Mark's description of Jesus going into the wilderness -- He did not "lead" Him. The word was ekballō. He "cast Him out" into the wilderness.
What’s the Hebrew word you were alluding to that Means fertilize? How are you linking the Hebrew word rahap to fertilize? Can you please comment where you got the explanation as a vibrating shaking? What Hebrew verb are you using? How are you linking Rahap to violent shaking? The blue letter Bible explains the Hebrew word “moving” from Genesis 1:2 As a gentle, hovering like a brooding not a vibrating shaking… there’s a peace and gentleness to it opposite of what you are explaining
Hi Laura
‘rahap’ is used in Genesis 1:2 and is translated ‘moving’, however, it is also used in Jer. 23:9. in and here it means, according to Strong’s, ‘with fear, tremor, hence to tremble (spoken of the bones of a person terrified)
777 [" pr. TO BE SOFT"], TO BE MOVED, AF- FECTED (cogn. to n7), specially -(a) with the
feeling of tender love, hence to cherish, see Piel.- (b) with fear, tremor, hence to tremble (spoken of
the bones of a person terrified), Jer. 23:9. Pier, to brood over young ones, to cherish young (as an eagle), Deut. 32:11; figuratively used of the Spirit of God, who brooded over the shapeless mass of the earth, cherishing and vivifying. Of far more frequent use is the Syr. ous, which is used of birds brooding over their young, Ephr. ii. p. 552; of pa- rents who cherish their children, Ephr. ii. p. 419; of Elisha cherishing the body of the dead child, Ephr. i. p. 529; also of a voice descending from
heaven.
The Arabs use in the same sense the verb no, I. IV. to brood on eggs (as a hen); to soothe a
child (as a mother), Gen. 1:2.

Exactly! That’s exactly what I looked up and read. It has nothing to do with fertilize which was my original question. He talked about violent vibrating. This is found nowhere in the explanation that both you and I are referencing I just want to study and wanted to hear where he’s getting his information because it is not consistent with what we looked at.
Thanks for the reply, Laura. I couldn’t get to the bottom of the ‘fertilising’ element. I just wonder if he’s thinking about the Holy Spirit ‘brooding’ over the chaotic waters, as a hen broods over chicks and somehow imagines this fertilises the eggs. Bit of a stretch on my part.
As for the violent shaking, think how the movement of the Holy Spirit is reported in the Acts of the Apostles. Buildings were shaken!
I have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit so violently that I almost jackknifed in half. Powerful. Beautiful. What do you imagine might happen when the power that raised Jesus from the dead comes into contact with human flesh? I have had to ask the Lord to stay His hand, fearing I would be broken into a million pieces. Graciously, He did. I often wish I had seen what would have happened if I had not asked. Do you imagine that I emerged from those experiences with a lower or higher degree of reverence for the King of the Universe, the Ancient of Days?
