Baalorlord's consistency is absolutely incredible. It is such a rare trait. He is always answering questions. He is never condescending or frustrated. It seems like he always shows up. And he gives the people what they want. I'm sure he has bad moods, but I've never witnessed it.
Yeah, I haven't checked his VODs but I do check out his other channel for Monster Train content, have watched him more than 5 years now, I have NEVER seen him in a foul mood. Never complaining about back-seating, repeated questions, unusual requests or be salty. Always telling chat about in-depth STS mechanics & having a good time. **Insert Martin Scorsese's meme JPG** "ABSOLUTE ENTERTAINER"
100% the lack of a condescending attitude towards viewers is such a fresh change compared to some other STS streamers. And you can tell Baalor was a teacher in his previous life - both entertains as well as educates, the perfect combination!
@ look no further than his current life: he was indeed a teacher teaching Chemistry before becoming a full-time streamer. Hence the Chemistry puns, every once in a while
Imagine being Champ, having your dignity be thoroughly questioned as your opponent, seemingly much smaller in size than you, just stands there, menacingly, taking all your hits as if they were a just a passing breeze. And as you finally start questioning yourself, they bash you in the head with a mace and then spin like a tornado in mere seconds, tearing you to shreds, not even giving you the time to regret not taking them seriously from the get-go.
Timestamps for when Baalor picks up the cards in the thumbnail (Flame Barrier x2): Both of them!: (37:18) (Floor 30 Combat) "Stop hitting yourself!" says the Ironclad as he... does the exact same thing. [just realized I accidentally reworded the description. whoops!]
32:52 The first time I ever used the plan in a Silent run was against a book of stabbing I had nerfed into the dirt with multiple malaises. While stalling for my pots each multihit turn eventually took at least one full minute.
Hey Baalor Like many others you have inspired me to begin the ascension climb I just recently reached A15 on silent! Thank you for sharing your wisdom and good runs (and puns, can't forget the puns) xD here on the youtubes.
Well, tbh, RNGesus works on statistics & Baalor has probably played STS at least 3x more than you, if not more. So, RNGesus has no option but to bless him from time to time because of his sheer dedication.
Tbf that mindset of "planning for a deck" makes you more prone to feel that way, instead of dealing with what youre given like super-strong Sts players like Baalor.
!! I had something like this yesterday on mobile! I had so much self damage, blood letting, brutality, combust, hemo, 2 ruptures+, offering. Dual wield reaper... My strength at the end of the heart fight was 100+. Honestly, I had fun. Which I normally never have fun with the clad as he's so limited, you either get what you need to make it work, or you build the exact same boring runs.
Clad has many ways to build, even the same few archetypes have lots of variety to it. If you feel like Clad's boring, you could try going for Anger builds or Fire Breath builds, though Strength builds alone provide much amusement for me.
Thumbnail guy is going to have an easy time this video! 51:12 Wow that’s some mad autopilot brain. Didn’t realize he got a random chest and absolutely could have taken the clay.
Hey, I do remember a run where you blocked Book of Stabbing in a very similar way. Went all the way to 21 or so attacks. Just commenting because you said you've never had a block solution for this enemy - I think with all the runs you don't remember. But definitely done before! Edit: I think this was the run. I must've watched it live, at least this part, and was confused.
Not sure you ever read comments on YT, but may I suggest a polarizing filter for you camera to remove reflections from your glasses. So we can see you're beautiful eyes of course
Heartwarming: Ironclad reads "Art of war" and decides to take the pacifist route, what happens next when he tries to share his discovery to the heart may shock you...
I guess exhaust synergy is just better in the later game with the next few combats solved on both picks but who knows, twin strike probably an alright pick
Also you might view Ethereal as a bad thing, but it can be very nice to allow it to exhaust in some fights when you don't need it, or if you need block from Feel no Pain, or if you're doing other things like trying to go infinite or heal off Strength + Reaper etc. Allowing it to exhaust intentionally can situationally be helpful.
As everyone has mentioned, Carnage exhausts itself, so later on, when Carnage and Twin Strike would've both become underpowered compared to other cards, Carnage just peaces itself out whereas you need to Exhaust Twin Strike. That and Carnage is better upfront and Strength is not guaranteed in the long run. That and already having Ice Cream meaning high-cost cards are even easier to play, on average. If you already had some Strength going on, Twin Strike would be the better pick, but on average, I would personally go for Carnage every single time.
It was truly a vile and disgusting act. He just sat there unfazed as he slowly beat this book into smithereens. Things that only pure evil is capable of carrying out

Truly a professional good time deliverer

@ I know - I refer to his past life being the teacher as he’s now a full time content creator

"Forgive me, great warrior..." As the sword hits make increasingly deep gashes in your armor.
Sans fight if Sans wasted dozens of turns (dodging in the meantime) before unleashing his strongest attack.
I hope in sts2 they add little event for when this happens , for example if you tank champ after x turns he would finally see you as a challenge.
@ Alternatively, if I was Ironclad:
"Die, you arrogant bastard"
Meanwhile you're just there eating some ice cream

Book of Stabbing: STANDING HERE, I REALIZE
I AM FUTILITY
That heart fight though. Flame barrier, more like nanomachines.
33:58 "Judge I've demonstrated the loop" :)

Baalor getting 4 Offerings in 1 run while I can't even get a 2nd Claw or Pressure Points is truly proof he is ordained by RNGod
Prayer wheel is one hell of a drug
... question: "are-en-jod" or "are-en-gee-od"
@@svnhddbst8968 "are-en-god" was my read

I'd wager Self-Forming Clay was a win more relic at the point he found it, but I've definitely done this myself and kicked myself afterwards.
"Stop hitting yourself!" Said Baalorlod, as he stood there menacingly at the corrupt heart
And those damned thieves instantly stole my bitrate!

What an incredibly fun deck, and this video seem to be a potent antidepresant with no side effects, thanks mr Bonkmaster!
The man is allergic to Fire Breathing and I don't know why lol
15:38 *FULL BLONK*
Sometimes you got to stunt on the spire.
43:45 SPEEN!
Not sure you ever read comments on YT, but may I suggest a polarizing filter for you camera to remove reflections from your glasses. So we can see you're beautiful eyes of course
Such a satisfying way to win.
The miniature should have said "stop hiting yourself"
Full blonk is mt favorite slip so far
I overly love zero-cost-cards. It would be instant Flex-choice for me in 13:53
But yeah... I know it's not the most optimal, but I still like those.
I immediately thought the same. Been watching BL for years and while I can often predict his picks, I didn't in that case.
This heart fight is stupid (complimentary). :D
Heartwarming: Ironclad reads "Art of war" and decides to take the pacifist route, what happens next when he tries to share his discovery to the heart may shock you...
35 card deck at the end of act 2, you love to see it
i cant beleive he took havok
11:52 why carnage+ over twin strike+? twin strike scales with str more?!
Carnage is more initial damage, there’s no guarantee strength will come later.
I guess exhaust synergy is just better in the later game with the next few combats solved on both picks but who knows, twin strike probably an alright pick

Apart from what folks said above, there is a reason why Carnage is uncommon & Twin Strike is common.
Thanks for the vids!
Damn your relics in act 1 is so fcking good
I've played 1400 hours of Slay now and I've still never gotten the "good face".
Cancel Baalor he is a bully
It was truly a vile and disgusting act. He just sat there unfazed as he slowly beat this book into smithereens.
Things that only pure evil is capable of carrying out
RIP Book of Stabbing...but zero sympathy
