    Hey I have the same 3D printer I would suggest upgrading the print bed to glass as it makes it easier to take the print off. Also it makes the bottom of the print perfectly smooth.

      I just purchased one of these and I am still in the process of setting it up so I have not done any prints on it yet. I have been reading about using glass and hairspray and I have a few questions if you don't mind.
      1. How thick is your glass?
      2. How are you holding the glass to the bed?
      3. Did you remove the blue surface material or did you put your glass on top of it?
      4. Are you using hairspray? If so, can you tell me what brand and can you also explain how you are spraying it on without it going everywhere inside your machine?
      Thanks.

    I am honestly surprised you bought one. I figured gearbest would send you a CR-10 like they have done with every youtuber I seem to have subscribed to. I LOVE my CR-10 its an awesome printer. Anyways if you need any help with PLA let me know. PLA is super super easy to print with. No warping, don't have to print as hot, no toxic smell. It just isn't as durable. If you get into the hobby for sure try nylon bridge filament its somewhat flexible but tough as hell. But as a tip level the build plate while its at printing temp. So preheat it to whatever your normal print temps are (both nozzle and bed, then level as the metal will obviously be different when hot. Also don't push down on the bed when leveling lift the edge of the paper and slide it back and forth instead of pushing it down and sliding. When talking about tenths of millimeters this all matters.

    I dont own a 3d printer but probably the easiest method to clean the nozzle by my opinion would be to heat it with a lighter and put in a rod with the same diametter as the hole. How wide is the hole on the nozzle anyway?

    You are going to have to make sure that the grub screw in each gear is fully tightened as they seem to come loose and cause the printer to malfunction, All 3D printers should be used in a well ventilated area and once the system is set running you should really leave the area and do something else so you are not inhaling nasty fumes, CADKEY should be used for generating the G-Code that would be loaded on to the SD Card.

    I have one of these... it's great. I removed the right extruder though after i managed to short the hot end heater wire to the thermocouple wire and blew a thermocouple amp. I'm planning to upgrade it with a glass print bed and a single extruder aluminium carriage in increase the print volume and allow for future upgrade to an E3D v6.
    RE: the door. I've had my printer for about 2 years now and no problems with door durability and i've managed to wack it from the top with my elbow a few times. I'm not a huge fan of this design though because the printer sits to my right so the door opens into me. At some point i'll cut the door off and put magnets into it and into the printer so it will be a removable mangentic panel.
    I've gotten pretty good results with my printer www.thingiverse.com/make:493923
    I would take an FFCP over an Ultimaker 2 any day!

    stepper motors ... ANY motor ... can create electricity ..by moving it ... that IS what they do ... the fact that is NOT what it is being used for doesnt matter ... as for circuitry to prevent back emf from moving the heads ... yes IF it was all DC then they just slap a diode on the line and no problem .. but since it's AC ... it then becomes either a switch to a HIGH resistance load ... or a program setting to shut off the motor ...

    It's your money and I am not trying to tell you how to spend it. However, in my opinion spending $800+ so you can make monsters from role playing games or maybe chess pieces is a bit silly.
    Don't get me wrong, I understand that 3-D printing CAN make useful articles, I just doubt that a "hobbyist" will use it for such. I do remember your making a switch handle with this technology and I remember that handle breaking shortly thereafter.
    I could go on but I won't. I hope you have a lot of fun with this toy.

    • @RinoaL
      @RinoaL  7 лет назад +1

      +Clyde Fishface thats a joke right? im not a hobbyist, i need it for rapid prototyping. ive already used some 3d printed parts in my projects but didnt want to highlight them since at the time i didnt want to admit i was printing them at work. now that i have this i can use it for cosplay items and for making parts. im especially excited for using this to help cast metal replicas using lost-plastic-casting methods. can easilly build any custom metal part that way without needing expensive tools.
      this isnt a toy, its more useful than a lathe to me, and i went 50/50 with my mother on it so i didnt even pay for all of it. so stop being so judgmental.
      perhaps you dont realize how vital 3d printing is to rapid prototyping, and helpful to my sort of projects.

    • @clydefishface3869
      @clydefishface3869 7 лет назад

      Actually, you ARE a hobbyist. You do nothing that is of REAL commercial value. You are a 20-something KID that still lives with mommy and daddy (or at least mommy's husband). You collect JUNK and call it valuable supplies for your rather amateurish video productions.
      Even when you had a REAL job you couldn't make it on your own but had to rent a ROOM rather than have any kind of a home.
      I enjoy, for the most part, your silly little videos and I admire your willingness to get dirty in trying all sorts of things. You have grand plans but little concept of what you will REALLY do with all your junk. If you didn't live in such a rural area you would never get away with the mess you laughingly call a yard. Your ignorance on safety procedures shows one of the reasons why you cannot have a real job, no employer would stand for such shenanigans on the job as you routinely pull in your back yard. Even when the safety issues are pointed out you simply dismiss them as any eight-year old would do.
      Grow up! Stop depending on mommy for your transportation and god knows how much other. Get a REAL job and start paying your way in the world.
      And don't bother responding, I've read it all before many times.

    • @RinoaL
      @RinoaL  7 лет назад +2

      +Clyde Fishface wow you really have no clue about me do you? i learned 3d printing when i managed that rapid prototyping lab at Apple, and yes i did do my part to help the industry in building prototypes with that. i dont rely on my mother, she asked me to come back and so i did. im not some poor kid relying on my mother, almost the other way around. my mother worries about money and so with me back she doesnt have to anymore.
      if you continue your bullshit atittude then ill have no option but to ban you from commenting.
      please unsubscribe and never bother me again. you obviously dont care about reality.
