I watched a video of the kid from England, i believe, play a lap steel guitar. I enjoyed it so much (I'm 65), that i want a lap steel guitar. I never played before but have always enjoyed listening to others play them that i must buy one. I started playing electric violin in April 2024, so what the hell, lets do this. I am going to buy a Gretch G5700 from Sweetwater (unless you have any other recommendations). The Gretch is listed at $379 or so. I was considering a Duesenberg Nashville for $2,945 but that is a little steep. I have an awesome music studio with lots of keyboards, guitars, latin percussion, my violin, and other asorted goodies. I am 65, i could die tomorrow though I'm not planning on it. However, I have been watching tons of videos and am very impressed by your playing. You are the best i have ever seen. You are awesome.
Nice one Matt....what about the tone of the stone? Each facet on the tonal change and the combinations you choose is what creates your sonic signature...Make it so!!!!
Epic video! Loving it! Perfect explanation why one needs different tools for different jobs. When there is a need for a sound you have in your head, tailored tool is the best solution. Agreed everything matters. In my experience changing so many parts and instruments and pedals and nuts and tuners and necks and frets everything matters. It might not matter to people that use like few noise gates just to keep their extreme gain levels tamed and have setups that make every instrument sound the same. But if you have nice rig everything will have it's own tone. That's what is a great about tone chasing. Getting inspired by gear is valid point, especially if it results in beautiful art.
Just woke up this morning and am going to lift weights. At 65 years old, I need to be super charged with caffeine, aspirin, and Kratom! You blow my mind how awesome you are. And you make great looking laptops.
Greetings from Austria in good old Europe. Matt, you and Troy brought me in to learn a little play and have fun on Lapsteel and iam always happy when you put a new video on yt. With the age of 54 now i found my Instrument of choice and freedom to play sounds i before only had in my head. Thank you very much and see you next time on yt. Sorry my broken english.
Don't worry too much about the state of your English. That just shows that you know at least two languages, which is one more than most of us English speakers know.
@@judsonbertoch7928 when I worked for Bill, we were still making the junior as a low-cost American style guitar. At the time we were using Seymour Duncan pickups mainly, and they sounded great. I have different preferences on pick ups for myself now, but I’m certain Bill can put in whatever you want. At the end of the day,a good set of pick ups is a good set of pick ups, and then you work with what you got. I have a big video about pick ups, and the reality is they all sound good and they all have their own uses.
They clearly sound different to me. Some people don't clean their ears enough. Joke! Whaat is the difference between ear cheese and toe cheese? Answer ! Location.

Great to hear! And don’t apologize! You’re crushing it!

That reverb tank looks awesome!!
I love it!
When you were working for Bill: Did you ever have a definite favorite B/N set for Hawaiian Jr?

@@MattBradfordmusic Oh, was just curious. I have H jr with the upgrades. Not going on a pickup journey (like fuzz pedals or overdrive pedals)....
