How do you close the battery cover with the battery cables sticking out in the way? The cover doesn’t have holes for the battery cables to travel through.
The top has cable ways molded into it so the cables come off the battery and then through the cable ways. We have since moved them off the tongue, replaced with lithium and mounted in the rear slide out trunk in this model.
Nice video! I just purchased a 2020 2506S. I will be using mine for while away on a job. I’ll be setting it up at the RV park on August 1st, but won’t be staying regularly until August 15th. I plan to pull the slide in while away and not occupied. Will the AC keep it cool with the slide in? Also, would you recommended leaving AC on auto or high setting?
We store our RV at the house and plugged into shore power. We leave the AC set at 88 on Auto mode to combat the Florida heat and humidity. This is sufficient. With the slide in we do open the two side windows in the slide and all doors open to further air circulation. Thanks for watching and safe travels!
@@ALNTV1541 We set the temp at 88 and the fan is set to auto so the temp triggers the AC coming on. We have a digital thermostat which makes it easier. We did a couple of videos on this worthy upgrade if it is something you are considering.
Interesting that you can safely tow that with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Didn't think they had that kind of payload capacity. Liked your review of the 2506s Mini. We are looking at a 2021 model now.
Thanks for watching. We did it with a lot of weight management for sure. We now tow with an F250 diesel. Once extreme to the other! We have nearly 20K miles on out Mini Lite and still love it.
Thanks for sharing your experience with this RV, The wife and I looked at a 2021 2506 rockwood last week and my wife was blown away at the modern conveinences. She wanted to buy it right away !! I will keep watching your Vid's thanks, Che from NY
We ordered a Rockwood Mini lite 2506S because of your video! I was looking for what i could tow behind a Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with the V8 HEMI and saw your Jeep and then looked up the camper trailer and loved it. I am still a little apprehensive about the Jeep but I did not want to change it for a truck, plus we need the back for the pups. A lot of people on the forums tell you you need a massive truck but I pull a 22ft boat trailer thru the Rockies and the Jeep just pulls that with no effort what so ever.
Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching! Leave any questions or comments about your journey to find an RV in the comment section. Happy Adventures!
We bought a 2019 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BRDS. Hope everyone knows that the Flagstaffs and Rockwood are made in the same exact factory just different names on the outside. Do not think there is any quality difference between the two. We talked a lot and had a possibility of having some nieces and nephews come camping with us. Since then we have not had any takers. We felt that the floor plan was nice for a family but the bunks took up a lot of extra space. We found the 2506S or the 25FKS depending on if you choose Flagstaff or Rockwood. We really liked the layout. We just ordered a 2021 version. Agree there are always some options that you like on older or newer campers. We loved the outdoor kitchen on the 25BRDS and was a must which helped us choose the 2506S. We chose the U Dinette. We will see how we like the dinette read comments and good to know that it is not hard to swap out if we want to switch it around later on.
Hi Amy, we are glad you watched our videos. Campers/RVs are an exercise in compromise for certain. I think with the dinette you get little more outside storage under the dinette bench. Outside storage is at a premium in smaller RVs. Good luck and Happy Adventures! We hope to hit the road soon ourselves.
Hey there, great review on a great travel trailer! We love our 2018 2506S. I'm glad we got the 2018 as there are some changes in the 2019 and up models that we don't care for.
I really appreciate your showing and telling about your Jeep and RV combo. It’s just what I wanted to know. I’ve found a couple other Lite models that I think a GC could tow, especially the 7200# models. What would you say about these models? Grand Design Xplor 221RB & the Heartland Sundance Ultra-lite 262RB are two that have the additional feature of the sofa facing the entertainment center.
Thanks for watching the videos. The GC is an awesome SUV and tows pretty well. I do feel that our trailer at about 5800#s loaded is the max for the Jeep. The V8 GC does give you 7200# towing when equipped right. 2 things I did not cover well in the video and should have is that the wheel base on the GC is relatively short and it does not have good mirrors for towing large trailers. The universal mirrors I have found are marginal at best. When towing near max with the Jeep it is best if you have a lot of experience towing large trailers. We have to be very careful with how we load the trailer. If the tongue weight gets too high or too low, it really can mess with the "balance" of the rig and towing can get "spirited". I would suggest at least a half-ton pick up truck if you are also looking for a tow vehicle. Good luck and those are nice trailers!
