  • In this video I react to Led Zeppelin Since I've been loving you at Madison square garden.
Originally, I reacted to the knebworth performance in 1979 and so many of you had requested that I look at the MSG. This performance was definitel top tier. I really enjoyed Robert's voice and Jimmy Page was on top of his guitar playing abilities.
Leave your request for more Zeppelin

That performance is part of a awesome feature length film called the song remains the same. It’s a concert film mixed in with a bit of behind the seans stuff but also cut with little short trippy abstract films one for each band member and the manager. The films kind of reflect there personalities and passions. You get stuff like Bonham racing cars, the manager as a monster killing gangster, plant as heroic knight. All while zeppelin music plays over it. It was basically some of the first music videos intercut with the Madison square garden concert. Way ahead of it’s time. It’s awesome!

Absolutely love watching the younger generations listen to this masterpiece! Love the reactions Every. Single. Time. Never disappoints. These four Gods of Rock show why they’re the greatest who ever took stage. All four of these men KNOW it. I’m so glad to hear you point out Bonzo on the drums. Any drummer will tell you that his performance here is extremely difficult and drives the front men to do what they do best. Without this level of play, the song wouldn’t have been on the other-worldly level it was on. JPJ on keys? Same thing. Keeping the melodies the way he does is not easy when there is so much improvisation going on. Great reaction to a great performance! 😃

This is actually an amazingly proficient jazz-blues group. They play off of each other. Plant is an improvising jazz vocalist--and he's playing off of as well as singing with the rest of the group. In this song they have a very open and improvisatory structure. Really genius. Each musician is SO good. But they hang together--and serve the mood and theme of song as a unit. With great originality and feeling.

I have always said.CRITICS BE DAMNED! The now even better improved mix and re mastered plus extra songs version of 'T.S.R.T.S.' from 1973's concerts show Led Zeppelin at their prime and very best. It is their musical peak; shape wise and energetically. Before this time they were evolving, after this, rotting. From the excess of success and rock lifestyle bs they lost their health and focus and became addicts (not JPJ and Plant was more careful too). Before, hungry, always on the road playing 100+ tours, getting more complex and sharper. Afterwards the 70's rock syndrome that made us punk rockers out of anger at the waste and boredom of the mediocre mid 70's took over. For me who lived in both NYC and the UK, England was a horror of boring prog, cheap glam and disco. I was only into the still evolving Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Eno while the US had Neil Young, the Grateful Dead and best of all Parliament Funkadelic. I went from a Zep head to punk and Reggae. It was later Slayer's groovy punk metal on their epic first five LP's (the first to do that since Zeppelin and Sabbath for me). Watch 'Still Reigning+ video. They same intense tight looseness and power.
Top 4 bands for me. *The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Parliament Funkadelic* and *The Beatles* Best musician? *Jimi Hendrix,* Singers *Jim Morrison* and *kd Lang.*

The Madison Square Garden performances were filmed for their movie, so they are more superior, not that they ever tried giving a bad performance. They were really in their prime at this time, this song & performance is my absolute favorite live, so much soul & passion. If you haven’t seen it, I suggest watching their movie when you’re done with your LZ journey. I saw it decades ago when it came out, & just watched it again last week. It’s called The Song Remains The Same, I think you’ll really enjoy it, on RUclips buy rent or free with ads.

For this 1973 MSG show, they recorded the entire concert and all band members chose a song for their own "fantasy sequence" Robert Plant chose the Song Remains the Same/the Rain Song, John Paul Jones chose No Quarter, Jimmy Page chose Dazed and Confused (which is 30 minutes long 😂) and John Bonham chose his drum solo, Moby Dick. All these are from the same concert in 73

I would love a streaming of Led Zeppelin! Don't forget to record the stream as well and put it on Google drive or Wetransfer for example :) you should check out their performance at the Royal Albert hall, how many more times is incredible!

Zeppelin was a influence on the King of Pop during the 70's. In a Tiger Beat article Latoya was answering questions to some of the girls questions on what Michael liked and she said Michael liked playing basketball, and mentioned what his favorite food was. Also, he liked Led Zeppelin.

New subscriber here. Love all the Zeppelin. That performance of Since I've Been Loving You is by far the best I have ever seen. Love the whole album. Would love to see you do No Quarter or Whole Lotta Love from that MSG show.
