I already like the new intro. Instead of making the viewer think "is he gonna win this one?" which is the case for 90% of the runs posted on RUclips, we're left wondering "oh what shenanigans are we gonna get with [this card] now?"
@@ChaosLord5129 You know what the card does, but do you know what combos and synergies come up in this specific run? Do you know which cards and relics dropped that made the card particularly notable? Isn't that the beauty of Spire, where the same card could be good or bad, or good in a different way depending on how the RNG goes?
@@ChaosLord5129Let’s say he upload a video and intro be like “if this not a sadistic nature deck i don’t know what is” with 2 Sadistic nature in thumbnail and ironclad, now without looking at the archives tell me what combo he accomplished.
@@ChaosLord5129 You're still wrong because you don't know EXACTLY what Baalor got in the video he uploaded. Unless you mean to tell me you can just guess from the thumbnail the specific card combo he picked up in the video itself? You know what CAN synergize with the cards, but you don't know what combo Baalor managed to pick up. That's RNG. Did you manage to guess the Kunai pick up? What if Baalor picked up Storm of Steel before Kunai? What if he picked up Storm because he had a shiv/discard deck hybrid? oh wait, he didn't. You're still gonna have to figure out as the video goes on, how the deck was built around the cards in the intro.
I never take Frozen Eye because I like my runs to be mindless card-playing instead of heavily tactical. With Frozen Eye I always feel like I could've strategized better, ha.
Really showing off the power of an early frozen eye plus draw/discard. Seemed like a middle of the road deck but the feet definitely put in work. Nice!
Favorite & funniest moment of this run to me was the card rewards after the Champ fight -- his reaction when he saw Storm of Steel next to not one, not two, but three of Silent's best rare cards. "I think we all know what's going to happen here."
Love watching these. Have you considered making a playlist for the Mastery Challenge? I started near the beginning but I'm sure I missed some videos and will never find them. :(
I found that Poison deck with 2 or 3 upgraded Catalyst are OP when we get to around 40 poison on a Boss. But Shivs can be OP as well though i like Poisons more and more.
Old video I know- but I just had a Silent run with Caltrops, Bronze Skin, Thorns potion, and a Dead Branch Caltrops. The Heart took 20+ damage per hit. It was glorious
Ironclad is a tricky character. You either stomp or get stomped I find. Best advice for him would be to lean into the ironCHAD and focus offence, trying to find alternative ways to block outside of block cards or just not block at all and try to heal your way up the spire, he’s got the means to do that. Silent has a really weak early game but gets ridiculous around act three. Try to be cautious through act one and two until you’re sure you can slap some fools with giga poison, shiv spam or just dance around them with discard/card draw nonsense. In essence, clad is chad, be aggressive early but keep an eye out for his busted cards and synergies for later on. Silent is not chad, play it safe until you have enough damage or have received a truly broken synergy out of nowhere, shuriken and one blade dance goes hard.
Finisher with ink bottle and storm of steel. Just imagining when that frozen eye lets you know it's the next card so you could storm a hand of shivs and then do a huge finisher. /yummy
Watching you, I've been thinking about Neow's Lament a bunch. It feels like a generally bad choice, especially compared to random common relic. It's a chain of gambles: Can you make it to that elite without any fights? And if you do, will the elite drop an uncommon or rare relic? And if it does, can your deck (which might be short on card picks now) still perform going forwards? Compared to simply "here's a boat thingy, have fun", that multi-gamble seems like a bad choice.
If you’re gambling on getting one elite, then yeah, it’s not a good option. As said above though, sometimes there’s a guaranteed elite snipe, and sometimes there’s a chance for a burning elite snipe, both of which are quite worth it. I also think you forgot that the two easy pool fights can still hurt if you roll a relic which doesn’t help combat, and jaw worm can easily take big bite with a bad draw order. There’s a bit of health saved on top of the free elite, which can help. I will agree that it’s rarely the best option though.
if the snipe is guaranteed, it's better than gain a common relic and never has a downside. (you simply can't reliably kill an elite that early and not pay with your face)
@@Saetanigera It seems quite unlikely that an elite snipe would be 100% guaranteed. Even a single ? room has a 10% chance of being a monster, increasing by 10% for each ? room that does not have a monster in it. I'm not sure what the lowest floor an Elite can spawn on is (the Wiki is unusually silent on this - heavy Googling indicated some debate on whether it might be Floor 6 or 7, but nothing concrete). Lets go with floor 6. In order to get there and still have a card left in Neow's Lament, you need to pass 4-ish floors with no combats (first floor is always a combat; you can afford one combat along the way). That means at LEAST 3 ? floors (assuming one floor is a shop). So, even if you see a path with two monsters, one shop three ?, and an elite, you still have only a (0.9*0.8*0.7 =~) 50% chance of getting there with Neow's Lament intact. And then you might get there, kill the elite, and still end up with a common boat thingy anyways. Yes, it's not guaranteed that you'd kill a Floor 6 elite without taking a mouthful of damage, but then, if you aren't trying to snipe him, you don't have to fight him on floor 6 anyways - you can take some other path with more common fights / shops before you fight your first elite.
man, I know its A20, but does he have a mod on to remove all upgraded cards from the pool?? XD It feels like none of the offered cards have come pre-upgraded
discovery+ is, just like nilrys codex. it's because you generate solutions to the fight since champ is a long fight and you can set up; discovery can give you catalysts, footworks, wraith forms etc that let you beat his second phase much easier.
It takes up a slot in the draw. If you draw only five cards per turn and one is useless, you've effectively only got four cards that turn. Better to be able to use that card consistently and make sure it's not occupying a slot a useful card could have had.
@@martonantoni575 makes sense but if that's the only reason then its not THAT good, more like it saves you from a slight health loss in one or two situations all game
@jumpedintheriverwhatdidise5499 Treat it like a curse. Sure it doesn't cost anything to play, but it's not *doing* anything either. It might as well be another Ascender's Bane. The whole purpose of the Bane is to take up one of the slots in a draw, leaving the player less to work with. Same principle applies here, if the card isn't doing anything.
I would always take accuracy. Even when I've no Shivs. They are so common you're bound to find one. Here you could have had 2 accuracy then a cloak and dagger straight away. That would pretty much see you through act 1
It's risky. 2 accuracy before any shivs is the same as two extra curses in your deck. On A20 you really can't afford to do that very often. Where as cloak and dagger/blade dance are both good even without accuracy
I don't get why he removed two strikes so far instead of shame (not finished watching yet). If you have two useless cards, why keep the one that potentially hurts you?
For mastery challenge, a self imposed challenge where a mastered card is where he wins a run with 2 copies of it, including curses and colourless cards

Hey just had a video request. Would like to see either a tier list or guide on the common enemies and elites kind of like you did for the bosses.
What mods show you the chance of a potion, chance of rare cards and the event overview tab?
A mod call Infomod. If I remember correctly it's not on the steam workshop

At 13:27 , how come he is frail but the monsters are still doing the regular 10 damage?
frail decreases your block, you might be confusing it with vulnerable
1:36:50 Wasn't it better to Corpse Explosion the bird to deal 54 to the boss ?
Nu uhh, I wont elaborate.

Storm of Steel is one that I struggle to find a lot of uses for. The only good run I had with it was with Dead Branch, which got me my heart kill.
Now that's an intro I can accept

Well, sometimes the map guarantees an elite before the 4th fight. That's when you really consider Neow's Lament.
