The Indians actually have written records of those earlier periods of Khmer history. I've asked an Indian guy who had commented on the "Devaraja" music video, and he replied back, giving very informative and detailed informations. I was quite impressed to know that all of the names of places and historical figures were recorded in their original Sanskrit names, in all entirety. Khmer and international historians need to start looking into those historical records that still exists in India, and not just Chinese sources. Truth of the matter: The more sources to draw upon, the better.
The Chinese couldn't grasped the Sanskrit language, so they would rendered Chinese names for places and historical figures; it's something closed to the original meaning. I don't think it's hard to figure the original Sanskrit names. A linguist or scholar that knows both languages, might be able to figure it out. For example: Liu Yi means "moon" in Chinese, from the original Sanskrit Soma (moon/lunar). Khmer people should refrain from calling historical figures and places by the Chinese names - it's not correct. Ancient Khmer people did not speak Chinese and have Chinese names; they spoke Khmer and Sanskrit. I truly believe - that there are records and inscriptions somewhere, that are yet to be found. ✨
For a race who didn't possessed a written language, until so much later...those vulture Siems sure had a very keen, detailed, and accurate 'record keeping.' Claims are useless, especially in the absent of tangible evidence to back up and support such claims.