@@OurCoupledAdventure Thanks for the reply. One thing I’m looking at is just the fact that once you’ve arrived at a destination the GC is a lot like driving a car. I liked the one I rented quite a bit for that. A pickup means you’re buying a vehicle “for” towing, not driving. So for me it’s a question of how far I will tow before I go back to just driving a vehicle in my new location. Given that perspective, would you still recommend choosing a pickup over your Jeep, say to tow your current RV?
@@snorkfire IF I had to do it again with the SAME size trailer, I would seriously consider at least a 1/2 ton pick up. When towing near the top of the capacity with ANY vehicle, from a mini pick up to a one ton dually, it will be hard on it and lessen any margins of safety. The GC is an awesome SUV, but has its limits, like any vehicle. Pick ups nowadays drive like cars, and if you get a short bed they are not too challenging to park, etc. You would be surprised how much proper sized"towing" mirrors add to the safety of towing, and the Jeep is sorely lacking here when towing larger trailers. There are limited after-market options that quite frankly suck!
Hey nice video. Nice trailer, I just got one but I haven't picked it up yet. I think it has a 13500 btu ac. What size ac do you have and does it keep you cool in your bedroom?

Great video, always nice to see a true owner review. We have been shopping around and I always seem to come back to the Rockwood. The one question/concern I have is how the cross air flow is with the frame less windows compared to the more traditional slide windows, do they heavily depend upon the maxair fan?
Barry Reynolds Hi Barry. Thanks for watching. The frameless windows look great. I say yes they do allow more airflow with the fan on especially on days with no or little breeze. Our slide out end windows are the typical slide up windows which help airflow.
Just found you both...your AWESOME honest and REAL...love it... We have also been looking now you our next trailer for 2 years... Question 3 season 4...is the underbelly insulated ?? Did you put the couch reclines after market??? Thanks Christina
Glad you stopped by to watch! The underbelly is enclosed, but not insulated or heated. The theater seats are from the factory and we had them swapped in during the negotiations. You can also by aftermarket ones.
I shopped around for 2 years. I don't think there was a manufacturer or model floor plan I didn't look at. I decided on the 2506s for the floor plan and the rockwood for the quality and features. After looking at the 2018, 19, and 20 models I decided on the 18 model cause of the outdoor kitchen, and wrap around kitchen design. Also the 18 model came with the metal create trey behind the bottles on the tong. This feature is one that is a must and is missing on the 19 and 20 models😥
Congrats on your purchase. We have been very happy with our 2506s. Very few issues, and they have been very minor. It is a great floor plan for its size. Thanks for watching! Happy travels!
Hello, and we enjoy the videos; question; can you address the trailer ride quality and your opinions of the torsion axles. Also does the independent suspension tend to jerk the tow vehicle ?
Hello and thanks for watching! We are very happy with the torsion axles on our trailer. The ride is much softer than springs. Because of this, stuff in the trailer does not get tossed around. Also, when bumps are encounter on one side the jolt is absorbed and not transferred to the opposite side as noticeably as springs. We do not notice any adverse affect on the tow vehicle that can be attributed to the torsion system! Happy adventures!
Just bought a 2021 Minilite 2506S. Ours came with the upgrade theater seating; but now we are looking into having a sofa sleeper so we can have our adult daughter join us at times. Do you know if it’s possible to revert and get the dogs instead? And if so; where would you suggest we go to switch it out or buy the sofa?
Hey John. Its furniture and is usually secured to the floor with L brackets. The swap out is easy. You will have to take out the theater seats in parts and do the same with the sofa couch when you put it in. RV specific furniture tends to be lighter and there are a number of places to get it. You can start with a local dealer, camping worlds, etc. I hear folks use Ikea furniture because it is small and can be lighter. The weight is the issue. Safe travels and enjoy the journey.
I enjoy your sharing so much. I am so green that i looked at what you bought and said well if it works for him. I never expected to have to buy so much . NOT prepared for that. Sold sticks and bricks and so for the last 2 weeks have made Amazon my new best friend. It has been 30 years since i drove a hitch trailer. Have driven motor homes but I am a bit neverous and not ashamed to admit it, any advice in pulling this RV on the road. The thing that makes my throat drop to my stomach is i am disabled and have to drive my truck with hand controls. I have asked around everywhere i can find but no one can give advice. So With God as my pilot I figure it can be done. Keep those videos coming I am always searching your area for new tips.
