- We found some really cool details you probably missed in the Inside Out 2 trailer. The latest trailer just dropped, and it's packed with hidden gems! Remember the memory base from the first movie? It was a key part of Riley's mind control center, and in the sequel, it looks like it's getting a tech upgrade. But did you catch the scene where Anxiety rips out the central piece of the memory support? After that, if you look closely, you’ll notice several scenes where the memory support appears behind the characters completely broken. This happens right at the start of the movie, soon after Anxiety and the new emotions take over and lock up the old emotions. It seems like the villain might do this to erase the old memories and create new ones, believing that the past isn’t important and only the future matters. The big question is: What will this do to Riley’s mind? Will she lose all her happy and sad memories forever?

I think the reason why anxiety is doing is because she’s anxious about Riley’s future hence anxiety

This is such an intelligently written plot element in the movie because it has been proven that intense amounts of anxiety and depression for long enough periods have been known to cause memory loss and even as much as entire events being blacked out. A close friend has had a traumatic experience that she barely can recall the details of but it has left a lasting mark on her mind forever.

It’s also not always permanent, I’ve had old traumas only finally come up in my adult life because I had finally enough safety that my brain felt comfortable, I’ve also had rough (months long) memory lapses due to depression and anxiety episodes, but I do later on gain a lot of those back even if they’re hazy. But there are definitely events that I know happened and I have proof of but I can’t remember them at all
Its not for long period of time tho. I think the memory got lost more so because she feel the need to be someone else than her former self to fit in

The new one you’re talking about is Joy sending memories to the back of the mind, or subconscious. The other memories still go to long term/short term via the same route as the original movie! 🫶🏼
I love how Disney actually a got several therapists to work on Inside Out 2 to ensure they captured each emotion and effect it has perfectly

The ripped thingy too is orange. I guess Anxiety managed or tried to put anxious normal memories, like Fear in 1, in place of the base memories. Or we see in one trailer that when Joy touches the strings it echos with happy thoughts, so maybe they try to affect Riley that way and Anxiety rips it off.

@@playthroughmedianot all the memories they use for Riley’s sense of self are core, if any at all. They’re regular memories. Core memories go straight to the compartment in the back to make a personality island (in case you forgot).

I'm sure Riley is a good person and so is Anxiety, she's not evil, she tries to do everything for Riley
And doesn't know how to do that so she's throwing the emotions out to try

Ngl Anxiety was my favorite character in the whole movie. Being very energetic thinking at 100 billion times a second, actually being the damn Flash in that one scene! Anxiety tried to think about every possible thing that could happen at any moment. And it makes so much fricking sense! This movie had me crying by the end of it because I related to it so much!
Absolutely felt. Maybe not the favorite, I’d went on record with friends saying she deserves to bite the curb in 4k, but I do appreciate the Flash scene. Thought it was insanely cool 😂

In the movie anxiety shows all the possibilities that could upset riley and then goes and makes sure it dosent happen, the movie was very emotionally realistic
SPOILER ⚠️ One of my favorite details is close to the end of the movie. It’s when the tube was destroyed and Joys is hopeless, you can see her hands shaking. It’s not super noticeable but a cool detail that I relate to a little too much. 😢😅

Saw the movie. It's more about beliefs and what makes you the person you are and how your memories can affect that. Yes anxiety roles is more of how she wants to protect Reilly in her own way even if it's hurting her

Those 2 things are formed from beliefs and form Riley.

Just watched the movie, explaination WITH SPOILERS below.
The squiggly blue thing is Riley’s sense of self and is what she thinks about herself. Anxiety is very much a villain here and tries her best to get rid of this old sense of self, and tries to create a new one - only for the new one to believe “it’s not good enough”.
Fun fact: in real life, prolonged or frequent experience of anxiety can actually correlate to memory loss and forgetfulness.

Not really, she had a panic attack at the end and joy calms her down
I went through the worst case of MS (multiple sclerosis) and the inside out brain is very insufficient to what I went through and am still going through. My brain is in a constant destroy and perhaps remember a couple of things. It is torture but it's something that I can survive with ^^

Anxiety is a hard thing to control for a teenager as we see Riley struggle to control it and it's the same as the other new emotions but it didn't come with just only downsides, it has benefits too. So we must adjust and hope for the best outcome.
Anxiety didn't jack her memories. That's called her sense of self, her personality if you will. She didn't forget anything, she just her personality, and who she was.

I watched the movie this weekend with my sister and her son. It was great. I feel like they represented anxiety really well in the movie although it's not as easy to fix as the movie showed lol but it was great.

Funny enough this is exactly what im going through, i find it hard to remember things especially things i enjoy or can really attach emotions to and i seem to “forget” my favorite thing which is making characters and aus and stuff and all the mystical things i usually do, i know i remember those things its just that they are being pushed way back into the back of my mind. This is because of my anxiety and depression, im basically going through what riley goes through in the new movie. Its like only anxiety and sadness are there and honestly sadness seems to be going slighty as well just like in the movie only anxiety is controlling my mind and when its not anxiety coursing through me im just blank not really even bored just existing…. Unless my anxiety pushes me to the point of extreme sadness. And i hate it! Thats why i started my medicine and now im going to try to up my dosage since ive been doing the lowest amount and of course im going to my usual therapy appointments! I do feel somewhat better sometimes but mostly I do some of the things i usually do but i mostly avoid doing the things i love because they dont make me feel happy or im scared… I HATE THIS AHHHHGFHFHUCUZISHS
