I owned the Special Edition boat (35' Jaguar) @ 6:28. However when I bought it(roughly 2010), It had no engines or drives. Converted it to a pleaseure boat. Ran 100mph with 2 650h.p. engines. Bummer I cant post a pic of when It was finished. You would not even think it was the same boat. Thanks for sharing!!!

I remember this race, mega rough. Friends of my dad raced in this a boat called Double Cross, it was husband and wife. I remember their forearms were completely black and blue bruised…These boats raced Bay City/Saginaw Bay before this race.

Quad engine cats should have been outlawed or put in their own class all together. Great racing back in those days.

It’s called a skip stuff. The stern hits and brings the bow down hard and fast. Notched transoms helped fix this problem.

Great to see this old footage. I grew up a Fountain fan as my grandparents lived just a few miles down the Pamlico River from the Fountain factory. But I always pulled for Don Johnson in Team USA when those races were on. Pretty cool to see Team Victory way back when. And I assume at this point Team INXS was running Apache? I know they switched to Fountain later on.

I was on my Uncles boat that day watching live. The rollers were devastating that day. A few people got sea sick. Absolutely awesome race to watch.

I believe at one point that was Ben Kramer’s business…. According to this I found …. Friday afternoon, federal agents swarmed into Kramer's Fort Apache Marina, 3025 NE 188th St., sealing it off until they can determine who owns the nearly 200 boats stored there. Kramer's property will be seized under a sealed warrant issued Friday. Agents also seized the property at Fort Apache Marine, at 2800 N. 30th Ave., Hollywood, a boat repair facility where the molds for Kramer's high-powered offshore boats are stored.

@@victorlorraine6596 Fort Apache was just knocked down for condos last year I think. Theres nothing boating related left on Thunderboat Rd anymore. Shame. Used to Be Cigarette, Apache, Donzi, others on that road.

Kramer would've made as much money selling Fort Apache these days as he made in his whole drug transporting career if he didn't go to prison