My advise, just do it. Take your time and it will come back to you. Keep that tongue weight at 10 percent and the trailer will behave a lot better. What type of truck ? What model Rockwood? Don't skimp on the weight distribution hitch. I had to laugh at your comment about Amazon. When we first started I swear the vans drove themselves to the house!. If we can be of any help just ask. We will be putting out some videos in the near future I think you would like. Safe travels and adventures!
@@OurCoupledAdventure we have a 2016 chevy colorado and the rv is a 2020 ultralite 2056s with 🎥 seats. One bedroom nice rv but bigger in size than i thought. I nust go the shock of my week finding out that the rates for staying over night at a full hook up park is 24.00 to 41.00 a night. We were going to stay at one park until the asking price was 33.00 a night x 30 plus electric. So do most people boone dock or just independently wealthy man are we in trouble. I may have started praying to late lol
Usually most affordable places to stay are county and state parks. If you are out west your have the Corp. of Engineers land to boondocks, etc. Who makes your trailer? What is the empty weight? Your Colorado is similar in numbers to our Grand Cherokee. Just be careful with payload and the tongue weight of the trailer. Mostwill say RVing is not done to save money, but to live a life style. You will enjoy it!
Very informative honest review. Great tips and ideas. Wife & I had the same dealer breaker a totally separate bedroom with a solid door. Happy Camping. :)
Hi and thanks for watching. Great question. The 2506s and the 25fks lack of a pass thru has not been a problem for us. The 2506/25fks seems to have just the right amount of outside storage for the necessities. The trunk tray is a big help. Our awning mat came in a bag and is very light. It fits perfectly in the outside kitchen. We do not carry a canopy right now because of the limited storage and our tow vehicle limitations. We have not missed having a canopy, but when we move to a 3/4 ton pick up with a cap we may consider carrying one. If we had a trip that we felt it would be beneficial to bring a canopy, I would just put it in the trailer during travel.
Very nice choice ,what is your cherokee rated for towing and also what speed do you tow on the interstate ?I just would like to know if it handles the weight with a full fresh water tank? thank you
Yeah, it really is as close to "perfect" as you can get for a couples coach. We have more videos in store such as mods and updates (a few already published) as well a a lithium battery upgrade and at some point a new tow vehicle. Thanks for watching.
As always i have enjoyed all your shows but i am asking now about a subject that i have not found much on. my 2020 rockwood mini lite 2506scame with one battery. i have no idea if i need twon and if i boondock which we will im sure how do i know that one battery will work. i realize that runs lights tv etc. but please help if you can should i have two batterys , i hear that some batteries are big money. can you help me geo.
I am a believer in that if you are going to do some serious boon docking, you will need more than one battery. Unfortunately simply going to 2 lead-acid batteries is not much help because of the depth of discharge limits. And lead-acid is heavy. Current technology means Lithium. You get the same capacity from 1-100 amp lithium as you do from 2 lead-acid. And the weight savings with Lithium. 1 lead acid weighs what 2 lithium weigh. If you are a campground camper with hook ups then 1 battery is fine. This is a complex subject and there is a lot of info out there. Check out Will Prowse on YT for solar/battery info. We plan on adding solar and lithium during the winter. Safe Adventures Geo.
On your chairs is it power reclining? If not do you find when reclining all the way back and staying in that position? Just wondering how easy it would be for a person to sleep in them. Thanks for this video.

Great video. That’ being said how much does your trailer weigh? Looks like close to the 5000lb range. I have a grand Cherokee like yours and I was told my max tow is 5000lbs. Is yours a V8? I’m searching currently and I line the mini lite but I stayed away because of the weight.
Thanks for watching! The loaded travel weight is closer to 6000#. My v6 Jeep is rated for 6200#. We did a video on the Jeep that may be helpful. Towing at or near max tow capacity can be tricky and hard on the tow vehicle over the long haul. The Jeep video answers questions about it. A significant limitation of the jeep is a 620 # tongue weight which we have to monitor closely as well as the small mirrors. As far as the Mini Lite, it is an awesome RV trailer and we love ours.
Hi, Thanks for watching. We do not use the factory grill (it's still in the box) we keep it in the garage, haha. When we travel we take a Weber Q and store it in a large Rubbermaid tub with other grilling gear, and put that in the truck. 🍗🍔😊
We are not set up for 4 season. Our RV did not come with the optional tank heaters. Not sure if I would consider our MinLite as true 4 season even if it had tank heaters.
