I ordered all your recommendations 😂. You are fantastic!!
Great list! 🦈
Thank you!
No wedding ring?! So you're telling me there's a chance!!
😂 I’m very married!
Great recs. A YA horror I like to reread each summer is Mina and the Undead, set in July 95’ and as I’m a 90s baby it gives me the vibes.
Omg he’s i e heard of this one but forgot about it. Adding to my TBR! 😂 thanks!
@@marcyreads Glad I can help as usually it’s me adding to my TBR from your recs 😂.
Summer always feels like a horror season to me
yes! same 🥰
The Elementals was the last book that kept me up until 4 o'clock in the morning! SO GOOD. Unfortuately that was back in 2012 and though I have read tons and tons of stuff since then, I still haven't found anything to compel me to stay up that far past my bedtime :P
Oh wow, this is awesome. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I hope you find another book that makes you stay up past your bedtime. Those experiences are the best! (maybe not so much the next mooring though 😂)
I’m gonna check out You’re not supposed to die tonight. Cool title and cover. Violet sounds intense. I’ll check out that author. I’m gonna read my first Robert McCammon this summer. And I’m gonna write a vampire novel. I’m enjoying the vid! 🦇🦇🦇🦇🎃🎃🎃🎃👍🏻
Which McCammon are you reading? He’s such an amazing author!
@@marcyreads Speaks the Nightbird. Kelsi Slime and Slashers was praising it in her latest vid. He’s her favorite author.
Stinger is pretty good it is one of my all times fav you should give that one a try
Your not supposed to die tonight's ending got me
right? I was a bit nervous with the weird turn it took but it definitely worked.
Joyland is a summer book I recommend a lot!
So so good! I completely agree!
I was pleasantly surprised by the old McDowell selection : The Elementals - McDowell also wrote The Amulet, & Cold Moon Over Babylon, which were good - McDowell tended to write "Southern Gothic style horror, whether it supernatural or not.
I don't know much about the modern horror book scene, but some of your selections look very intriguing...
I have Cold Moon Over Babylon on my TBR and I have a good feeling about that one.
I'm looking to dive into a new epic fantasy series and am torn between "The Licanius Trilogy" by James Islington and "The Faithful and the Fallen" series by John Gwynne. I enjoy rich world-building, complex characters, and intricate plots. Which series do you think I should buy, and why?
I haven’t read either of these but I do have The Faithful and the Fallen series very high on my TBR.
@@marcyreads lol cool. That's the one u went with, I'll let you know how it goes.
he descubierto una mina de oro con este canal
muchas gracias!!! 😍
I read Carrie for the first time last summer and it was awesome it’s a new favorite Stephen King
It was a certain time of month and I was some feeling some type away about it, so in the moment, I was reading, Carrie and just like fully getting behind it
I was doing some immersion reading, so I was listening to the audiobook as well as reading it digitally and sissy SpaceX herself the narrator for the audiobook
Wow what a great experience! I love having immersive reading sessions, they are the best!
Can't believe I just came across your channel, subscribed and appreciate the great recommendations!!!
Thank you so much!
also kill river by cameron roubique is soo good!!!
one of my faves!!
Loved r.l stein
such a classic and nostalgic author.
I just found u. Really like u and ur vibe 😊 do u only read horror books?
Hi! No, I read a bit of everything but horror usually makes it on to my tbr the most
@@marcyreads ok. Awesome. I'm not too picky with reading.. fantasy is prob. My fave. But I like hearing what others enjoyed and pick different things up. 😊
When I see a book with a VHS on the cover especially a horror book it really makes me miss Blockbuster Video
Omg yes!!! 😍
@@marcyreads slumber parties and blockbuster weekends are the memories of my adolescence specially horror movies 🍿
I'm presently reading J.Ketchum The girl next door, and oh my....what a story..based on a true story, even more horrific than the horror I normally read.
OMG that book is ROUGH!!!! It was so hard to get through!
I read this a few years back for my horror book group and I have to say it was too much for me. I’ll never read anything more from Ketchum because I just can’t handle it 😩 I’m more the “haunted house” horror type of person. Another book that was too much from me was “the troop”. Maybe you would like that one if you like Ketchum books
@@danat3961 i loved that book, thnx anyways for the recommendation!
I recently read The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas and it was such a great read! 5 stars for me! You have to ckeck it out since i know you will love it also!
LOVED The Hacienda so so much! 😍
My favorite 'romantic at heart' horror is "returning with nothing". There's even a manga made out of the book.
The story is that the main character is weak, he struggles horribly until eventually he dies.
His consciousness returns into the past and he gets a chance to live his life in a different way.
Only that... he is still weak. No special skills or anything.
In his second life he meets the daughter of the leader of a terrorist group.
She is a pure genius, extraordinarily talented, like no one else.
He struggles for more than 2000 years in order to become the person she can look up to.
The story is pure horror, and what he goes through is insane, but it's really the kind-of hidden romance between them that drives it.
😳 sounds right up my alley. I will definitely check this out!
May I have an authors name?