Love this video! Liked it so much we have been looking at this exact same model. Love the separate bedroom, would work perfect for our needs. We are a little discouraged in that the dealership tells us that in order to get the theatre seats it would be an additional $1,7000 because it would be a " special order " . They suggested we just take out the dinette and go to a furniture store and buy one to put in. Did yours come with the seats or was it special order?
High Rhonda. Thanks for watching. Ours came with a sofa. We added the theater seats in the negotiated deal. The theater seats arrived 6 weeks later and they installed them. The sofa now resides in our sitting room. Their solution is a common one that a lot of folks do. There is some labor involved with dismantling the dinette. Are there other Rockwood dealers in a reasonable driving distance? The $1700 is a touch high, but the dealer should be discounting the trailer 20-30 % off MSRP.
Our Coupled Adventure Thank you so much for your reply ! I have another question did you replace your mattress with a true queen which is 60 x 80 ? I see the standard mattress that comes with the coach is 60x74. Also is watching the TV at an angle an issue ?
@@rhondapowers8711 Hi, We found the factory bed to be comfortable enough, but slightly firm. We added an egg-crate foam topper...problem solved. We are of average height so the longer queen is not necessary. We actually like the heated mattress. As far as the TV angle, not a big problem. Some people add a swing arm, but this can interfere with the slide out when it opens/closes.
Our Coupled Adventure Thank you so much. Your feed back has been extremely helpful ! Any downsides of it?
@@rhondapowers8711I will start off by saying the Rockwood brand, in our opinion and experience, is probably a better RV than most. As far as the kitchen, funny you mention that. Initially my thoughts were, "Yeah, right that's a waste of space and weight..." Then we discovered the ease and benefits of cooking outside. So, if it ain't raining we are cooking outside. Excellent review, we are currently considering this rv i am curious do you find it uncomfortable to have to turn your head to watch tv ? This was very helpful thankyou
Hi Kim, and thanks for watching! We do not find the angle uncomfortable. The TV is mounted to angle toward the theater seats. In the 2020's I believe they have put the TV on an adjustable bracket to bring it out more if you want. Good luck on your RV search and safe adventures!
ok, hold on I need some more info on those fine theater seats. Like brand or possibly link????? That would make a camper fantastic. Was it tricky getting them inside? P,S. the music background sucks.
There is not a label anywhere on the seats. It is a factory option and was ordered by the dealer straight from the factory. They were easy to put in because they are in 3 pieces. 2 chairs and a center console. These particular seats do require 110 power to plug to power the heat, massager and cup light. Thanks for watching.
Hi Dan and Roseli, Thanks for watching.😊 You are correct. We do not have the dinette but we do have pop in side tables for each theater chair. They are tiny but work. Otherwise we tend to eat on the picnic tables outside. Oh-we also purchased inexpensive folding laptop/TV tray type tables from Walmart. The theater seating provides multiple cup holders, so it's mainly the food plates that need a parking spot, haha. We absolutely do not regret not having the dinette!😍

Thanks for sharing!
Considering the 2506s or Flagstaff 25fks.. Do you miss not having pass through storage? Where do you keep things like an awning mat and ez up canopy?
Where did you find the recliners?
Jason, Thanks for watching. The recliners were from the RV dealer. It is an RV specific Theater seating set up.
Love the trailer. Particularly enjoyed her concise and Informative presentation.....
Thanks Bob. We have found this trailer to be as close to perfect as we could get. The initial quality was above all the rest we looked.
Very nice choice ,what is your cherokee rated for towing and also what speed do you tow on the interstate ?I just would like to know if it handles the weight with a full fresh water tank? thank you
Hi honest D. Thanks for watching. We did a video on the GC. In short, full freshwater puts us over the 6200# limit of the CG. 61-63mph.
Great floor plan for a couple.
Hi Brad. The chairs will stay open, and I have slept in them. Really comfortable if you are a back sleeper!. Not powered, but heated & massage!
Thanks for watching!!!
we have a 2019.5 Mini Lite 2506s. My question is what sizes of bug screens did you get for your water heater door.
Hello Carol. Thanks for watching! Congrats on your purchase of a nice RV. We have been very happy with ours! I will included the link for the kit like we used to cover all vents associated with a propane using appliances. Please take a moment and subscribe and watch our other videos. If you already have, THANK YOU! www.amazon.com/gp/slredirect/picassoRedirect.html/ref=pa_sp_mtf_aps_sr_pg1_1?ie=UTF8&adId=A07029333VLD1LZVF7Z8F&url=%2FFurnaces-Screen-Heater-Refrigerator-Screen-Refrigerator%2Fdp%2FB07S4GM6TJ%2Fref%3Dsr_1_21_sspa%3Fcrid%3D1BMXQU7ZGXRKX%26keywords%3Dbug%2Bscreens%2Bfor%2Brv%2Bvent%26qid%3D1582720563%26sprefix%3Dbug%2Bscreens%252Caps%252C168%26sr%3D8-21-spons%26psc%3D1&qualifier=1582720563&id=3442458029879233&widgetName=sp_mtf
Tell us about your Jeep. What year and model. Do you recommend it for pulling the trailer? Any problems?
Hi Kim. Thanks for watching. We have a 2015 Grand Cherokee V6 and also did a video review of the Jeep that has a ton of info about towing with it.
Music was too loud for me distracting and not really necessary but thank you for the vid I appreciate the candid review!!
Thanks for watching. We do appreciate it. Making videos for the average Joe is challenging. Thanks for the feedback!
Awesome, love the video. We also have a Rockwood and like it so far. Glad we found your channel!
Awesome! Thanks for taking time to watch the video. We love our Rockwood and it has been pretty much problem free!
Thank you so much, I love this video.
Thanks Meegan. A lot of work goes into a video and it is very nice to hear somebody enjoys it.
Why is music playing
Thanks for watching. We like music! Happy Adventures.
I cannot find where the plug is on the heated mattress
Hi, The plug is at the head of the mattress, in the center, and then you plug the cord into the outlet on the left bedside. Do you have the cord?🤔
Also what do you tow her with???
We currently use a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We put out a video about towing with the Jeep. Thanks for watching.
My rockwood is 30amp do i need to carry a 50amp adapter to 30 amp
I strongly suggest it. Cheap enough, may not use much, but that one time the only site left is a 50 amp, you will be glad! Thanks for watching!
Did you have your hitch professionally installed? And does Grand Cherokee have the 3.6 or 5.7 engine?
The hitch on the Jeep is dealer installed OEM. This is the Limited with the 8 speed transmission and the 3.6 and is a 4 x 2. Thanks for watching.
We just put out a video about towing the the Grand Cherokee. Hope it helps.
I am in on the ground floor, as one of the first 100 subscribers.
Yes you are and it is really appreciated!!!
So, if I understood you right, you opted for the chairs instead of the dinette, right? So where do you eat your meals?
Where do store your outside grill ??
Hi, Thanks for watching. We do not use the factory grill (it's still in the box) we keep it in the garage, haha. When we travel we take a Weber Q and store it in a large Rubbermaid tub with other grilling gear, and put that in the truck. 🍗🍔😊
Did you buy new?
Yes. Thanks for watching. We hope to get more videos out once we start RVing again.
Is your mini lite 4 season?
My husband and I just like you and your wife have been looking and looking , we keep coming back to the Rockwoood mini lite. I love the idea of the outdoor kitchen, do you find you use it a lot ? Any downsides of it?
@@rhondapowers8711I will start off by saying the Rockwood brand, in our opinion and experience, is probably a better RV than most. As far as the kitchen, funny you mention that. Initially my thoughts were, "Yeah, right that's a waste of space and weight..." Then we discovered the ease and benefits of cooking outside. So, if it ain't raining we are cooking outside. We are more than happy to answer any questions you guys may have. Watch for our next video which will discuss an important topic for all RV owners, especially new ones! Thanks for watching.
Great review. Could listen to you talk all day lol
ok, hold on I need some more info on those fine theater seats.
You can draw really fast.
HaHaaaaaaa...I can barely write my name at times.
Oh my gosh, it's like listening to an infomercial. You spend half of the video talking about what your going to say. Please, just say it!
Thanks for watching Chuck. Happy Adventures!
Pointless chat the whole first half of the video. Very frustrating.
Thanks for watching!
So, if I understood you right, you opted for the chairs instead of the dinette, right? So where do you eat your meals?
Hi Dan and Roseli, Thanks for watching.😊 You are correct. We do not have the dinette but we do have pop in side tables for each theater chair. They are tiny but work. Otherwise we tend to eat on the picnic tables outside. Oh-we also purchased inexpensive folding laptop/TV tray type tables from Walmart. The theater seating provides multiple cup holders, so it's mainly the food plates that need a parking spot, haha. We absolutely do not regret not having the dinette!😍
@@OurCoupledAdventure We agree 110%! The only thing I wish we had was the theater seating instead of the dinette in our 2018 2506S
